One of the top engineering colleges of India.
Placements: The courses here that are provided are world-class, with the curriculum designed in such a way that students can easily grasp the concept and apply them in real-life work. The placement and internship opportunities here are awesome and are very high as compared to other colleges of India, with almost 95% placement rate each year. The top recruiting companies are google, microsoft, Uber, etc. And most of the roles provided by the companies are those of SDEs and top consultants. The average package here is 15 to 20 LPA and the highest can go upto 2 crores + a year.
Infrastructure: Here, the overall facilities and infrastructure are very efficient, as when it comes to the management of Wi-Fi, LAN ports, the availability of free drinking water and TV rooms. We got free Wi-Fi in each class as well as in the hostel rooms too. The quality here is very good in every aspect, from the hostel food to the way of teaching and the daily schedule too.
Faculty: The teachers here are world-class when it comes to teaching or the knowledge factor. The way they teach is very enjoyable and can also be understood easily. The curriculum is very relevant as compared to other colleges and teaches us whatever is required in the current market. The semester exams are well designed in such a way that students have to use their creativity and more in-depth thinking but the pass rate is well above 85% in each class.
Other: I chose the course because I was very interested in computer science and was really ready to grasp new things in this field. The best thing about the course is that the way it is designed is very efficient and takes very little time to learn and implement. The daily day-to-day schedule is very stressful here so the schedule can be improved, all I can say. Here at IIT Guwahati, we have the biggest cultural fest in the north-east, with a walking foot of 1 lac+ each year.

Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati - A dream college for engineers.
Placements: Almost 92 percent of students get placed in CSE at my college. Last year, the highest package was INR 2.4 crore, and the average was around INR 42 LPA. Google, etc., are the top recruiting companies. Almost every student in CSE gets an internship. Software development is the major role offered to us.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is so amazing. It was expected that it would be old-fashioned as the college is so old but it is not so. High-tech labs are there for CSE students. The library is also very good, full of almost every book that one may need during B.Tech. The hostel is somewhat up-to-date. The only negative thing is that rooms are somewhat small; otherwise, they are very good. Sport culture is awesome.
Faculty: Professors are highly qualified. Their knowledge and research are at the next level. However, our teaching style is not the same as what we used to have. Here, no one-to-one interaction is there. The course is curriculum-relevant. Semester exams are not that difficult to pass.
Other: I had chosen this course because I was fascinated by the package. Events and fests at my college are so eye-catching and filled with superstars and entrepreneurs.

My college experiences and life.
Placements: As far as I am concerned, college is very good for placements. Last year, a total of 1425 students applied for placement, and 1112 students got placed. Especially B.Tech students from CSE, math, and computing are hired for higher packages. Last year, the highest package was INR 2.4 crore, which was an international package, and domestically, the highest package stood at INR 1.2 crore. But apart from the great number of packages, students face lots of struggle while preparing for placements. Placement exams are held at whatever time, sometimes at 1 or 2 a.m., and students have a lot of pressure that they never had before, as every parent's and relative's expectations are very high. Apart from placements, some students go for higher studies, and very few build startups.
Infrastructure: As IITs are considered one of the premier institutes, their infrastructure and facilities are also likewise. Campus Wi-Fi is available in our hostel rooms and in campus main buildings like classrooms, libraries, and computer centers. The library is on three floors and filled with various books. Apart from books related to academics, there are a lot more, like books related to general knowledge, popular magazines, etc. Especially useful are those who are good at reading and spend time reading books. The library remains open from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m., but during exam time, it is open all the time. The fun fact is that the library is only busy during mid-semester and end-semester examinations, as most students have a lot of interest in studying. Apart from the library, the college provides us with a computer network center that has lots of well-equipped computers with high Wi-Fi speed facilities, which helps students who don't have their own laptops. The hostel has met my requirements. For freshmen, we get two members per room, but as we go into our third year, we get a single room. I belong to Brahmapur Hostel. We also have a tiny library in the hostel, two canteens, and one stationary shop. Mess food is not that good, as I belong to South India, but the breakfast is especially delicious. If we are not interested in eating from the regular menu, we can also order some special dishes at lower prices. If we talk about medical facilities, we have one hospital run by an institute that is open 24 hours a day; there is no consultancy fee; and even the medicines that we take are absolutely free of charge. The sports and games facilities are very good. We have 2 cricket grounds, 2 badminton indoor halls, volley and volleyball courts, football courts, etc. But every sports court and ground is well maintained. Sports events like spirit and interhostel competitions make people more enthusiastic.
Faculty: The faculty here are very highly qualified candidates who have done their Ph.D. in their respective fields. The teaching quality was good, except for some teachers. Most students don't listen to the classes of faculty and clear semester examinations by studying from YouTube lectures. The course curriculum is relevant, but not 100 percent. Acdamecis is not up-to-date. Especially in the current industry of using AI and chatGPT, they are still spending one semester teaching the basic C language. The students here get ready for industry due to internships and various clubs held by student groups, like coding clubs, etc. Semester exams are really difficult but can be managed if we spend enough time with them. Especially after studying for 2 years tirelessly for JEE, most students won't spend much time studying. But as the grading is relatively simple, our grades depend on how our friends and classmates have written the exam. Sometimes exams are very tough. For example, last year in MA101, the highest score was 45 out of 100, and the passing marks were only 6 out of 100.
Other: I am really interested in computers. I want to explore and gain in-depth knowledge in this field, for which I have joined the course. I am very poor in math, but the good part about my course is that it does not require that much knowledge of mathematics. Events related to technology, like engineering, are held every year, in which people from various colleges participate and win prizes. Alcheringa is the last cultural fest held, and it is the largest fest in northeast India.

Review of IIT Guwahati - Indian Institute of Technology.
Placements: Almost all students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered by JP Morgan is 2.3 CPA. Many top companies visit our college to recruit students. They provide good placement opportunities. Almost 70% of students got internships. Many students got placed as software engineers and programming designers. The top role offered is a consultant.
Infrastructure: Our college provides us with all facilities. Classrooms are equipped with modern teaching instruments. The beauty of the hills in Assam will rejuvenate you every minute. They provide sports facilities.
Faculty: Many faculty members are not good. The course curriculum is updated and industry-friendly. They don't teach unnecessary topics. Semester exams are difficult, but if you know the tricks, you can solve every problem. Almost all students passed.
Other: I opted for this course because of my interest in it, and it is a trending course. This course provides a good salary package.

I am satisfied with the college life, good placements, and beautiful campus.
Placements: Mainly all students are placed in our branch CSE. The highest package is up to 2 crore this year and the lowest package in our branch was 16 LPA. The top recruiters were Amazon, Google, Uber, Ola, Goldmann Sachs, etc., Many students get internships around 60 percent out of the total.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure and facilities are good with some loopholes. Mess food is under changes and is neither bad nor good. Wi-Fi offers good speed. LAN in every room is available as in other IITs. Medical facilities are also good. Although the gym and badminton ground are highly congested still they are okay.
Faculty: Some faculty members are good and some are not. All of them are highly knowledgeable but attending classes is very difficult as they are boring at the same time. The course curriculum is relevant up to a certain extent. I don't think that it makes the student industry-ready. Exams are difficult, we have exams even on Sunday.
