TNEA rank list is used to offer admissions to candidates in undergraduate programmes like Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in colleges of Tamil Nadu. Candidates must note that TNEA written exam has been scrapped as the counselling is based on Class 12 marks and therefore seats are allotted in the colleges through the TNEA rank list.

Q:   What is the scope of aeronautical engineering in India?

A:

Well, this is a difficult question to answer in every aspect, of course, you get a lot of opportunities in government and private sector but it isn't enough. I guess nothing is enough and that shouldn't stop you from taking up this course or profession if you are passionate about it and things involved interests you.

Talking about what all can you do after Aeronautical Engineering?

1) Maintenance of Aircraft- You can work as an Aeronautical Maintenance Engineer where you will test new aerodynamic and aviation systems and maintain them.

2) Aircraft Designer - You can get involved in designing, constructing, and testing aircraft, missiles, and spacecrafts. Here, you may conduct research to evaluate adaptability of materials and equipment with respect to aircraft design and manufacture.

4) Defence - You can also work in the defense sector working on defence aircrafts such as fighter jets, choppers, bombers, etc. Also, the job requires being able to handle such aircraft at necessary times.

Further, where all can you work?

You can work in government sector with ISRO, DRDO, HAL, etc., and then you can look at private companies such as L&T, Godrej & Boyce aerospace, Boeing, Airbus, Mahindra, etc. The opportunities are endless.

Thanks. Have a good day.

I hope this helps All the best.

Q:   What are the salary packages for an aerospace engineer?

A:

Hello, I would try to give out as rational an answer as possible. Salaries or CTC varies across India for the same qualification. Hence one answer may NOT fit all situations. For example, a CSE branch graduate from IIT Mumbai is likely to bag a big offer as compared with a CSE graduate from say a small place in Maharashtra. Also, the demand-supply position matters a lot. However, I can say that if one gets a Govt. job, the salary could be 1.5L per month. But in the private sector, it could be 75K per month. Experience will earn you more. Best wishes to you.

Q:   What is the work of an Aeronautical Engineer?

A:

An Aeronautical Engineer works with aircraft and their primary job is to design aircraft and propulsion systems but with time, the engineers are given many more responsibilities to carry out, such as:

  • The Aeronautical engineers study the mechanisms of aircraft.
  • They work for a career in aeroplanes, airplanes, jet planes and space shuttles.
  • They ensure that the aircraft, space shuttles or satellites are functioning properly and are undergoing maintenance regularly. Therefore, the work of an aeronautical engineer is very challenging and rewarding.
