TS ICET 2024: Last Week Preparation Tips

  1. Make a timetable for revision: In the last seven days, candidates should avoid revision of topics by random selection. They should create a timetable and allot specific duration to comparatively weak topics that carry higher weightage in the question paper. Candidates should not spend time on passive revision. Practice sample questions from the revised topics simultaneously.
  2. Revise summarised notes: Candidates should revise from the notes they had made during the earlier stage of TS ICET preparation. At this stage, they should avoid going through lengthy notes aligned with book language. Creating short and crisp notes in easily comprehensible language will utilise their understanding while making notes. This acts as an excellent revision exercise. Reading these notes at least once a day will help them remember important concepts and formulae.
  3. Avoid Starting New Topics: Test takers should not start any new topic in the last week before the exam. It will not only disrupt their revision plan but also create confusion. Moreover, there is not enough time to grasp a new concept altogether.
  4. Focus on improving accuracy and speed:- As per the TS ICET exam pattern; candidates will have to answer 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in 150 minutes. A mix of smart strategies and shortcuts will help candidates answer 200 questions within the time limit and solve tricky questions with 100 per cent accuracy. Test takers need to be both quick and accurate. Accuracy and speed come by practising the TS ICET sample question paper. The more they practice, the better they will get at solving questions in lesser time.
  5. Don’t neglect strong areas: While revising and attempting TS ICET mock tests, aspirants should ensure not to focus only on weaker areas. You need to revise and practice topics that are your strong area, equally well. Exams tend to arouse a sense of nervousness. Thus, to stay away from unnecessary stress, focus on individual strengths.

TS ICET 2024 Exam Taking Strategy

  1. Learn to select the right question: While practicing sample questions, candidates should take note of the types of questions they are able to solve easily. Since TS ICET is a speed-based test and includes calculation-heavy questions, one needs to be careful about selecting the questions wisely. Noting down the sets of questions that take less time to solve will be immensely helpful in managing time during the actual exam.
  2. Time Management: Being a speed-based test, TS ICET requires time management. Since there is no negative marking, candidates should attempt as many questions as possible. However, they should not spend more than one minute per question. If they cannot find a way forward to solve the question, they should either leave it out or mark it and come back to it later.
  3. Order of Section Selection: Candidates can choose the order of sections and questions based on their comfort and confidence level. Attempting the easier questions first boosts confidence and then moves to tough ones.
  4. Revision: After completing the exam, test takers should revise all the questions and answers to ensure that they have not left out any question or have not done any silly mistake.

Last but not the least, avoid studying for long hours at a stretch. Break the study schedule into small slots so that your brain doesn’t get burdened with too much information all at once. The brain requires a constant supply of glucose to work, so be mindful of what you eat and stay hydrated. Moreover, they should also take care of their health in this pandemic situation.
