What is the Minimum Marks to Qualify JEE Advanced 2025

Minimum Marks Required in JEE Advanced 2025 for IIT: The conducting IIT will release the minimum JEE Advanced marks candidates need to be eligible for IIT admission with the JEE Advanced 2025 result. Until the JEE Advanced 2025 cutoff marks are released, candidates can check and analyse the cutoff from the previous few years.

The candidates have to pass the minimum marks prescribed by the authorities both in each subject of the JEE Advanced exam individually and also in total. The marks obtained by a candidate in Physics in JEE Advanced 2025 will be equal to the marks scored in the Physics part of Paper 1 plus the marks scored in the Physics part of Paper 2. Marks obtained in Chemistry and Mathematics will be calculated in the same way. The total aggregate marks will be the total marks of the candidates in paper 1 and paper 2 together.

In the year 2023, there has been a rise in the cutoff marks and cutoff percentage. In the year 2024 too, the minimum percentage needed to pass JEE Advanced is higher than usual. JEE Advanced cutoff implies the minimum percentage of marks that aspirants need to acquire for inclusion in JEE Advanced rank list. Only candidates who will score the minimum prescribed marks in each subject and aggregate will be included in the rank list. These marks will determine a candidate’s admission to the premier IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology).

A:

No. Candidates who appeared in Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2023, are NOT eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2025. Candidates who passed Class 12 in 2024 or 2025 are eligible for JEE Advanced 2025. Since you have appeared for class 12 boards for the first time in 2023 you are NOT eligible for JEE Advanced 2025.

Q:   How many attempts are there for JEE Advanced?

A:

A candidate can attempt JEE Advanced two times in two consecutive years. The candidates who will be appearing for JEE Advanced 2025 for the first time, can also appear for JEE Advanced 2026. Similary, candidates who have attempted JEE Advanced in 2024 for the first time can attempt JEE Advanced 2025. However, the candidates who have attempted JEE Advanced 2023 cannot attempt JEE Advanced 2025, as only two consecitive attempts are allowed in the exam.

Q:   Can a Diploma student apply for JEE Advanced directly?

A:
No, Diploma students are not eligible to appear directly for JEE Advanced. The Joint Entrance Examination JEE Advanced is the second stage of the two-part entrance exam conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering programs in the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). To be eligible for JEE Advanced. Candidates must fulfill the following criteria: 1. Qualification: Candidates must have appeared for JEE Main and obtained a rank within the specified cutoff. JEE Main is the first stage of the entrance exam and serves as a screening test for JEE Advanced. 2. Educational Qualification: For admission to IITs, candidates must have either completed their 10+2 (or equivalent) examination in the current or previous year or be appearing for it in the current year. Diploma students, on the other hand, have completed a different qualification and are not considered under this eligibility criterion. 3. Age Limit: Candidates must satisfy the age limit criteria as specified by the conducting authority. Since Diploma students have pursued a different educational path, they are not directly eligible for JEE Advanced based on their Diploma qualification. However, after completing their Diploma, they can consider lateral entry options to join engineering programs in colleges or universities. It's important to note that specific eligibility criteria and admission processes may vary depending on the institute and its policies. Therefore, it's advisable to thoroughly check the official websites of the respective institutes or the official JEE website for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding eligibility and admission criteria for JEE Advanced.

Q:   What is the criteria for JEE Advanced exam?

A:
The Advanced Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an entrance examination for admission to undergraduate programs in engineering, architecture, and Science in prestigious institutions such as the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs). The JEE Advanced exam is conducted by one of the IITs on behalf of the Joint Admission Board (JAB). The exam consists of two papers, each of three hours duration, which are conducted on the same day. The questions in the exam are based on the topics covered in the JEE Main exam, which is the first stage of the JEE. Only those candidates who qualify in the JEE Main exam are eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced exam. The JEE Advanced exam results are based on the total marks obtained by the candidates in both papers. The results are declared online on the official website of JEE Advanced. The minimum marks required for inclusion in the merit list are known as the cutoff marks, which are determined by the JAB. The merit list is prepared based on the total marks obtained by the candidates in both papers of the JEE Advanced exam. In case of a tie between two or more candidates, the following criteria are used for merit listing: Higher marks in Mathematics Higher marks in Physics Age of the candidate, with older candidates being given higher preference The merit list is used by the participating institutions for the allocation of seats. The candidates are required to fill their choices of courses and colleges online, and the seats are allocated based on their ranks in the merit list, the availability of seats, and the candidate's preferences. In conclusion, the JEE Advanced exam results are based on the total marks obtained by the candidates in both papers. The merit list is prepared based on the total marks obtained, and tie-breaking criteria are used in case of a tie. The merit list is used by the participating institutions for the allocation of seats.

Q:   What subjects are considered for JEE Advanced eligibility?

A:
For Joint Entrance Examination Advanced the minimum qualifying mark is 75 percent in class 12. Students need to have studied subjects like Mathematics, Physics Chemistry and English or Hindi. JEE Advanced Chemistry syllabus: General topics, Ores and minerals, Extractive metallurgy, Principles of qualitative analysis, Concepts, Preparation, properties and reactions of alkanes, Preparation, properties, and reactions of alkenes and alkynes, Reactions of benzene, Phenols, Gaseous and liquid states, Atomic structure and chemical bonding, Energetics, Chemical Equilibrium Electrochemistry, Chemical kinetics, Solid state, Solutions, Surface Chemistry Nuclear Chemistry Isolation/preparation, and properties of the following non-metals, Preparation, and properties of the following compounds, Transition elements (3d series), Preparation and properties of the following compounds, Characteristic reactions of the following (including those mentioned above), Carbohydrates, Amino acids and peptides, Properties and uses of some important polymers, Practical Organic Chemistry.
