Bachelor in Pharmacy, i.e., BPharmacy is a course that focuses on drugs, medicines, their uses, how to maintain them, etc. It is popular among those who want to work in the field of medical research or want to open their own medical shop. Human Anatomy, Pharmaceutics, Biochemistry, and Medicinal Chemistry are the major Pharmacy subjects that are covered in this undergraduate course. It is a four-year course for the students who have completed Class 12, whereas the students who have completed DPharma (Diploma in Pharmacy) can complete this course in only three years. Pharmacy subjects include both theoretical and lab studies that are covered in 8 semesters.

Important Facts for Pharmacy Subjects

  1. BPharm is an eight-semester course: It is for those who have completed their Class 12 studies from a recognised university or college. The students of both PCM and PCB groups with English as one of the subjects can apply to this course.

  2. BPharm is a six-semester course: The students who have completed DPharm can seek direct entry into the second year. Therefore, they can complete this course in only six semesters as they get a lateral entry to the BPharm course.

  3. Scope in India: India is one of the biggest markets in the world when it comes to Pharmaceuticals. Therefore, there are several opportunities in the field of medicine if you complete the BPharm course. Jobs like Pharmaceutical advisor, Hospital Pharmacy Director, Clinical Pharmacist, etc. are available to the pharmacy graduates. Moreover, you can also open your own medical store in any part of India if you hold a BPharm degree.
