Comprehensive guide to inside of Panjab University.
Placements: Most students opt for Masters, but those who opt for placements get fully placed. Placements for Masters students are 100 percent. The average package is 8 LPA and may range between 7-15 LPA. Top recruiters include ALLEN, AAKASH, FITJEE, and Unacademy. Roles offered are Teachers for NEET/JEE/NET/GATE in top coaching institutes.
Infrastructure: Classrooms have digital smart boards for illustrative learning. Labs are well-equipped. Wi-Fi facilities are available in departments as well as hostels. The department and central library are well-maintained and highly accessible. Books and journals can be easily accessed. Hostels are good, with B.Ed tables, chairs, and fans available. Mattresses and lights are to be carried by students. Food is good, with the mess and canteen providing a variety of foods. A dispensary/health center is available on campus. My hostel has a parlour, snack shop, mini gym, AC common room, and guest room. There is also a large ground for archery, hockey, football, lawn tennis, shooting range, and a gym.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified: all are Ph.D. holders and very knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good. Teachers are very approachable, and doubt-solving is effective. They help with books and other reference materials. Semester exams range from intermediate to difficult. The pass percentage is 90-95%. Golden Chance exams are conducted to give students one more opportunity to clear backlogs.
Other: I am quite interested in Chemistry; that's why I chose it. Practicals should be given more weightage, as they are interesting, illustrative, and provide hands-on experience to learn concepts. Campus surroundings are very good: a lush green campus where everything is quite accessible.

Great faculty, good exposure, and good infrastructure. If you get in, enjoy your life to the fullest
Placements: Panjab University does not offer placements for students in undergrad programs but provides a few placements in Masters and Ph.D. programs in various colleges and companies. You can give exams to get placements in several institutes, and study material is all available in libraries that are open 24 hours a day (the main library).
Infrastructure: Departments have been built for a very long time, so it's an old building, but they are managed well. Some hostels are not so good, and the food is not good, but some are very well maintained. The canteen food is good, and the student center (STU-C) is known for its quality of food.
Faculty: The faculty is very helpful and qualified, and they are understanding and mostly available in the department. Exams are moderate, and everything is taught in class. The passing percentage is 40%. Everything is explained well in classes, and if you study well, it's not difficult to score good marks.
Other: PU is a well-known university and a great place for exposure, and these will be the moments to remember for a lifetime.

Panjab University- popular but in need of funding.
Placements: My course did not have a placement policy involved in it, though it opened up gates for doing Masters' in Chemistry I. e. further studies. This course also provided opportunity to go into the chemical industries sector, but None of my classmates went ahead for that.
Infrastructure: The department infrastructure was average at best as the building is very old. The labs though were fully equipped and functional. Classrooms had proper sitting furniture and fans. The department library was small but taken care of properly. As far as hostels are concerned, the hostel buildings are as old as the university itself and therefore a little beat up. The rooms are very small- just enough for 2 beds. The hostel canteen provided good food.
Faculty: The faculty was very knowledgeable and helpful. The course curriculum was good and made a proper base for further studies in Chemistry. Though it does not make students industry ready and it has a rather theoretical approach instead of being pragmatic. The semester exams were fine- not too difficult or easy. 40% was the pass percentage.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in Chemistry. As the pandemic hit just after the start of my 3rd semester, it completely threw me off my studies. I wish I had utilized that time for online classes more. PU fests are very popular and are organized with great enthusiasm. I loved the events which brought together students from all the departments. The campus is very spacious and breathy.

Has good instruments and average placements.
Placements: Our department is good in terms of research and all but placements especially after B.Sc. is very low and placement is only available in coaching industries like Aakash, Allen and Byjus. But engineering department of the campus has good placement cell and many companies such as Infosys, Microsoft and A.M.E. recruit from there.
Infrastructure: Hostels of Panjab University is very good and accommodation is available for two people in a room which is a bit congested for two students. Almirah is also one and we have to share it with our roommate. Bathrooms in our hostel is common and not attached to the rooms. Course is fine and is oriented to a particular subject in which we are doing our honors.
Faculty: Faculty is well educated and all the professors are Ph.D. in their subjects and they have done their Ph.D. either from abroad or from well reputed institutes such ts, iiscs, isers and csir labs. Exams of our course are conducted on time and the semester is divided into two parts MST (mid semester exam) and EST (end semester exam).
Other: Campus life at panjab university is just awesome. Everybody should visit there at least once in their life.

It is a good campus with a good campus life and hostels. Overall it's a good college.
Placements: Since I'm a bachelor's student, so there are almost zero placements for a bachelor's degree in B.Sc. hons. Chemistry. For placements, you must pursue a masters degree here, then there are some chances of placements. But those are very rare. Some students get placed in pharmaceutical companies but not much. For job placements, you have to apply for job interviews or further tests and qualify those to get jobs. Some students also get internships but it depends upon your performance.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very good here. There are proper laboratories and equipment available. There are very costly and sensitive apparatus for various experiments and researches are also available here. Moreover, the practical class here lasts for 4 hours. You have to perform experiments properly without any hurry, as you have four hours long laboratory classes for each subject. The department also has its library, free Wi-Fi, canteen, etc. The hostels are also good. The room quality is not that great, but hostel life is amazing, and you will love it. The mess food is also good.
Faculty: Faculty members are good. But some professors are irritating. The course curriculum is good. But I don't like the way of teaching. The main problem is that there are multiple professors appointed for every single subject who teach you different units of a subject. The first day, one of the professors taught his unit, and on the next day, another professor also came for the same subject and he starts teaching his unit. This creates a mess. I hate this way. One professor should complete his part, and then the other professor should teach his unit. But here these create a mess. Exams are conducted in a good manner.

Q:   Is M.A. at Panjab University worth the investment?

    A:
    {Source: M.A. students & alumni}

After analyzing the feedback from current students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

    Pros:

    * Good faculty: Many students praised the professors' qualifications, knowledge, and approachability.
    * Well-structured course curriculum: The curriculum is relevant, and students appreciate the theoretical foundations.
    * Infrastructure and amenities: The campus is well-maintained, with decent facilities, including a library, gym, and recreational spaces.
    * Exposure to various activities: The university offers various extracurricular activities, festivals, and events, allowing students to explore their interests.

    Cons:

    * Placement record: The placement rate is relatively low, and many students rely on self-effort or pursuing higher education (e.g., NET or Ph.D.) for career advancement.
    * Limited industry connections: The university's ties with industries seem limited, resulting in fewer job opportunities for students.
    * Research-oriented internships: While some internships are available, they tend to be research-focused rather than corporate-driven, limiting practical experience.
    * Academic intensity: Some students felt that the course load was too heavy, with little scope for hands-on learning or industry application.

In conclusion, whether M.A. at Panjab University is worth the investment depends on individual goals and expectations. For those seeking a strong academic foundation and theoretical knowledge, the university seems suitable. However, for those looking for direct industry exposure, job guarantees, or extensive career opportunities, they may need to supplement their degree with additional efforts or consider alternative options.

Recommendation: If you're considering the M.A. programme at Panjab University, weigh the pros and cons carefully, focusing on your academic and career aspirations. Consider networking with faculty and peers, exploring extracurricular activities, and developing transferable skills to enhance your prospects.

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

    A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.
