Yes, Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar conducts a Personal Interview round for both GATE and non-GATE applicants. Those who have not written GATE exam are required to appear for the institute-level entrance test. In order to apply, all applications must fill the form online. Candidates willing to apply for more than one specialisation must submit separate application forms for each specialisation. After the successful submission of the application form, students will receive an application number and a link to download the application form. 

Yes, non-GATE candidates must appear for the institute level entrance test. However, all candidates are required to appear for the PI round for final selection. In addition to this, BTech graduates from the IITs with CGPA/ CPI of 8.0 or above (on a scale of 10) are eligible to get admission to M.Tech at IIT Gandhinagar without GATE. Other than GATE or the criteria state above, candidates are required to be a pass in BE/ BTech/ MSc or equivalent in appropriate branches with a minimum of 55% aggregate or 5.5 on a 10-point scale (50% aggregate for SC /ST).

Among all the BTech specialisations, BTech in CSE is the most competitive specialisation. The answer is both yes and no. Candidates seeking admission to BTech at IIT Gandhinagar are expected to qualify both JEE Main and JEE Advanced and further go through JoSAA counselling to secure admission. However, getting final admission only on the basis of JEE Main score, is not possible. Additionally, to be eligible for the BTech programme, candidates must have passed their Class 12 with 75% aggregate. Hence, while JEE Main is the most important starting point to get into IIT Gandhinagar for the glagship programme, it is not the only criteria for it. 

Candidates seeking admission to IIT Gandhinagar must meet the basic eligibility for the course which is a UG degree in any stream.
