Review of College of Engineering, Anna University.
Placements: The highest salary package offered in 2021 was increased by 70% than offered in 2022. The average salary package offered in 2022 compared to 2021 increased by nearly 19%. The highest salary package offered was 37 LPA in 2022. The highest salary package offered was 22 LPA in 2021. The top recruiting companies are Google, Microsoft, Accenture, etc.
Infrastructure: There are approximately 15 hostels, including separate hostels for boys and girls. Students get dormitories according to their departments, and it has a combined dormitory where the students from all departments are mixed. For students accepted through the NRI quota, a separate dormitory is available and the fee charged is Rs.60,000 per year. This college is located in a prime city.
Faculty: The timetable depends on the route that college students select. In the event of a failed evaluation, assignments are not common. Faculty members determine the instructional methodology. Semester exams are tough. Our campus life is good.
Other: I chose this course because of its adaptability, and the wide range of post-graduate professional choices. You can work in a variety of industries, including construction, robotics, the automobile industry, and the energy sector.

Good infrastructure and you have to read yourself and ragging is prohibited.
Placements: About 50% of students are placed. The salary offered is Rs.25000 to Rs.100000 per month. Caterpillar and other companies recruit students. Internships are from Avadi, DRDO, and other places also taking place. Students should get 6 above CGPA. Information technology and core companies are also taking placements.
Infrastructure: All are available Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, library, ground, etc. A good mess, canteen, and sports are also available. The facilities are good in this college and we can't resist it. The computer lab can be used whenever you want. There is a library where we can take books and use them.
Faculty: Faculty members help with the projects. The teaching quality is nice. All are only practical and helps in knowledge gaining. The course helps in the industry too. The semester is tough than you think. Questions will be tough and maximum obtainable is 70%. We have to take at least 50% in the semester.

Review of the Red Lady College of Engineering, Guindy.
Placements: Like all other colleges, placement is there for everyone but the salary package is important. About 40% of students got sure placements with a high salary package of 15 LPA and so on. Mostly, the passed outs will make a start up or partner with a start up. Some will enter into cinema and entertainment or YouTube fields like our blacksheep team.
Infrastructure: Our college has good classrooms. The campus is awesome. It is constructed by the British 227 years ago and has 227 years of legacy. It has an awesome environment. Wi-Fi speed varies and sometimes, it gets disconnected. It is a heavenly environment for research and exploring. Food is of good quality. The hostel comes with 4 in a room for 1st years, 3 in a room for 2nd years, 2 in a room for 3 years, and 1 for the finals.
Faculty: Self-study is important here. One must not depend on faculty members and professors. You have to study by yourself. You can get help with the seniors if required and make a good bond with seniors. Make good use of the university library. Don't get into relationships.
Other: I chose mechanical engineering because my aim is to join ISRO as a scientist in the propulsion or design field. In my course, the faculty members are of great strength but they focus only on the content not on practical applications so I wish that part could be improved.

It is one of the best engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu.
Placements: Almost 50% of students got placed in our course. Almost all of them got placed in the core companies. The highest salary package offered is 39 LPA. The average salary package offered is 6.9 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Caterpillar, Tata Groups, Hyundai, etc. Every student must attend an internship to complete the course. Faculty members support students to get internships. Top roles offered are industrial engineer, IC engines engineer, thermal engineer, design engineer, and computer-integrated manufacturing.
Infrastructure: The first semester classes will occur in the main building. The infrastructure of the main building is not good. The second-semester mechanical department students will be moved to our department. The infrastructure of our department is good. Classrooms are equipped with projectors and laptops. The infrastructure of the hostel is good. It is worth the money paid. We have a decent Wi-Fi facility with a good network speed. All the unwanted and illegal websites are blocked, ensuring the safety of the students using Wi-Fi. The campus is equipped with an excellent library and computer labs. The reading halls are equipped with air-conditioners.
Faculty: All faculty members are Ph.D. holders. They are knowledgeable. Almost all of them provide excellent lectures except for some faculty members. Students must prepare for the semester exams by themselves without expecting the faculty members to complete the syllabus. Semester exams are easy. They evaluate our papers. We have the right to check the paper for any mistake in total or some other cases.
Other: Getting admitted to this college is difficult. It is based on your 12th cutoff calculated out of 200. I scored 195/200. I opted for this course because I didn't get it due to the lack of a cutoff. The best thing about this course is its facilities. Our department is the largest on the entire campus, with multiple buildings and a large central workshop. Faculty members often skip classes. The HOD should take care of it. Many events and fests are held in our college. Our college is spread over 225 acres of land. Our college has greenery. It has a large space to accommodate all the students. Almost 15000 students are studying in our college. Our campus never gets crowded except for any cultural fest. Scholarships are offered based on eligibility criteria. Some students availed of alumni scholarships. They study free for four years, including the hostel fee taken care of by the alumni association.

Students also asked

Q:   Does College of Engineering Guindy accept JEE score?

A:
Yes, the Government College of Engineering (CEG) in Guindy, Chennai accepts JEE Main scores for admission to its B.Tech programs

However, some colleges conduct their own entrance exams instead of relying on JEE scores.

For Tamil Nadu students, admissions are based on normalised aggregate marks in Class XII PCM through TNEA counselling. For other state students, admissions are based on Anna University counselling.

Other engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu that accept JEE Main scores include:

  • National Institute of Technology (NIT), Trichy
  • Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Chennai
  • Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy (SASTRA University), Thanjavur

Absolutely, the Government College of Engineering (CEG) in Guindy, Chennai recognizes the importance of JEE Main scores for admission into its B.Tech programs. However, it's noteworthy that certain institutions may opt for their own entrance exams as an alternative to JEE scores.

For aspiring engineers from Tamil Nadu, the admission process is distinct. It hinges on the normalized aggregate marks in Class XII Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, assessed through the TNEA counseling. On the flip side, students from other states find their gateway through Anna University counseling.

Diversifying the options, other reputable engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu also open their doors to JEE Main achievers. The National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Trichy, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) in Chennai, and the Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy (SASTRA University) in Thanjavur are among the esteemed institutions welcoming candidates based on their JEE Main scores.

This dynamic approach to admissions ensures that aspiring engineers have multiple avenues to pursue their academic and professional dreams, fostering a diverse and inclusive environment in the realm of engineering education.
