The campus atmosphere is good.
Placements: 85% of students got placed. The highest package offered is 50 LPA, and the lowest package offered is 3.5 LPA. Zoho, etc., companies come here. IT and core companies come here. We got many opportunities, and they provide a lot of information about tech companies and core companies that come here with good salary packages. My friends and many others got placed in our college.
Infrastructure: All the facilities are available, and they are good. Hostel rooms are good, with a good atmosphere. Maintenance is good. The mess food is good. They offer non-veg two times a week. The water connection is in a proper manner.
Faculty: The teaching quality is good, and they are friendly. Semester exams are easy, and we need to study important questions to pass. They repeat the questions in exams. So, we can get pass marks easily.
Other: I chose printing technology as it is not available in many colleges. Nothing needs to be improved.

Review of College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University.
Placements: ]In our college, placements provided were excellent if the student cleared in all the papers with 75% marks. Especially in printing technology, there was 100% placement if the student cleared in all papers. The highest salary package offered was 12 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college was fantastic. The entire campus was full of greenery with plants and trees. It looks like a mini tourist place. Wi-Fi facility was available for 24x7. All the labs were available with the latest equipment. Classrooms were in good condition with smart screens. The library on the campus was huge with more than 10,000 books. The ground was available for all sports.
Faculty: B.E printing technology is a course related to printing and packaging. It is available in only 2 colleges in Tamil Nadu. It is some specialised course in a particular domain. Faculty members were also good and they thought about their experience with the syllabus.
Other: I opted for this course because it is a specialised course available in the minimum colleges and job opportunities are very high.

First Engineering College Of India.
Placements: I'm a 2017-2021 batch. In printing technology, there are 70% placement.30k to 50k salary provided. Really good college, faculty. Amazing infrastructure and good facilities.
Placements: The placements in the college are very good. The department of printing technology offers a minimum package of 3 LPA while the highest can be up to 10-11 LPA, depending on the student. Printing technology offers 90-100% placement, and my seniors have got placed in good companies like ITC, The Hindu, Infosys, etc. The average salary package is 3-4 LPA. The students are offered jobs in marketing, core and IT sector. Internships depend on the students, but departments help the student to get the implant training in MNCs for a period of 30 days. A stipend is not offered for the internships, but the MNCs help the student learn and grow.
Infrastructure: The college and the department have good infrastructure. The college provides the Wi-Fi, and it does not work on mobile phone. It works only on laptops. The Wi-Fi speed is good (3-4 Mbps is normal). The labs are well built and equipped. The classrooms are spacious, and the medical facility is provided for 24 hours. Sports is an integral part of the college. There are always some activities going on in the college. The college canteen has a very good quality and variety of food. The hostel rooms are also good and clean. I did not face any issues in the college until now.
Faculty: The faculty of the department are helpful in all the ways. They all speak proper English, and most of the teaching is in English. Sometimes, the teachers do not take the class, but it is also necessary. The teachers use powerpoint presentations to teach in the class, and that is the modern way of learning. The student to faculty ratio is 25:1. The exposure to the industry is the best in the college. Seminars are conducted, and industry exposures also took place. The course is new and growing and hence a very good one.
Other: The college events are amazing and high level. Kurukshetra and Techo-Fest are the two major events that are conducted in the college. Other events and symposiums are also conducted every year. There are more than 30 clubs and others like NSS, NCC (army and navy), YRC to help the people and develop the students. In all, CEG can be the dream college for anyone, but there are very limited seats for other state people (52 only) for engineering. If you know Tamil, this is definitely the place for you. If you don't know, you will face a lot of problem in communication here, but eventually, you will learn and get used to Tamil.

Absolutely satisfied with the infrastructure and extracurricular activities
Placements: We do have good placements like Hindu and many press companies. Also, we do get some of the ink companies from Dubai for the printing branch. Regular placements are from companies like Chennai Micro Print and Parkson. Our senior batch had placements in ink companies from Dubai and Parkson. There are also many bulk companies that are IT-related in which students of any department can go for placements Cognizant and TCS are the companies that come for bulk placements.
Infrastructure: CEG Anna University is one the best ever colleges in Tamil Nadu. It has various facilities with a good infrastructure, like a library which has access to lakhs of books, classrooms with projectors and especially many clubs to enhance the students' extracurricular skills. In sports, our college has won many medals in district and state level meets. I have no words to say about canteen because it is simply awesome and very cheap. Hostel rooms are quite neat and good. The medical facilities are somewhat good and can be improvised.
Faculty: All faculty members are experienced and good. But some of the faculty members are just not good enough for teaching. The method most of them use is the presentation. They show their PPT and explain the concepts. There was industry exposure as we visited two industries. One was to Chennai Micro Print and the other was a paper mill industry.

Students also asked

Q:   Does College of Engineering Guindy accept JEE score?

A:
Yes, the Government College of Engineering (CEG) in Guindy, Chennai accepts JEE Main scores for admission to its B.Tech programs

However, some colleges conduct their own entrance exams instead of relying on JEE scores.

For Tamil Nadu students, admissions are based on normalised aggregate marks in Class XII PCM through TNEA counselling. For other state students, admissions are based on Anna University counselling.

Other engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu that accept JEE Main scores include:

  • National Institute of Technology (NIT), Trichy
  • Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Chennai
  • Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy (SASTRA University), Thanjavur

Absolutely, the Government College of Engineering (CEG) in Guindy, Chennai recognizes the importance of JEE Main scores for admission into its B.Tech programs. However, it's noteworthy that certain institutions may opt for their own entrance exams as an alternative to JEE scores.

For aspiring engineers from Tamil Nadu, the admission process is distinct. It hinges on the normalized aggregate marks in Class XII Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, assessed through the TNEA counseling. On the flip side, students from other states find their gateway through Anna University counseling.

Diversifying the options, other reputable engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu also open their doors to JEE Main achievers. The National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Trichy, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) in Chennai, and the Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy (SASTRA University) in Thanjavur are among the esteemed institutions welcoming candidates based on their JEE Main scores.

This dynamic approach to admissions ensures that aspiring engineers have multiple avenues to pursue their academic and professional dreams, fostering a diverse and inclusive environment in the realm of engineering education.
