    Underrated college- VSSUT, Burla.
Placements: Very good placement as per tier 2 college. CSE and mechanical branch get good placement. Average package is up to 7 LPA. Every year, almost every student is placed who has no backlogs. Other branches, like electrical, also have good placement numbers. Branches like ME and chemical also have good placements.
Infrastructure: As the college is very old, the old buildings are not so good, but still they are renovated and looking very good now. As per the government of Odisha, which funded 2000 crore for the college development, new building work is going on. Some new hostels will also be built in the upcoming days, and also labs and sports facilities will be developed. Hostels and mess food is above average, and very good infrastructure is present.
Faculty: Facilities provided by the college are sufficient. The faculty members are very good; all are highly qualified. You will have your semester exam in 2 parts: one is mid-semester 30 marks, the other is end-semester 50 marks, and the teacher's assessment is 20 marks, and the aggregate mark will give you a grade on the subject. Very good exam facilities have been provided; it's very convenient.

VSSUT is a reputed and good college.
Placements: Our college is reputed for its experienced faculty. They are very good at teaching. The students placed in our college secured a percentage of nearly 70 percent. The highest package, or I can say the average package, was 6 Lacs per year and the lowest was 3.5 Lacs. Top companies are TCS, INFOSYS, SEMICONDUCTOR COMPANIES, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was very nice. Classes and labs are also good, but the good part is our library, a very good place to study and concentrate. At our hostel, the Wi-Fi connection was not good; otherwise, everything from food to rooms is average, and each room is shared among 4 students. Our college has a good industry network. You will get a good placement.
Faculty: The teachers were knowledgeable and helpful, and the teaching skills and quality were good. Strong faculty members are available here. VSSUT is reputed for its experienced faculty members, who are also experts in their respective fields. VSSUT provides internship opportunities, which are very helpful for all students.

A small review for my beautiful college.
Placements: VSSUT (Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology), Burla, is one of the reputed technical institutions in Odisha, India. Below is information based on general trends observed for placement statistics and recruitment drives for courses like B.Tech, M.Tech, etc., related fields. The placement percentage for B.Tech students at VSSUT is usually between 70% and 85%. The highest salary package offered can range from INR 20 LPA to INR 40 LPA. The lowest package is from INR 3 LPA to INR 4 LPA. The average salary package trends to range between INR 5 LPA and INR 8 LPA.
Infrastructure: VSSUT, Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, has numerous facilities and infrastructures aimed at supporting the students in their academic and extracurricular activities. Labs: The university has well-equipped labs for various engineering and technology disciplines, offering hands-on experience in fields such as electronics, mechanical, civil, computer science, and electrical engineering. Hostel Facilities (Pulaha Hostel): Wi-Fi: Hostels like Pulaha offer WiFi services. Food and Mess: The food quality in the hostels is mostly okay. The mess here in Pulaha provides a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes catering to the preferences and needs of the students. Food quality varies, though.
Faculty: Teacher quality and friendliness at VSSUT: The faculty at VSSUT is generally well-qualified, with many professors holding advanced degrees like M.Tech. And Ph.D. in their respective fields. Teaching standards at VSSUT are always rated as reasonable, especially at the theoretical end and practical adaptation. Professors use more than one way of teaching—including lectures and discussions, among others. Few students may suggest that there's not enough effort towards practical implementation and industry attachment. The course curriculum is expected to make one understand the conceptual and fundamental approaches relevant to respective disciplines.
Other: I am a part of the batch and 1st year of CSE at VSSUT. I chose this course because of my deep interest in [specific field] as well as VSSUT's strong reputation in engineering education. The course provides a good balance. Industry Exposure: Though the curriculum is rich, more internships and industry collaborations would be helpful. Fests: VSSUT hosts events like Cultural Fest and Technozion, which attract participants from all over the country. Overall, VSSUT provides an excellent educational foundation and lively campus life with adequate opportunities for personal growth and professional development.

Good college experience if you are opting for core branch.
Placements: At most 90 percent of the students get placed every year in my course in electrical engineering. The average package of our branch is 5 Lacs per annum and the highest package is up to 12-15 Lacs per annum. Students getting internship varies from 70-80 percent.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is in very good condition both for the college and our hostel for the first year. The college has a central library, and electrical engineering laboratory. In the hostel, the food quality and menu provided are also very good for the students.
Faculty: There are 250 faculty members working in the college for 4500 students which makes the ratio 1:18. The faculty members are cooperative and provide consultancy. There are two exams in each semester, a mid-semester and end-semester. The course curriculum is very relevant and it makes students industry-ready.
Other: My batch is B. Tech electrical engineering. I chose this branch because I always wanted to complete my degree in the core branch so I chose this college. Every year multiple fests are organised by the college. The campus connectivity is well maintained.

    Good for core enthusiasts.
Placements: The placements at my college are average. Despite what they say on their website and in person, the placements are mediocre at best. Last year, the best placements were in metallurgy and core branches, with an average package of 9-11 LPA. Non-core companies offered very low salaries, averaging 4-5.5 LPA. Students who found jobs on their own should give credit to the college for providing the resources to help them succeed.
Infrastructure: The labs have new equipment, but they are not using it; instead, they are using all the old equipment. A new building is under construction, and most academic activities will move there, so perhaps they will start using the new equipment then. As for the hostels, only one is new (Agastya Boys HOR); the others are old and have poor hygiene facilities. The food is mediocre, and the Wi-Fi doesn't work in some hostels. The classrooms are good and equipped with smart boards.
Faculty: The faculty in some branches are helpful and good, but in others the environment is toxic. Exams are conducted on time with a high level of strictness. However, the syllabus for non-core branches needs to be updated and reviewed, as it is outdated and doesn't help students get placed in good companies. Students have to take time out of academics to study the syllabus, rather than it being included in the course itself.
