B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2025

Normal college with decent placements.
Placements: Students get a decent package sometimes, and other times its below average. This year, it was very low for IT companies, while it was good for core branches. But it is not always the same. You can get good placement if you have done internships and projects, which will give you leverage over others.
Infrastructure: The food quality is horrible and the cleanliness is very minimal. You don't get proper food and the infrastructure is broken. The walls are broken and the hostel is breaking down.
Smart boards and classrooms were installed just recently in the oldest engineering college in Odisha.
Faculty: Don't expect much from faculty members. They will never teach you properly, except for a few teachers. Exam schedules are published two days before exams. And if you ask them, they behave casually, as if they don't care about us. They think of us as some sort of beggar who is asking for money.
Other: I chose electrical engineering as I had been allotted this branch in JEE counselling. Fests are decent but the campus is way too small.

Below Average acc. To me!
Placements: Very poor placement FTY 23. software have worse due to recession. Core placements are still decent with an avg. LPA of 6 LPA. SEE overall it gives you an avg. Placements. Software big companies don't usually visit becz of its remote location.
Infrastructure: Extremely poor infrastructure for hostel. Like really pathetic. Initially u will be kept in nice and maintained hostel then from Next year onwards everything goes wrong. No good infrastructure, sanitry, or even food. Old hostels are at its the worst!
Faculty: Faculty are decent. Some are little self obsessed! Curriculum is not upto the mark. You will feel like all u are doing is writing *** assignments which are basically copy pasting from a manual to a new record or file! 90% of your college time will go in this!

Our college provides the best infrastructure and placements in the core sector.
Placements: From 2023-2024, our college provided the best placements in the mechanical engineering department. For the mechanical and IT courses, around 70-80% of students get placed every year. More than 130 companies like JSW, Aditya Birla, Vedanta, etc., visit our college and offer an average salary package of 6 LPA - 7 LPA.
Infrastructure: Classrooms conditions are average. We have to not expect much as it is a state government college. It provides the best infrastructure and facilities. Hostels are provided with free Wi-Fi, 24X7 water, and light supply. The hostel food is good.
Faculty: Teachers are very experienced in the mechanical branch. They are Ph.D. holders. They have in-depth concept clarity and help us to understand the lessons. The course curriculum is old but is relevant. Exams are nominal. They are not very difficult and not very lenient. You have to prepare well.

Great placement in 2022 and best faculty in all over Odisha.
Placements: Top recruiting companies for mechanical were TATA, Hindalco, vedanta, jsw, jspl, jsl, Adani, Maruti Suzuki, L& T, Shyam metalics. In any course the highest placement was 10 LPA and the lowest was 4 LPA. 10 percentage of students got paid internship and the rest got the unpaid one at very various core industries.
Infrastructure: Quality of food was average and facilities at the classroom was very poor. The medical facilities were great and the sports culture was also there. The labs are very outdated and the curriculum was also very outdated. The classrooms were also very old and looks like your are studying in some coaching.
Faculty: Faculty members were really good and helpful. They were all very much qualified and they always tried their best to teach us. Everytime they think of the welfare of students and support the students in every respect. The course curriculum were very outdated. And the difficulty level were also very high.

Life is all about consistency.
Placements: About 80 percent of students in our Mechanical branch were placed last year, and the highest number of students were placed at L&T with a package of 7 LPA. The highest placement that our college offers is for core departments like Mechanical and Civil, while IT branches are also getting good placements.
Infrastructure: Our college provides free Wi-Fi facilities, and our classrooms are equipped with smart boards, along with white and green boards. The hostel facilities are not up to the mark, and the quality of the food is decent. The water we receive is also of poor quality, and the hostel environment is not very clean.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, and the teaching quality is good. The difficulty level of semester exams is moderate, neither too hard nor too easy. The exams are comparable to those held in IITs and NITs. The pass percentage is 30%.

Yes, you are if your AIR is 18360 but if this is your State rank then maybe not. From now on board marks don't affect JEE rank.
Good luck!
