Why NEET 2021 could be postponed? The National Testing Agency will administer the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) on August 1, 2021. (NTA). Medical aspirants are demanding that the government postpone the NEET 2021 test owing to the surge of COVID-19 cases across the country, which has resulted in the cancellation and postponement of numerous boards and entrance exams.
Aspirants are also waiting for an update on the release date of the NEET 2021 application form, which was due to be issued on May 1 but was postponed. One of the probable causes for the postponing of the NEET 2021 test is a delay in the NEET registration procedure.

According to PTI sources, the NEET test may be postponed until September. Apart from the NTA's delay in releasing the NEET form date, applicants are concerned about the amount of COVID-19 instances across the country. And this might be a significant reason why NEET 2021 is being postponed till normalcy returns. The key reasons to postpone the NEET UG medical entrance test are discussed in this article.
According to PTI, NEET 2021 would most likely be pushed back to September. The NTA is yet to begin pre-exam activities such as registration, the rectification window, and the issuance of admit cards. And completing this procedure in a month appears to be a difficult challenge for NTA.
Possible Reasons for the Postponement of NEET-UG 2021
Here are some of the factors that might cause NEET 2021 to be postponed.
NEET 2021 Registration Procedure is Taking Longer Than Expected.
The notification further states that the NEET application form, as well as the comprehensive information bulletin, would be accessible on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in, immediately after the NEET exam date 2021 is announced. However, there has been no additional word on when the NEET application form would be made available?
Because of the delay in NEET 2021 registration, it's unclear how NTA will finish the application procedure in one month. NTA will be in charge of distributing the NEET bulletin, giving the proper window facility, and issuing NEET admit cards with the application forms.
The application form for the NEET test is usually issued 5-6 months before the exam date to provide applicants enough time to complete the rectification window, download the admit card or participate in any other pre-exam activities. Registration for the NEET test began on December 2, 2019, and the exam was held on September 13, 2020.

India's COVID-19 Situation
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and many state governments have suspended Class 12 board examinations because of the high number of COVID-19 cases in India. The third wave of Coronavirus is expected to hit the country in the following two months, around August, according to specialists.
Several state administrations have recommended administering the NEET exam after the test takers have been vaccinated. NEET 2021 may be postponed until September till then, according to rumours. However, the ministry of education is debating whether to hold the NEET UG 2021 exam, and a final decision would be made when the country's COVID situation is assessed.
Six ministers from opposition-ruled states petitioned the Supreme Court last year to have the NEET entrance exam postponed. The medical admission exam was repeatedly rescheduled. NEET was originally planned on May 3, but was postponed to July 26 and eventually held on September 13.
Students Demanding a Postponement of the NEET 2021 Exam
Meanwhile, medical students have taken to Twitter to petition the NTA and Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' to postpone the NEET entrance test until October. Several recent tweets are included here.
A user urged Education Minister Prakash Javadekar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reconsider their choice.
Another user requested the Delhi Chief Minister to assist medical aspirants in deferring NEET 2021 due to 48 incidences of Delta+ (plus).
“Modiji, please postpone the NEET UG exam until October,” a NEET aspirant asked.
Because many students have not been vaccinated, an aspirant asked that NEET 2021 be postponed.
“Sir, you have cancelled CBSE Class 12 examinations (July) since it is difficult to vaccinate all kids in a short period of time, therefore why can't you postpone NEET-UG until mid October?” a medical aspirant tweeted, questioning the officials.''
Requesting that Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank,' the education minister, grasp the circumstances and publish the NEET exam date as soon as possible.
NEET 2021 Exam: Seats at Stake
However, the ministry of education is currently debating whether or not to hold the NEET UG entrance test, and no decision has yet been made. NEET 2021 will be held for 83,072 MBBS seats, 26,949 BDS seats, 52,720 AYUSH seats, and 603 BVSc & AH seats. NEET UG 2021 results will be accepted for BSc Nursing and BSc Life Sciences admissions starting in 2021.
