M.Tech. in Control and Instrumentation - Batch of 2020
Offered by Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology

It is not that good place to pursue M.Tech.
Placements: Currently, students have got placed from college placement as it's ongoing. The highest salary package offered was 13 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 1.8 LPA. The average salary package offered was 3.6 LPA. Top recruiting companies are L&T, Vedanta, Infosys, TATA BSL, Hindalco, etc. Industrial automation and process control engineers roles are provided here. None of the students preferred internships.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is poor as it is an old government institution. There is no Wi-Fi, not well-equipped labs and classrooms, no drinking water, no electricity backup, no bus facility for college, no projector and screen facilities. The library is inadequate both qualitatively and quantitatively. Being a day scholar, I don't have much idea about the hostel facilities.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are helpful and qualified, but they are quite busy with class and labs. They are not knowledgeable. Hence, the quality of teaching is bad. The course curriculum is relevant but inadequate to make a student industry-ready. There is a scope of improvement in the curriculum and can be made with a more practical approach.

It's good, just to get a degree from VSSUT.
Placements: Talking about Placement, it is ongoing for my batch now. So far very less number of people from my class have been placed. The highest salary Offered is 13L per annum (including Off-campus, Pool Campus and On-campus drives) and the lowest could be 1.8L per annum. The role for Engineers of my course are like sensor designing, Controller Design, instrument related, Industrial Automation, etc. Very few people have got internships from my course.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is of moderate level in VSSUT. Wi-Fi, good drinking water, Electrical power backup, leakage proof cyling are not provided by the college. Labs and Classrooms are okay but don't have arrangement for even projector. The library is having very few books and is inadequate. Hostels are well-equipped with good food, indoor and outdoor sports.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified but not so knowledgeable. The quality of Teaching is average. The course curriculum is relevant but still can be better with more practical approach to fit the industry environment. It makes you some how ready but not adequate for industry requirements.

VSSUT is a reputed organisation which needs to bring back its glory.
Placements: None of our batch mates got placed through college placement. In the upcoming weeks, we have some placement drives in VSSUT. The salary package offered is above 3 LPA, some also offer a salary package of 4.5 LPA or even 6 LPA. Some of the core private companies are yet to visit for placement drives such as L&T, Aditya Birla Group, Maruti, etc. Top recruiting companies for our course are all the automation companies like ABB, Siemens, L&T, etc. Few students might have taken up an internship.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure provided by our college in our department is, descent quality of labs and classrooms are provided. There is a poor library, and we don't have a department library. Wi-Fi is also not available for all. In our hostel, the food is good, hygienic, scarcity of water is felt at times and Wi-Fi is not available. Outdoor sports facility like badminton and for the indoor game only table tennis are provided. A common dispensary is available for the university, but I don't think anyone relies on it.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified, helpful and knowledgeable, but some are confined only to the course curriculum. The teaching quality is good, but there is a scope of improvement. The course curriculum is quite relevant so far as the readiness for the industry is concerned.
Other: I have chosen this course in my masters as I have specialised in this automation and control domain right after my B.Tech in CTTC Bhubaneswar and after that by working in ABB India Ltd as a project engineer.
