Absolutely dissatisfied because nothing met my expectations.
Placements: The placement of students in the course is literally low compared to other departments. The average package of salary is too low just 20k to 40k. Only 2 percent students are placed in core companies and all the rest are placed in IT companies. There is no guarantee for getting a core job but you will be placed in an IT company.
Infrastructure: The facility and infrastructure are okay. Free Wi-Fi is available. The hostel facility is very poor. The breakfast and dinner are not up to the mark. The lunch is good compared to breakfast and dinner. The Saturday lunch is especially very yummy. Now, some changes are undergoing in hostels as per students' needs.
Faculty: Only some faculty members are good at teaching and have ample knowledge. Majority of the faculty are not so good at teaching as they do not have appropriate knowledge of their subjects. This curriculum is not relevant. The course is petroleum engineering but it focuses majorly on topics from chemical engineering. There is lack of topics about upstream which are required for GATE exams The pass percentage is high but percentage of getting job with this course is low.

Review of Alagappa College of Technology, Anna University.
Placements: Almost 60% of the students were placed in IT and core fields. The highest package offered is 15 LPA and the lowest package offered is 3 LPA. Top recruiters for our course are CPCL and Wood PLC. CTS offered internships to nearly 20% of students. The top role offered in our course is production engineer.
Infrastructure: Our department has a separate building for classrooms and labs. Labs are quite good and have the latest equipment. We do not have Wi-Fi in our classroom, but we have Wi-Fi in our hostel. The hostel environment is quite good as compared to other colleges, and the food is also good.
Faculty: Teachers in our field are qualified, and the teaching is also quite good. Our course is relevant to both upstream and downstream. The syllabus is quite old in the 2015 regulation, but the new regulation offers a good syllabus. Semester exams are quite tough as most of the papers are problematic.

Satisfied with the facilities in the campus but placements could have been better.
Placements: The placements for our batch was good. 50 percent of the students got placed in IT jobs, and 25 percent got placements in core jobs. The highest package offered was 5.6 lakhs per annum, the lowest package offered was 2 lakhs per annum, and the average package was around 3 lakhs per annum.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our campus is one of the best in Tamil Nadu. Our campus is around 200-acres having all the basic facilities. The playground of our campus is one of the largest with separate grounds for cricket, football, hockey, and basketball. The hostel facilities were average, and the food was just okay.
Faculty: The faculty of our college are well-qualified and knowledgeable people. All of them had completed PhD in their respective field and had done enough research in their fields. The teaching methods were usual lecture method. Industry exposure to us was only limited.

If you are good in basic science, this is the best college you can join. You will be a master here
Placements: The placement in this college was good and the percentage of students placed is 65%. The lowest average salary is 2 lakhs and the highest is 8 lakhs per annum. The college has many rare course departments but the companies visiting here is most are of the information technology field. Reliance industries, CTS, TCS and L&T visited.
Infrastructure: The college is situated in Chennai city and maintained by the government of Tamil Nadu. The college has Wi-Fi free for the students in selected places around the campus. The college lab has experienced technicians and the apparatus are old but well-maintained. The quality of food in the canteen is worth for the money as the price is very economical. The hostel rooms are very comfortable to the students except for the mosquito torture. During the rainy season, the water will be stagnant around the campus. The building was old and strong.
Faculty: The only college in Tamil Nadu which offers courses like petroleum engineer, ceramic, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and textile engineering. The faculty members are very well talented. Since it was a not a private institution, all the faculty members hold a doctorate degree. The teaching method was not up to the students' knowledge. The student to faculty ratio was 60:1. The industry exposure was bad The course curriculum was good and useful. We study in a new regulation which was newly created in 2015.

The college life is very good here.
Placements: Placements are really bad if you are going to try for getting placed in a core company. Since, all the departments are PSU related department where one has to take GATE examination. If you consider about getting placed in an IT company, well and good. This college helps you getting a job in an IT company. Nearly 30% got placed in IT companies, with a yearly CTC of 3.35 LPA. This year TCS, Cognizant and Infosys came for bulk drive. Nearly 75% of the candidates got internships from various PSUs with no stipend.
Infrastructure: There is no facility of Wi-Fi in the college campus but have labs with numerous systems available. The Hostels are Wi-Fi enabled. We have got numerous highly furnished labs and the classrooms are installed with a projector for smart learning and with ergonomically designed chairs. Food is the best thing here. Since, it is a government institution, the fees is low. I will rate it 5/5 to this college.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified. They are helpful, qualified as well as knowledgeable. They use conventional techniques like black-board and smart learning methodologies. Student to faculty ratio is 40:1 which is quite impressive. We have got chances to visit industries and the course curriculum is impressive too.

Yes you will get into engineering. But when, it depends on your caste. Fees is also dependent on whether you are minority ,backward class or SC/ST. SC/ST has fees around 4000. But, you can try it in the counselling. The applications for other state students is now open at www.annauniv.
