In order to fulfil the IIT JAM 2025 eligibility criteria, candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree. Earlier, there was a CGPA cutoff, but this year onwards, candidates need to just pass the qualifying degree.
Candidates who have appeared or will appear for their graduation exams in 2025 are also eligible to apply, provided they submit the proof by September 2025.
For the admission process, candidates who pass the IIT JAM 2025 exam will be eligible to apply for the admission process.

IIT JAM 2025 Seat Intake

There are around 3000 seats in postgraduate programmes at 21 IITs for the academic year 2025-25. JAM 2025 Scores will be used to admit the candidates subject to satisfying the ERs and MEQs and any other requirements, without any additional interview or written test. Result Sharing Institutes: JAM scores will be used for admission to over 2300 seats for postgraduate programmes such as MSc and MA at IISc and various NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET, DIAT through Centralized Counselling for MSc / MSc (Tech.) Admission (CCMN).

CCMN Counselling Through IIT JAM 2025 Score

IIT JAM 2025 Scorecard is also helpful for the candidates who wish to take admissions in the MSc and MSc (Tech) courses offered at NITs, IIEST Shibpur and some CFTI institutes through the CCMN process 2025. (Centralized Common Counselling).

The organising institute will notify the CCMN 2025 counselling schedule dates in the third week of May 2025, tentatively on the official website. CCMN application form 2025 will be released in the fourth week of May 2025, tentatively on the CCMN official web portal. CCMN Merit List 2025 for seat allotment will be prepared based on the ″Common Percentile″ (calculated from the JAM Rank of the year 2024) obtained by the candidate. The CCMN 2025 counselling is for full-time seats carrying scholarships. It is NOT for candidates seeking admission to Sponsored Seats or part-time programmes.

IIT JAM 2025 Examination Centres

The JAM 2025 entrance exam is expected to be conducted across 103 cities that are divided into eight zones. There can be more than one IIT JAM exam centre in one city. The exact IIT JAM exam centre details were mentioned on the admit cards issued to candidates. Last year, the exam authorities announced two more exam cities, Port Blair and Haldwani.

Candidates need to select up to three exam cities in order of preference at the time of filling out the IIT JAM application form. However, it may be noted that the first two exam cities should be from the same zone. Candidates may select the third exam city anywhere within India. The zone-wise list of IIT JAM exam centres 2024 will be released by IIT Delhi along with the exam notification.

IIT JAM 2025 Admit Card

The admit card for IIT JAM 2025 will be released by IIT Delhi in the first week of January 2025, tentatively. Only those candidates who have successfully completed the application process by paying the application fee will be eligible to download the IIT JAM 2025 admit card. The admit card for IIT JAM 2025 is a mandatory document to be carried at the exam centre as well as during the counselling process. Hence, it must be preserved properly till the admission process is complete. The IIT JAM admit card carried candidates' personal information, exam day venue, address, instructions and related details.

IIT JAM 2025 Exam Analysis and Student Reactions

As the JAM 2025 exam is yet to commence, test takers can go through the previous year's exam analysis from here:

The majority of the students appeared for Mathematics and Chemistry papers in the morning shift. There were a few takers of the Geology paper. The Mathematics section was difficult compared to the previous year. The Chemistry section has been rated as easy to moderate. IIT JAM 2024 exam shift 1 was found to be moderately easy by the maximum number of candidates who appeared for Mathematics, Chemistry, and Geology subjects. Questions were designed in such a manner to test their analytical and practical approach of the concerned subject.

According to the students the IIT JAM 2024 Chemistry Question Paper was comparatively lengthy. The exam can be categorised as Moderate to Difficult.

According to the students who appeared in the exam, the good attempts for the IIT JAM 2024 Chemistry Question Paper can be considered as 25-30 questions with 90% accuracy. The IIT JAM Chemistry expected cutoff this year might be in between 25 to 30 marks according to some coaching institutes.

IIT JAM 2025 Answer Key

IIT Delhi will release the IIT JAM 2025 answer key in the second week of February 2025, tentatively. Candidates can download the IIT JAM 2025 answer key by using their login credentials. In case of any discrepancy, candidates will be able to submit challenges within the time issued by the authority by logging into the IIT JAM 2025 candidate portal.

Candidates will also given the option to file objections against the provisional IIT JAM 2025 answer keys by paying a fee of INR 500 per question. Candidates' OMR sheets will be released along with the answer keys. With the help of the answer keys of IIT JAM 2025, candidates will be able to calculate their estimated scores in the exam and assume which college and branch they are likely to get admission to. The final answer keys will be released along with the result.

IIT JAM 2025 Result

The result of IIT JAM 2025 will be released on March 16, 2025. Candidates will able to download their scorecards by logging in using their enrolment ID or email ID along with the password. The scorecard will be released within a few days of declaring the result. The last date to download the IIT JAM scorecard is likely to be in July 2025. The IIT JAM result 2025 would declare candidates' scores as well as the All India Rank (AIR). Qualified candidates will be called for the final admission process or the counselling rounds.

IIT JAM 2025 Topper's List

Upon the declaration of the result, the exam authorities will release the list of toppers in the order of their AIR. As the IIT JAM 2025 is yet to commence, candidates can go through the JAM 2024 Topper's list.

IIT JAM 2025 Counselling

IIT JAM 2025 online application process for counselling will start from April 2, 2025 onwards. Test takers who have qualified for the JAM 2025 examination will be eligible to sit in the JAM 2025 admission counselling process. The last date for filling out the JAM 2025 counselling application form will be notified soon.

Selection of the candidates is done as per the merit secured in IIT JAM 2025. Four rounds of admissions are planned but the number of rounds of admission or counselling rounds may increase in case seats remain vacant. IIT JAM 2025 counselling is being conducted as a Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for all the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
