The IISER Entrance Exam is finally set to get underway, with the national-level entrance exam scheduled to be conducted on September 18, 2020, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Through IISER Entrance Exam, candidates can get admission to the BS-MS Dual Degree courses. The IISER Entrance Exam admit cards have been released online on September 7, 2020, and candidates who have not yet downloaded the hall ticket, are advised to do so straight away as without the admit card, candidates will not be allowed to appear for the IISER Entrance Exam.
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, students have raised their voices on postponing the IISER Entrance Exam as they feel it is unsafe to travel to the exam centre to appear for the entrance exam, especially, when there will be over 100 students at the exam centre. However, the officials have ensured that safety measures will be taken and facilities will be provided to keep the exam centre sanitized. The officials at the exam centre will provide students with hand sanitizers and masks, sanitize all items and equipment such as the computer keyboard, mouse, gates, chairs, tables, railings, etc.

IISER Entrance Exam 2020 Timings
The IISER Entrance Exam will be conducted on September 18, 2020, (Friday), from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Aspirants are advised to reach the exam centre one hour before the entrance exam is scheduled to commence so that security checking and the seating of students can be done in time and there is no confusion later on.

Letter to be carried to IISER Entrance Exam Centre
The IISERs have released a letter which students can carry to the exam centre if they face any problems while travelling to the IISER exam centre. The letter has been approved by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and if candidates are stopped at any point, they can show the letter. Along with the letter, the candidate should also have their IISER Entrance Exam admit card and their official government authorized ID. If the candidate does not have either of three documents, they will not be allowed to appear for the IISER Entrance Exam. Candidates will have to visit the official website of IISER admission to download the IISER Travel Letter.
IISER Entrance Exam Day Guidelines
There are various pointers one must keep in mind on the day of appearing for the IISER Entrance Exam. What one must do before leaving the house, on reaching the exam centre, on sitting for the entrance exam and once the IISER Entrance Exam concludes. The timings one should keep in mind, the stationary that you can carry, the items that will not be allowed to carry to the exam centre and much more information which is mentioned below.
Before the IISER Entrance Exam
- Ensure that you have your IISER admit card, official govt. IDs such as Aadhar Card/Driving License/Passport and the IISER Travel Letter.
- Reach the exam centre one hour before the scheduled time.
- Carry a passport size photograph.
- Carry a pen/pencil for your rough work. No other stationary options will be allowed.
- Carry your own hand sanitizers, which should be at least 50 ML in a transparent bottle.
- Carry your own face masks.
At Time of Entry
- Maintain social distancing. Stay six feet away from others at the exam centre.
- Candidates will be provided with hand sanitizers and three-ply masks before entering the centre.
- Obey all guidelines to ensure a smooth process.
- Candidates’ temperature will be checked through a Thermo gun and will be frisked with a non-touch scanner.
During IISER Entrance Exam
- Aspirants will be led to their respective seats in an orderly fashion. Remember to maintain distance from others at the centre.
- Show your admit card and authorized ID. Sign on the register book with your pen.
- The candidates will be provided with the login ID and password five minutes before the entrance exam will start.
- Ask for rough sheets if required. However, once finished with the sheet, the candidate has to dispose of the rough sheets.
- DO NOT attempt to cheat or make any suspicious movements which can lead to disqualification.
- The candidate can be frisked by the invigilator if deemed suspicious.
After IISER Entrance Exam
- The candidate cannot leave the exam centre early. All candidates will leave once the exam has been conducted.
- Leave the exam hall in an orderly fashion. Remember to maintain social distancing.
- Dispose of the rough sheets at the room itself.
- Sanitize your hands once you have exited the centre.
IISER Entrance Exam COVID-19 Safety Instructions
At all times, one must be cautious, aware and careful. Amid the time of the pandemic, prevention is better than cure and do not risk your health. If you have travelled anywhere in the past 14 days before the entrance exam, the candidate has to inform the officials of their whereabouts. The candidate’s temperature will be scanned at the time, will be provided with three-ply mask and hand sanitizers.
- Carry your own masks and hand sanitizers at the exam centre.
- Avoid touching anything such as gates, railings, doors, etc.
- DO NOT remove your asks at any point in time.
- DO NOT touch your eyes, ears or nose.
- Maintain six-feet away from people around you, even your own friends at the centre.
- Simply adhere to the rules and obey all instructions.
