Q:   How many parts are there in the CUET PG exam?

A:

There are two parts in the CUET PG exam:

  • Part A: This part is compulsory for all candidates and consists of 25 questions on General English and General Knowledge.
  • Part B: This part consists of 75 questions on the candidate's chosen subject (s). Candidates can choose up to three subjects from a list of 75+ subjects.

CUET PG exam is two hours long. The exam is conducted in Hindi and English. Candidates can choose to answer the exam in either Hindi language or English Language.

The CUET PG exam is a national-level entrance exam for admission to various postgraduate courses, including MA, MSc, MCom, MBA, MCA, and LLM. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of participating universities.

Candidates must note that the Language Comprehension/Verbal Ability section is compulsory. The General Test also has to be taken by candidates opting for all test papers except Education (PGQP01).

Q:   What are the changes introduced in the CUET PG Exam?

A:

Below are the list of changes that have been introduced in the CUET PG exam for the academic session 2024-2025:

  • There will not be any general paper for CUET PG exam. From this year the candidate can choose General paper as a Subject. The comprehension part of these papers would be English or Hindi as chosen by the candidate during registration.  
  • CUET PG Question paper choice reduced: Until last year, candidates were able to choose a maximum of 20 test paper codes in all but from this year on, candidates can choose maximum of four question paper codes. 
  • Duration of Exam would be of 105 Minutes.
  • The Question paper will have 75 Questions. 
  • CUET PG 2024 examination centres reduced to 300 from 313.

How to Prepare For CUET PG 2024: Time Table Strategy

Here are the steps on how to make a CUET PG exam timetable:
  • Gather all the relevant information. This includes the exam dates, the number of papers, the duration of each paper, and the syllabus for each paper.
  • List all the papers you need to take.
  • Estimate the amount of time you need to study for each paper.
  • Allocate time for each paper in your timetable.
  • Be realistic about how much you can study in a day.
  • Schedule your study sessions around your other commitments.
  • Stick to your timetable as much as possible.
  • To identify areas where you need to improve: By reviewing your mock test results, you can identify areas where you need to improve your knowledge or understanding. This can help you focus your studies on the most important topics, maximizing your chances of success on the actual exam.
  • To boost your confidence: Taking mock tests can help you build confidence in your ability to perform well on the actual exam. By seeing yourself succeed in a simulated testing environment, you can reduce anxiety and increase your chances of success on the actual day.

Q:   Would there be sectional time limit in CUET PG?

A:

National Testing Agency (NTA) has not announced any changes to the CUET PG exam pattern. Therefore, it is likely that there will be no sectional time limit in CUET PG 2025. This means that candidates will have two hours to complete the entire exam, regardless of the section they are working on.

However, it is important to note that the NTA has the right to change the exam pattern at any time. Therefore, candidates are advised to check the official NTA website regularly for the latest updates.

In the meantime, candidates can focus on preparing for the exam by following the syllabus and practicing with sample questions. It is also a good idea to develop a time management strategy for the exam. This will help candidates to ensure that they have enough time to complete each section of the exam.

Q:   What is the exam analysis for Section A of CUET PG examination?

A:

CUET PG 2023 Section 1 or the General section was found to be easy to moderate by maximum number of candidates in the examination centres. The questions were on Language Comprehension had questions from unseen passages.The questions were based on Reading Comprehension and the types of questions were direct from the passage, and others were vocabulary and synonym-antonym, idioms and phrases and basic grammatical based.

In Verbal Ability, some basic and simple questions were asked from Spotting errors, blood relationships, sentence equivalence and many more. Some other questions were asked from analytical skills and from GK section.

Q:   What changes have been made by NTA this year for selecting CUET-PG exam city preferences?

A:

NTA, has implemented many significant changes in the CUET PG 2024 admission process. 

  • CUET PG official website for the academic cycle 2024-2025 has been changed this year. Last year the official website of CUET PG exam was cuet.nta.nic.in. However, for this year, the official website is pgcuet.samarth.ac.in.
  • NTA has added two more CUET PG 2024 exam centres upon the requests received from candidates for their convenience i.e., Gurugram (Haryana) and Srinagar (Uttarakhand). Exam centres in India are now 302 which was 313 centres last year. However, the number of exam centres outside India/ overseas remained same. CUET PG 2024 exam centres outside India are 24.
  • CUET PG 2024 exam pattern for the academic session 2024-2025 has been amended. There will be only 75 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) about the particular course to which the candidate has applied.
  •  Exam authority has reduced the exam timing, which is now 105 minutes or 1 hour 45 minutes.
  • CUET PG 2024 application fees have increased from last year, when the fees for the general category was INR 1000, for the selection of up to three test papers. This year, the application fee has increased by INR 200, which is now INR 1200 for the general category for the selection of up to two subjects.

Q:   What is CUET PG Chemistry subject exam analysis?

A:

Section B analysis of chemistry paper, as per the students review the CUET PG 2023 Chemistry exam was found to be moderately difficult. Candidates could expect the lower cut-off as compared to last year's cut-off. Questions were asked from physical chemistry, organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry.

  • Cordination and its Compunds
  • Chemical Structure and its Hybridisation
  • GOC
  • Gibbs Energy Numericals
  • Isomerism and its types
