SBI Clerk 2024-25: State Bank of India (SBI) activated the link to fill SBI Clerk application form 2024=25 on December 17, 2024, for a total of 14,194  vacancies. Out of the total vacancies, 456 are backlog vacancies for SBI Clerk exam. The last date to fill SBI Clerk 2024-25 application form is January 7, 2025. Any graduate candidate between 20 and 28 years can apply. Along with the notification, SBI Clerk 2024-25 exam dates were announced. The prelims exam will be conducted in February 2025 and the mains exam will be held in March/April 2025.

SBI Clerk 2024-25 notification was released in PDF form and comprises the important details related to the exam. The selection of candidates is done based on the prelims and mains exams. Candidates qualifying the mains exam are called for the Language Proficiency Test.

The notification is released on the official website in PDF form. The notification carries all the details related to the exam. Before applying for the exam, candidates must read the notification carefully to understand the exam well. The selection process of SBI Clerk comprises prelims and Mains exams. The prelims exam is qualifying in nature. The final selection is done through the Mains exam. Candidates qualifying the Mains exam are required to appear for the language proficiency test. In this test, candidates are judged based on their proficiency in the language of the state they have applied for.

SBI Clerk 2025 application form was released on December 17, 2024. Interested candidates could fill SBI Clerk application form till January 7, 2024. The application process comprises several steps such as registration, uploading of scanned photograph and signature, filling the detailed application form, uploading the handwritten declaration and left thumb impression and paying the application fees. The application fees can be paid online. The application fees for the exam is INR 750 for the General and OBC categories. SC/ ST/ PWD/ XS categories are exempted from fee payment.

A:

To be eligible for SBI Clerk exam, candidates should be between 20 and 28 years and have completed graduation in any discipline. Candidates who are in the final year of graduation can also apply for the exam provisionally. Relaxation in the upper age limit is given to candidates belonging to reserved categories. Candidates should check the SBI Clerk eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. The category-wise relaxation given to candidates is given below.

Q:   What is SBI Clerk Eligibility?

A:

SBI Clerk criteria:- A candidate who is aspiring to apply for the SBI Clerk exam must be an Indian citizen. Candidates must fulfill the following educational requirements to apply for the SBI Clerk Prelims examination. 1.Prospective candidates must have a Graduation degree in any stream from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification which is recognized by the Central Government. They must make sure the passing certificate shows the date the relevant degree was earned. 2.Candidates who have an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing of the IDD is as per the guidelines given in the notification. 3.Those who are in the final year/ semester of their graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if provisionally selected, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination  4.As per the SBI Clerk qualification criteria, the candidates need to mandatorily indicate the percentage theyve obtained in the Graduation degree and calculate it to the nearest two decimals in the online application form. 5.For Matriculate Ex-servicemen, prospective applicants should have obtained the Indian Army Special Certificate of Education or corresponding certificate in the Navy or Air Force, after completing at least 15 years of service in the Armed Forces of the Union. Age limit:- Not below 20 years and not above 28 years i.e. candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1994 and not later than 01.08.2002 (both days inclusive). The details regarding the age limit and the relaxation in upper age are clearly given in the official notification. Candidates must go through the notification in detail and check the eligibility criteria. Relaxation is given to the various categories for the SBI Clerk exam. Q:   Can Class 12 students apply for SBI Clerk exam?

A:

Candidates who are studying in their Class 12 are not eligible to apply for SBI Clerk exam. To apply for SBI Clerk exam candidates must be a graduate. Those who are in their final year of graduation can apply for the exam provisionally. 

Q:   How is SBI Clerk qualifying marks determined?

A:
The qualifying marks are estimated based on the following factors: Total number of candidates who appear in the SBI Clerk exam Total number of vacancies available Difficulty level of the exam Reservation system There are no sectional cut off marks in the exam. Candidates are only required to secure the overall cut off marks as per their categories in the exam. The cut off marks for the prelims exam are decided out of 100 marks whereas the cut off marks for the mains exam are decided based on the 200 marks. Candidates securing equal to or more than the cut off marks are selected for the next round of the recruitment process. SBI Clerk cut off marks are the minimum qualifying marks that candidates need to secure inorder to qualify the exam.

Q:   Can SBI Clerk become SBI PO?

A:

SBI Clerk get more opportunities to become a Probationary Officer compared to other banks. The main reason is the fast-track promotion process in SBI. Candidates who are selected for the Clerk position in SBI will be on probation for at least six months. However, it may be extended based on the performance of a candidate.
SBI conducts an internal exam every two years for those who are aspiring for career growth. A Clerk can take the internal exam only after the three years of service in the bank. Candidates who clears the internal exam become a Trainee Officer (TO) for a period of two years. After the completion of two years of the probation period, they are recruited as Middle Management Grade Scale-II (MMGS-II) Cadre. Candidates who completes six years of service or 12 years of service as a Clerk are also promoted to the next position, a Junior Manager Grade Scale (JMGS-I) Officer. However, the pay scale will be almost equal to that of the PO.

Q:   What is SBI Clerk age limit?

A:

The age of candidates for SBI Clerk must be between 20 and 28 years. SBI Clerk age limit is such that candidates must have born not earlier than August 2, 1994 and not later than August 1, 2002 (Both Days Inclusive). Candidates belonging to the reserved categories are given relaxation in the upper SBI Clerk age limit as per the government rules.

The bank has announced a total of 14,194 vacancies across the country. Out of the total vacancies, 456 vacancies are backlog vacancies and will be filled through the same recruitment exam. A total of 1894 vacancies are for Lucknow/ New Delhi, 1317 vacancies are available under Bhopal Circle, 1254 for Kolkata region, 1111 for Bihar region etc.

SBI Clerk 2024-25 Exam Pattern 

SBI Clerk exam pattern 2024-25 is such that it is divided into prelims and mains exams. The prelims exam comprises three sections and carries 100 marks. The mains exam comprises four sections and carries 200 marks.  There is a negative marking for wrong answers. ¼ marks assigned to a question are deducted as penalty. Language Proficiency Test is conducted for candidates who clear the mains exam. Any candidate who fails to clear the test will be disqualified from the recruitment. SBI Clerk 2024-2025 Salary

The initial pay of SBI Clerk is INR 19,900 (INR 17,900 plus two advance increments admissible to graduates). As per SBI Clerk salary, the pay scale is INR 17900-1000/3-20900-1230/3-24590-1490/4-30550-1730/7-42600-3270/1-45930-1990/1-47920. Following are the perks and allowances offered to candidates:
