 The institute is ranked 30 among the top colleges of India under the “Engineering” category by NIRF in 2022 rankings. During IIT Jodhpur placements in 2022, the median and average package offered to BTech CSE students was INR 28.7 LPA and INR 28 LPA, respectively.  Admission to the course is entrance-based. Aspirants are required to take JEE Main and JEE Advanced. The selected students based on merit in JEE Advanced further have to participate in JoSAA rounds of counselling. The seat allotment process is then carried out as per performance in counselling and other selection rounds.

For last year, the closing rank for BTech in Materials Engineering was 14435 which is very close to this range. This was for the General category under the All India quota. IIT Jodhpur BSc offers sepcialised programmes in Physics and Chemistry. Candidates who want to take admission into a four year BSc programme can take admission in either of the two specialisations. The eligibility criteria and the tuition fee is the same for both courses.

In addition to that if candidates want to do their BSc with an integrated education degree they can apply for integrated BSc-B.Ed programme, which is offered as part of the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP). NIT Manipur JEE Main cutoff 2024 has been released for admission to the BTech courses. During the Round 1 cutoff, the closing rank for CSE was 25886 for the General category students under the AII India Quota. Among OBC candidates, the closing rank for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering stood at 8750. IIT Jodhpur cutoff for BTech CSE has been released for various categories including OBC. Released upto six rounds, JEE Advanced closing rank 2023 for IIT Jodpur range between 1276 and 1363. From R2 to R5, the closing rank for BTech CSE remained consistent at 1348. For R1 it was 1276 and for R6 it was 1363.
