Good college experience if you are opting for core branch.
Placements: At most 90 percent of the students get placed every year in my course in electrical engineering. The average package of our branch is 5 Lacs per annum and the highest package is up to 12-15 Lacs per annum. Students getting internship varies from 70-80 percent.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is in very good condition both for the college and our hostel for the first year. The college has a central library, and electrical engineering laboratory. In the hostel, the food quality and menu provided are also very good for the students.
Faculty: There are 250 faculty members working in the college for 4500 students which makes the ratio 1:18. The faculty members are cooperative and provide consultancy. There are two exams in each semester, a mid-semester and end-semester. The course curriculum is very relevant and it makes students industry-ready.
Other: My batch is B. Tech electrical engineering. I chose this branch because I always wanted to complete my degree in the core branch so I chose this college. Every year multiple fests are organised by the college. The campus connectivity is well maintained.

The finest government college of Odisha.
Placements: We have a good placement record for our branch with different MNC companies coming to hire us at our college, and there is most probably mass hiring in many MNCs with efficient training and workshops for the particular company. It’s a great privilege to attend all these features present in our college.
Infrastructure: We do have very good facilities in our college and hostel rooms, including Wi-Fi facilities, efficient and descriptive labs, web-developed and modernized classrooms, and highly air-conditioned libraries with an ample number of books, which provide efficient knowledge.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful in all perspectives, like providing resources, and they have amazing knowledge regarding the subjects they teach, which provides their experience to help students learn and understand things properly. According to me, my course is relevant, and the students get many opportunities in industrial companies according to our course.

VSSUT is a reputed and good college.
Placements: Our college is reputed for its experienced faculty. They are very good at teaching. The students placed in our college secured a percentage of nearly 70 percent. The highest package, or I can say the average package, was 6 Lacs per year and the lowest was 3.5 Lacs. Top companies are TCS, INFOSYS, SEMICONDUCTOR COMPANIES, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was very nice. Classes and labs are also good, but the good part is our library, a very good place to study and concentrate. At our hostel, the Wi-Fi connection was not good; otherwise, everything from food to rooms is average, and each room is shared among 4 students. Our college has a good industry network. You will get a good placement.
Faculty: The teachers were knowledgeable and helpful, and the teaching skills and quality were good. Strong faculty members are available here. VSSUT is reputed for its experienced faculty members, who are also experts in their respective fields. VSSUT provides internship opportunities, which are very helpful for all students.
Other: No.

Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Burla, Sambalpur.
Placements: About 90 percent of students got placed every year in campus placement. The highest package is around 7.5 lakh, the lowest is 4.5 Lakh, and the average package is 6 Lakh in Mechanical Engineering. The top recruiting company for ME is Maruti Suzuki. Every year, 100 percent of students get internships in companies like Mahindra, Wipro, Tata, and many more.
Infrastructure: Our hostel is very good. In one room, they accommodate 3 students for 1st-year students. We have good classrooms, but we have no Wi-Fi in classes. We have a central library where every book is available. For the 1st-year students, our college provides the best infrastructure, providing excellent hostel facilities. A single room is provided for 3 students.
Faculty: Each and every teacher in our college is highly qualified, and most of them are Ph.D. holders. Their teaching qualifications are just amazing. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant and it makes students industry-ready. The exams of our college are not very hard or not so easy; it's of moderate difficulty. The passing percentage is nearly 98%. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready.
Other: I love machines and want to know about machines more and more. The best thing about my course is it is a core branch, and it has a lot of scope in ISRO and the motors industry of India, which is an evolving industry.

Best engineering college in Odisha.
Placements: 80% placement rate overall. The Mechanical Engineering branch has a 95% placement rate. The lowest package is 3 LPA, the highest package is 22 LPA, and the average package is 6.25 LPA. L&T, Aditya Birla Group, and JSW Group are the top recruiters. Internship facilities are also available, and the college has tried with different organizations to provide modern skills to students.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is also above average in our college. The library contains all kinds of books, and the lab is also well-equipped. Wi-Fi facilities are available on campus. Classrooms have digital boards. VIMSAR is present near our campus for medical facilities. The campus is also well-connected to Sambalpur and Burla markets through the city bus and Mo bus.
Faculty: Faculty are excellent in our college, and the majority are Ph.D. qualified. The majority of our faculty members are Ph.D. holders, and some have also completed their Ph.D. from top IITs. Semester exams are mostly easy, and the majority of questions are from pyqs, except in some subjects.
Other: The best thing is the college has very low fees and a high placement rate.

Good for core enthusiasts.
Placements: The placements at my college are average. Despite what they say on their website and in person, the placements are mediocre at best. Last year, the best placements were in metallurgy and core branches, with an average package of 9-11 LPA. Non-core companies offered very low salaries, averaging 4-5.5 LPA. Students who found jobs on their own should give credit to the college for providing the resources to help them succeed.
Infrastructure: The labs have new equipment, but they are not using it; instead, they are using all the old equipment. A new building is under construction, and most academic activities will move there, so perhaps they will start using the new equipment then. As for the hostels, only one is new (Agastya Boys HOR); the others are old and have poor hygiene facilities. The food is mediocre, and the Wi-Fi doesn't work in some hostels. The classrooms are good and equipped with smart boards.
Faculty: The faculty in some branches are helpful and good, but in others the environment is toxic. Exams are conducted on time with a high level of strictness. However, the syllabus for non-core branches needs to be updated and reviewed, as it is outdated and doesn't help students get placed in good companies. Students have to take time out of academics to study the syllabus, rather than it being included in the course itself.
