For 2022, cut off was 10333 for General category candidates in All India quota for B.Tech. in Mechatronics Engineering in IIT Bhilai - Indian Institute of Technology. For female candidates in general category under All India quota, 22429 was the closing rank. B.Tech cut off varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant.

For last year, the closing rank for BTech in Mechatronics Engineering was 10333 which is very close to this range. This was for the General category under the All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one cannot afford to score less than this. IIT Bhilai is ranked 81 for Engineering by NIRF 2023. Considered under the top 100 eminent institutes in the country for Engineering education, the cutoffs are comparatively higher. There is no such provision for getting direct admission to any of the IITs including IIT Bhilai. Based on the Round 1 seat allotment, the BTech cutoff scores ranged between 5907 and, 14302 for the General AII India category students. Among all the BTech specialisations, BTech in CSE is the most competitive specialisation.
