    Value for money college.
Placements: Percentage of placement for computer engineers is very good, around 70-80% of students find their placement offer. The highest package is 18 LPA, and the average is 8-9 LPA. Top recruiters are Optum, Zenon Analytics, and Samsung. Only a few opportunities for internships.
Infrastructure: As Jamia is a central university, its infrastructure is well developed and has lots of facilities like Wi-Fi across the whole campus (mostly around the main building) and a separate library specially for engineering students. They also have medical first aid clinics for their students for free checkups.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified, experienced, and well-educated. The behavior of teachers is very friendly, and they always help you if you ask for projects and hackathons. The course curriculum is not much relevant as compared to present technology changes, but overall good. Semester exams are of moderate level, mostly from previous year's questions.

Overall, the placements are decent and the hostels have a healthy atmosphere.
Placements: There is about 85-90 percent placement in B.Tech CS. But the average package is decent and is about 10 LPA. It's a good thing you can get a decent placement by spending only 64k for your B.Tech course. The highest off-campus placement is about 70 LPA. The only thing you have to do is a good beginning from your first year. Work on your skills. And hostels are also too good here, and the sports complex, etc., are well maintained. There is free Wi-Fi in the hostels and classes. You will have your library in the respective departments. There is a central library consisting of 2.7 Lacs books and a very healthy atmosphere here. But there are low chances of getting an internship here. You have to work hard for your internship, but you will also get good support from the faculty. There are many opportunities, but you have to prove your worth.
Infrastructure: Facilities are great, and Wi-Fi speed is okay, about 25-30 Mbps. The classrooms are great. One thing which can be appreciated is the hostels are so well maintained. The hostel menu is also great. The medical facilities are also great. The thing I like most is about the maintenance of the sports complex.
Faculty: As compared to JEE, the exams are easy, but they are of moderate level. No government college makes you for the industry except a few IITs, NITs, and IIITs. You have to work on your skills and make yourself ready for the industry. The course curriculum is relevant.
Other: In B.Tech this year, self-finance courses have been introduced. The fees are approximately 1.5 LPA excluding hostel fees. Hostel fees are around 50k per year, but it’s worth every penny. The hostel food is too good compared to the food available on the roadside.

College is quite good as the ROI is very good.
Placements: Around 70% of computer engineering students are placed. Top recruiters are Accenture, Zenon Analytics, and ZS Associates. Around 40% of students got internships, but it solely depends on the students. The top roles offered were related to consulting, full-stack development, and software development.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very average according to me. Wi-Fi is available all over the campus, and we have libraries for different departments. The central library is fully air-conditioned, but engineering library has only fans. We have all the basic amenities in the hostel, and hostel food is quite good. We also have a sports complex, but the timing is not feasible for students as it is closed on weekends.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable. Course curriculum is quite relevant as data science is the fastest-growing technology nowadays. Semester exams are medium-level. Currently, I am in the first semester, so I don't know about the passing percentage.
Other: This is the only college I could get into with my JEE rank, the best thing about my course is that it is the most emerging technology nowadays. I think the curriculum could have been better, and the events and fests are very few compared to other colleges.

Overall satisfied with placements but not with faculty and crowd. Campus is just okay not so good.
Placements: In the year 2023, approximately 70-80% students were placed with the highest package of 60 LPA offered by Atlassian and the lowest package was 3 LPA offered by TCS and Infosys. The average package in 2023 was approximately 8-9 LPA. Top recruiters were Amazon, TCS, Deloitte, Microsoft, Infosys, IBM, Accenture, and Atlassian. About internships, approximately 70-75% of the students got internships last year in various companies like HCl, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Chegg, etc. Top roles in our course are: Web Designer, Software Engineer, System Analyst, etc.
Infrastructure: Faculty of Engineering is good and well in infrastructure having AC classrooms and labs also equipped with Wi-Fi. Library also got Wi-Fi and comfortable seating. Talking about hostel, many students face difficulties in enrollment in hostels as there are only limited seats in the hostel. But the hostel rooms are spacious, having separate B.Ed study table and chair and also equipped with Wi-Fi. Each room has a balcony. Food quality of the canteen of FET (Faculty of Engineering and Technology) is not that good, but the hostel mess offers a good quality and hygienic food. Students are provided free healthcare and checkups. Talking about the sports complex, it’s also big and charming.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified, helpful also, but the teaching quality is not up to the mark. Professors don't seem to be knowledgeable, the teaching quality is not that good, curriculum is also outdated and does not help students to be industry-ready, semester exams are not that easy, but if you study averagely, you will not face difficulty passing those exams, pass percentage is approximately 70-80%.
Other: I chose Computer Engineering because I aspire to be a coder/programmer, I chose Jamia Millia Islamia because I wanted to study in New Delhi for more exposure and opportunities.

    Dissatisfied with placements.
Placements: Placement in our college is pretty good when compared to other government colleges. Sixty percent of students were placed from my department of computer engineering. There are many reputed recruiting companies in our college like Siemens, TCS, Oracle, etc. Nearly forty percent of students got internships in companies like Accenture and EXL. Roles offered in my course mainly comprise Junior Software Engineer and Software Analyst.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure and facilities are pretty good when compared to the fee structure, which includes smart classrooms, an Apple lab, a design lab, a common room, Wi-Fi, a library, and affordable canteen food. Hostels are limited compared to the student strength, but the food and facilities are good.
Faculty: I think my faculty is supportive and has decent qualifications. They solve our problems. Most of the course curriculum is relevant in our department, which prepares us for jobs. Semester exams are pretty good, not too tough; some can easily pass the exams.
Other: My course is in high demand in the field of engineering and automation, has a lot of value in companies, and the packages are decent when compared to other courses.

    A:

The answer to whether BTech from Jamia Millia Islamia is good or not depends on a lot of factors. All these factors are listed below one after another:

    • Specialisations: BTech at Jamia is available across the five most common specialisations, namely, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Electronics & Communication and Mechanical Engineering. In a world where more in-depth specialisations, such as Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are trending the university still sticks to the basic courses. For students looking out for core information on the trending areas of AI and ML, it can't be considered a good option. But in case, a student wishes to stay with the traditional branches, Jamia Millia Islamia can be a good option.
    • Placements: Another factor that comes into consideration while choosing a college for a course is its return on investment value. The same can be calculated basis of the kind of placements offered to the students. As per the data collated from the verified students' reviews on Shikhsa, the majority of students mention that 70-90% of BTech students get placement opportunities from Jamia.  Additionally, the salary packages start from INR 3-4 LPA as the lowest and go up to even INR 25 Lacs per annum for some students.
    • Fee: While the general fee for BTech ranges from INR 2 to 5 Lacs per annum for colleges in India, Jamia Millia Islamia charges INR 16,150 annually for its BTech programme which is extremely low. Hence, concerning the fee, Jamia Millia Islamia is a great option for BTech.
