IIT Patna review for B.Tech. in Civil Engineering.

Placements: About 75% of our course's students were placed after graduation. The highest salary offered was 40 LPA, the lowest was 7 LPA, and the average package was 12 LPA. The top recruiting companies are L&T and TVS. If you want to do an internship in this course, you will have to try off-campus. The top roles are structural engineer, site engineer, and project manager.

Infrastructure: The college has good Wi-Fi in every building and in each classroom. The Wi-Fi speed is very good, averaging around 400 mbps and sometimes going as high as 1 gbps. The sports facilities are very nice, with a specific ground for every sport. We can find almost any sport we want to play at our college. There's a 24x7 hospital facility on campus, and the canteen has Nescafe, Angeethi, and Banjara to eat.

Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and qualified. Every teacher has a Ph.D. degree from a top university in India or abroad. The course curriculum is relevant and industry-ready, and semester exams are of moderate difficulty. Nearly 95% of students pass the exams.

Other: I chose this course because of my rank, and I genuinely like it. The events and fests are good, but connectivity is not so good. You have to come to Bihta, which is almost 35 km from Patna, and then take an auto, which charges a lot.

IIT Patna is a very good college.

Placements: There are many opportunities for students in college. Placement is awesome. The highest package is 1 crore this year, and the lowest package is around 12 LPA. Top companies are Atlassian, Paytm, and many others. Internship opportunities are less, only for Computer Science students.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is excellent and outstanding. The campus is green, and there are many constructions ongoing. All departments and their labs are well-equipped with proper machines and desktops. The hostel is decent, but it is a sharing room. And the mess food is not so good.

Faculty: The teachers are full of knowledge and willing to share their knowledge anytime. You can clear your doubts with proof anytime. They are helpful, and also the Ph.D. teaching assistants are also helpful and clear all your doubts. The course curriculum is relevant and related to daily life activities. Semester exams are tough.

Other: I chose the civil engineering course in IIT Patna because my rank is not so good, so I couldn't opt for Bombay CSE. But civil engineering is also interesting. You get real-life application. But if you are not interested, you can do coding. There are three fests: Infinito - sports fest, Celesta - tech fest, and Anwesha - cultural fest.

It is a good College which is defamed due to it’s location.

Placements: This year, the placements were very low, as you can see in all the IITs. In IIT Patna, only 50% students got placed with the highest package being around 1 crore which was an off-campus placement. This year Fitjee visited offering a package of 2 crores to 3 students, but who received the offer is still a mystery. Google and Microsoft did not visit this year.

Infrastructure: For each department, there is a dedicated block where we have all the labs and dedicated workshops for Civil as well. There is a common library in the college along with a departmental library as well. In our hostel, we have an occupancy of 3 students per room. I reside in CV Raman hostel and we don't have any canteen in the hostel but there are nice outlets outside the hostel. The mess is also good here.

Faculty: Teachers and the faculty is very helpful, they teach well if you listen carefully in the class. The course is not relevant as NEP is not implemented and we are still taught the old courses. Semester exams are very tough, if you do not study for 2-3 days in advance, you won't be able to pass easily.

Other: Civil was a choice made by my parents, I did not choose it. Civil has various dimensions in the general world. Every time you see a building, civil engineers cross your mind. For improving this course they should have more practical approach than theoretical. Fests and events are held on a regular basis every month. The fest continues for 2 months. The college has many extracurricular activities ranging from drama, Yavanika music area to sports, finance clubs and others. Scholarships are offered to those who are economically weak.

College with great placements and amazing opportunities for extra curricular activities.

Placements: Some of the top branches like CSE, EEE, and ME in our college have 100% placement record but core branches like Chemical, Civil, Metullargy have to suffer for placements. Most of the top companies like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe does not allow core branches during campus placements. Average package of our college is 28 Lacs per annum.

Infrastructure: All the departments of our college have digital classrooms, fully functional labs, high-speed 24*7 Wi-Fi connectivity. First and second year students get double occupancy room and third year onwards students get single occupancy rooms. Personal Cub boards, table, and chair is also provided in the hostel. Sports facilities are amazing, you can learn and play any sports you want.

Faculty: Course curriculum matches with needs of industries and lectures are delivered in English language. Teachers are very helpful and have good teaching skills. Semester exams are easy, our batch have 100% pass percentage. Students needs not to buy books, all books are available in the library.

Very satisfied because of view, good faculty and really good infrastructure and facilities.

Placements: There are around 80 students in my course of 2023 batch. The highest package offered in Civil Engineering is around 50 lacs and the lowest package is around 5 Lacs. Recruiting companies include Tata Ltd. Around 70% students got internships. Roles offered are that of structural engineer, materials engineer, etc.

Infrastructure: There are very good infrastructure facilities for civil students in the college. There is a common library, high-speed Wi-Fi, good labs and good classrooms available. There are three hostels for boys which are very good and new buildings having good rooms. The food in the mess is little tough to eat for south Indians but it is very healthy. There is a hospital in the campus which is open 24/7. There many sports like cricket, basketball and indoor games available.

Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is very good but they teach around 300 students at a time in the 1st year. The civil course has a very good curriculum and it makes the students industry ready. The semester exams are not that difficult. The passing percentage is decided on relative grading.

Other: I was interested in Civil Engineering from the very beginning and also interested in Government jobs, so I chose this course. The course has not yet started for us, it starts from 2nd year, there is no clarity about it. But the fests are crazy and extraordinary. The campus crowd is very good and there are many scholarships.
