Requirements for 12th grade Up Arrow Icon

Candidate must satisfy at least one of the following two criteria with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in the year of first appearance in the Class XII (or equivalent examination), i.e. in either 2023 or 2024: Candidate must have passed class 12th or equivalent examination with a minimum of five subjects and with the mentioned marks in aggregate (65% for PwD candidates) from a recognized board. OR Candidate must have passed class 12th or equivalent examination with minimum of five subjects and be within the category-wise (category as per the central list) top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class XII (or equivalent) board examination. Other mandatory Criteria: Candidate who had appeared in Class 12th or equivalent examination for the first time in 2022 or earlier, are NOT eligible to appear irrespective of the combination or number of subjects attempted/offered. However, if the exam Board of Class 12th or equivalent declared the results for the academic year 2021-22 on or after September 21, 2022, then the candidates of that Board who appeared for their Class 12th or equivalent exam in 2022 are also eligible appear in JEE (Advanced) 2024, provided they meet all the other eligibility criteria. In case the exam Board of class 12th or equivalent declared the results for the academic year 2021-22 before September 21, 2022 but the result of a particular candidate was withheld, then the candidate will not be eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2024. NOTE: List of Qualifying Examinations (QE): - The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by a Central or State Board recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). - Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a Board or University recognized by the Association of Indian Universities. - Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy. - Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects. - Any Public School, Board or University examination in India or in a foreign country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the AIU. - H.S.C. vocational examination. - In case the Class XII examination is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination earlier.

Candidates who have been admitted to a preparatory course in any of the IITs for the first time in 2023 can appear in JEE (Advanced) 2024. The candidates who were allocated a seat in an IIT through JoSAA 2023 but (i) did not report “online” / at any “reporting centre” OR, (ii) withdrew before the last round of seat allotment, OR, (iii) had their seat cancelled (for whatever reason) before the last round of seat allotment for IITs, are eligible to appear for JEE (Advanced) 2024.

Review of IIT Roorkee - Indian Institute of Technology.

Placements: As it is an IIT, almost every student gets placement. Google is the top recruiting company. The average salary package offered was 10 LPA. Some students got salary packages of more than 20 LPA. Many students started their own start-ups.

Infrastructure: The hostel facilities were good. The hostel building was well-designed. The campus had Wi-Fi facilities. The garden was well-maintained. The quality of the food was also good. There were many sports activities, like cricket.

Faculty: The behaviour of teachers and their commitment level were good. Teachers had good teaching experience. Many teachers have worked for companies like Microsoft. The course curriculum was relevant and demanding. Passing semester exams is not hard.

Other: Co-curricular activities were good.

It is one of the best engineering colleges in India.

Placements: There are 35 students in our batch. Approximately 90% of students are placed and the rest 10% either opt for higher studies in foreign universities or UPSC. The average salary package offered is 19.36 LPA. The highest salary package offered is 46 LPA. Top recruiters are Microsoft, Facebook, Goldman Sachs, Adobe, Sprinkler, and Amazon. Almost 6 students got foreign internships in core companies and the minimum salary package offered is 2.5 LPA. Around 1 student placed in Microsoft, and 2 students placed in Amazon. The maximum salary package offered is 25 LPA. Many students get selected for the best colleges in foreign for higher studies.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is enabled on campus, and the speed is around 100-200 Mbps. LAN port is available in every room and the speed is 1 Gbps. Lecture halls and sports facilities are world-class. There are many canteens and the food quality is good. The food served in the mess is better. Hostel rooms are not good compared to other new IITs.

Faculty: In this college, professors are very good and they are supportive. Few teachers are rude. Our course curriculum is easy compared to other IITs. It is also easy to score in biotechnology.

Other: Our campus location is very good. There are many tourist places nearby. Thomso is a very famous fest in Asia. General scholarships are based on family income. Students whose family income is less than 1 LPA get 100% of the tuition as a fee waiver and income less than 4.5 LPA will get 66% of the waiver. Our campus life is the best.

IITR had good placements in the year 2022.

Placements: Placements in IITR are pretty good. Almost 94% of the applied students got placed this year from the biotechnology department. The salary package offered was around 25 LPA to 15 LPA. The top recruiters here included Sprinklr and Adloid. The internship season was also pretty good this time, and a few students even got foreign interns. Top roles offered included SDE, data analyst, PM, etc.

Infrastructure: The facilities are good apart from being a pretty old college. Labs in the biotechnology department have all the equipment. Mahatma Gandhi central library contains a huge variety of books. The central library of our institute is one of the best academic libraries in the country. The food served in the mess is average, and each bhawan has its own canteen.

Faculty: All the biotechnology department and other departments professors have earned a doctoral degree in the appropriate areas. All of them are very knowledgeable. The biotechnology course curriculum is research-oriented, and students who are interested in core often opt for higher studies. Semester exams are often quite difficult, but it all depends on the professors. The pass percentage is always around 90%.

The college has very good infrastructure, facilities, great community and strong alumni connection.

Placements: Placements in our college are 100%. Students get internship opportunities from almost every sector. Most of them get pre-placement offers. Many students also do a winter internship, and every student has to do summer internships compulsorily. Training and placement cells ensure that internship opportunity is accessible to all.

Infrastructure: There is also a department-wise library apart from the central library. Wi-Fi facility is available on the campus and internet is available at a speed of 1 Gbps which is to be updated to 10 Gbps soon. OFC is already deployed on the campus. Canteens are available 24x7 at various locations, and all sports and games are also available here.

Faculty: There are theoretical courses, which is a bit boring. Some application-based courses are also available, which is quite interesting. There are also lab courses to explore the research work and a B.Tech project to work with our interest area.

Good infrastructure, facilities, placements.

Placements: The placements this year were very high and around 1200 were placed out of total registered students of 1515. The success rate was over 70% which is very healthy. Many companies gave more than Rs. 8 lakhs per annum package. Overall, placements were very good. Companies like Facebook and Goldman Sachs also hired some students.

Infrastructure: The college has very sustainable facilities updated and secured every day. The college and departments include Wifi at the LAN speed of 100 Mbps. There is one hospital also inside the campus which works for 24 hours. There are also medical facilities. For sports, there are two playgrounds inside the college campus. There is also a student club for indoor games.

Faculty: The faculty in the college is very helpful. Each faculty member has specialized in their very core subjects and has at least done either MSc or Ph.D from the reputed colleges from India and also from other countries. They contain a very vast knowledge about their core subjects. They use written lessons, verbal discussions and ppt also. The student to faculty ratio is around 50: 1 which is very healthy. There is also an industrial trip in the third year for every student. The course curriculum is useful.
