Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

It is one of the good affordable colleges.
Placements: About 20% of students get placed every year. The highest salary package offered to students is 8 LPA. The average salary package offered ranges from 3-4 LPA. Around 60-70% of students get internships, and you can also apply for the off-campus. If you have extra skills, then you can get better jobs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities available on the campus are of the top class. The department buildings have Wi-Fi. Labs are also very well-equipped. Hostels are good, but the mess is below average. But you have to take mess if you want to live in the hostel. The college has a football and cricket team.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is average. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams are not that difficult. About 85% of students pass every year.
Other: I have chosen this course because I am interested in the chemical engineering course.

Summarizing the college, It is overall the best one can get. Diversity, best campus life and more.
Placements: Considering Chemical engineering branch, I will say that placements are below moderate. In the previous year, one core had visited the college through campus drive and the same with this year. But the TPO ( training and placements officer) gives exposure to many companies and also arranges for interview but here you have to compromise on your package. In the other case, Department like IT, Comp, Entc have large scope of placements. This year about 1230 students were placed in companies such as Infosys, Cognizant and Accenture. Overall the placements in Sinhgad College of engineering is moderate.
Infrastructure: I would say that Sinhgad College of Engineering has best ever infrastructure compared to any other colleges. They are such consturcted that once you enter the building it feels like heaven. Not only about one department building but any building. In summers, I would say that it is the best to be in. All the most important part is that every department are connected to each other. Providing less effort to move from one place to other.
Faculty: Sinhgad College of Engineering recruits only highly qualified faculties. When you pick any 5 faculties 3-4 or even 5 of them are either Ph.D. holder or Post graduate. This helps students to gain knowledge at its best. They are very helpful in nature and are ready to help the students at any difficulties. Talking about the course and curriculum, it is decided by the University of Pune and they are best suited for the Degree.
Other: Sinhgad Karandak, the best ever event that takes place in the college every year in the month of February. It almost lasts for a week or sometimes more than week. In this period of time, you will get to see the best ever atmosphere in the campus. Campus of the college is literally very huge. Basically it consists of nursery to your post graduation school and college. So one can imagine the campus area and as well as the crowd. Having management college, the college attracts crowd from different parts of the world. There are hostel facilities for everyone and separate for NRI students.

The dark truth about Sinhgad College of Engineering.
Placements: The problem with placements is that it has only a few companies for students. Most of the seniors have told me that we should try off-campus. Placements for chemical engineering are good. Only a few companies visit our college and provide product-based jobs. We can get jobs on petroleum-like things.
Infrastructure: The hostel is average. The infrastructure of the hostel is good. Buildings are easy to understand. There are xerox and food products inside the campus. We don't have to travel outside of college. Our college has stationery so students can buy pens and anything else.
Faculty: The exam faculty members are rude sometimes. Some professors are not friendly. Sometimes asking questions can upset them, and they don't provide important signs for hall tickets or submissions. Completing the submission is the hardest task at Sinhgad College of Engineering.
Other: The campus is good. Due to an increase in gang activity and fights, it can sometimes feel dangerous.

The college is poor in every aspect.
Placements: The placements are very bad. The highest package of this year was 1.8 LPA. Very less number of students got placed this year. This year mass recruiters did not come. There is a placement cell, but there is of no use. The internship provided by the college are only paid internships that too they are charging very high.
Infrastructure: The smell of washrooms come until classrooms. The quality of food is average. Wi-Fi facility provided by the college gives speed in double digits kbps. Hostel rooms are average, and there is no issue of electricity and water. IT building is new and maintained. It has a proper auditorium.
Faculty: The faculty keeps on doing strike due to their payment issues. The teachers here have no knowledge of their subject as they keep on changing their subject each semester. Most of them don't even know English. None of them shows any interest in teaching. If you want to study then, this is not a right place.
Other: Events are okay. Lot of greenery in the campus is the plus point in this college.

Great campus and a fair mix of knowledge and exposure.
Placements: The placements were good. Many students got placed in IT sector with a reasonably good package. Companies like Accenture, Infosys and Cognizant did mass recruitment. Also, few got selected in core companies. The overall packages offered were fairly great.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite maintained. Right from our practical labs to the library to classrooms, we were well-equipped with everything. There were other facilities like campus clinic, a good amount of cafes and canteen and five-storey reading room available for 24 hours.
Faculty: The faculty had 10+ years experience in their respective subjects. A mix use of PowerPoint presentation and oral communication techniques were used. There were also guest lectures which gave us industry exposure and trending opportunities in the sector.
