Value for money in B.Tech (VSSUT).
Placements: As there are various branches in VSSUT, a good number of companies approached the students. The average package of VSSUT is 6 LPA. Branches like Mechanical and Civil get good placements here. The lowest package is nearly 4 Lacs, and the highest last year was 48 LPA. Mainly, students from my domain, Electronics and Telecommunication, went for internships at companies like Tata Steel, Jindal Steel Plant, CTTC training, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite average at VSSUT. As it is a college established nearly 70 years ago, some of its equipment is from older generations, and classrooms are also not air-conditioned. But students will never get bored of college. The library is available from 9 AM to 8 PM, Monday to Saturday. Wi-Fi is also available on campus. Hostel facilities are good, with 3-4 students staying in a room. Bathrooms are always cleaned, and the food provided in the hostel is also above average. Canteens are available in every hostel. Sports facilities are also available on campus, such as cricket, football, hockey, badminton, kabaddi, chess, etc. There is an official sports society, and students also go out of state to compete in various programs.
Faculty: The course curriculum in the college is very well defined and fully structured for students. Faculty members are friendly in nature; they always encourage questions and provide information about new things. For research activities, VSSUT is also good. Many Ph.D. scholars now work as professors in NITs and IITs. The course curriculum is designed in such a way that it makes students industry-ready in 4 years of graduation. Semester exams are conducted twice a year, and there are also two midterms. In midterms, the questions are set so that every student can attempt them, and in the end-semester exams, it actually tests the students' capabilities.
Other: My personal interest is in this electronics domain. The best thing is that it gives versatility, allowing us to go into the core domain and also into the circuit domain. It gives us full freedom. There is one cultural fest, VASSUNT, and one technical fest, SAMAVESH, held every year at VSSUT. Also, department-wise, every year an annual function is conducted. Campus life is above average at VSSUT. You can explore natural scenic beauty places near Hirakud (dam), waterfalls, and temples. There are nearly 20 clubs and societies at VSSUT, including technical and cultural clubs like the Drama Club (EMOTICA), Dance Club (VIBRANZ), Music Club (SOULS), Writing Club (LITSOC), and technical clubs like IEEE, Robotics, E-Cell, IDEA Innovation Club, and many more.

VSSUT- Overall good college with some lacking points.
Placements: Placement in this college is decent, with around 65-70% of B.Tech students getting placed every year. However, this number varies annually according to demand and situation. This year, the highest package was around 18-20 LPA. The lowest package was 3 LPA. The average package is around 5-6 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Amazon, JSW, Vedanta, Tata, Deloitte, Cognizant, Infosys, and TCS.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is well-established. The campus size is also pretty good. All available facilities are nearby. Classrooms are spacious and clean, with blackboards, whiteboards, and smart boards. Wi-Fi access is very limited for students, almost negligible. The library has a good amount of books and is well-maintained. Hostels are nice, but the food quality is very average, typical of a hostel mess. Many sports and games are available, according to your preference.
Faculty: Professors are well-experienced, with most from either NITs or IITs. Some are helpful, others not so much. However, they are quite clear in their concepts and teach according to the syllabus. Teaching quality is also decent. The course curriculum may be a bit outdated, like in other colleges, but they are slowly rolling out the new education policies. Semester exams are average to above average in difficulty and not that hard to score on. With some consistency, it is quite easy to score marks. The pass percentage is around 85-95%.
Other: I chose this course as I didn't have any major preference for branches in engineering. I wanted to be in CSE, EE, or ETC branches and finally settled for ETC. I want to improve the industry readiness of the course so that it is easier to get into jobs and industries directly.

Good for core enthusiasts.
Placements: The placements at my college are average. Despite what they say on their website and in person, the placements are mediocre at best. Last year, the best placements were in metallurgy and core branches, with an average package of 9-11 LPA. Non-core companies offered very low salaries, averaging 4-5.5 LPA. Students who found jobs on their own should give credit to the college for providing the resources to help them succeed.
Infrastructure: The labs have new equipment, but they are not using it; instead, they are using all the old equipment. A new building is under construction, and most academic activities will move there, so perhaps they will start using the new equipment then. As for the hostels, only one is new (Agastya Boys HOR); the others are old and have poor hygiene facilities. The food is mediocre, and the Wi-Fi doesn't work in some hostels. The classrooms are good and equipped with smart boards.
Faculty: The faculty in some branches are helpful and good, but in others the environment is toxic. Exams are conducted on time with a high level of strictness. However, the syllabus for non-core branches needs to be updated and reviewed, as it is outdated and doesn't help students get placed in good companies. Students have to take time out of academics to study the syllabus, rather than it being included in the course itself.

You can join the college without any hesitation.
Placements: Around 75-80% students get placement. All deserving candidates generally get placed in the final year. Besides, the college provides enough exposure to the outer job market so that students feel confident during job interviews and perform well. Many companies come to recruit candidates such as Infosys, Tata Power, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very nice. Classrooms are well-furnished. Library is AC installed. Hostel is average in the sense of rooms. Rooms are three-seater. Hostel food is good. Lifts are there in the hostel. Hostel comprises four blocks A, B, C, D where all the first-year students live.
Faculty: The curriculum typically balances theory, laboratory work, and projects to foster problem-solving, analytical thinking, and hands-on experience. There are also courses focused on soft skills, communication, and management to prepare students for professional environments. In the final year, students usually undertake a capstone project that allows them to apply their learning to real-world challenges, often with industry collaboration. Additionally, some curricula include internships and industry training to provide exposure to the practical aspects of engineering.
Other: Electronics and Telecommunication is the best branch at Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology.

Not gonna say satisfied, but not dissatisfied either.
Placements: The placement cell is newly made and well maintained from inside to outside. But unfortunately, for the ETC branch, it's terrible for the last year. Coding companies came in bulk, but there is a very rare sign of core companies. Almost 70 percent of students from the ETC branch were placed.
Infrastructure: The hostel is well maintained. Wi-Fi is available. You will be given everything required for a student to study. If you compare the hostel facilities with hostel food, then it's decent. Hostels have their own grounds, and you can play there. There are common toilets on every floor. The environment is good for study.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and good at teaching. Some portions are outdated, but at least you will learn something. The exam patterns are divided into three portions: Mid semester, End semester, and internal exams. You have to score well in all three to get an outstanding grade.
Other: The best thing about this course is that it consists of both core and coding parts. The syllabus is huge and also difficult at times, but it's interesting. Every batch consists of 180 students. There will be a branch fest named Techtronics, a cultural fest named Vassaunt, and a technical fest named Samavesh.

Yes, why not. But if u have studied +2 you need to clear JEE Mains by securing minimum cut-off mark & if pursued Diploma then need to clear OJEE minimum cut-off mark for admission in Burla.

You may get ETC in VSSUT since the usual cutoff for ETC is about 120,000 every year. But I can't say this for sure if you're a general male. You may have a chance. As far as counseling is concerned, keep an eye on the OJEE website and fill choices as per your preferences once the counseling process
