On Fees and Eligibility

Q:   How much does BA cost in Delhi University?

A:

The total tuition fee for BA and BA (Hons) courses offered by the University of Delhi ranges between INR 540 and INR 1.5 lakh depending on the college a student is seeking or taking admission to. In addition to the affiliated college, BA course fee is also dependent on the specialisation selected by the student for the same. This information is sourced from official website/ sanctioning body and is subject to change. Hence, is indicative.

In reality, the total fee that a student is required to pay is much higher than 540 Indian Rupees. This is because there are other fee components which are charged by DU colleges which include application fee, development charges, exam fee and other components.

The below table mentions the BA Hons/ BA fee for the top 5 popular DU colleges:

Q:   Can I get admission in DU with 45%?

I'm disappointed with the class routine. Go for better options.
Placements: Placement opportunities are good, basically depending on the course. There are ample opportunities for internships and extracurricular activities, with many ads shared through WhatsApp groups, and interested students can join from there. I don't have much idea about placements, but I have heard that the placement is good in this college.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good, but not very good. Campus is clean, but its design is so confusing, that it takes a while to find class. Sports infrastructure is also very bad, and sports facilities are also not good. They don't have a badminton court or indoor court for indoor games. There's just one cricket ground and tennis court, which is of no use since they don't take many students into teams. They don't inform students about upcoming competitions and tournaments as they don't want to take new students.
Faculty: Faculty members are good. I would say some are good, and some are not. Apart from good, they all are strict. We shall not miss our school, because the environment in this college is just like school. Some teachers are very rude, and will treat you like a school student by giving homework, and would not give you attendance if we are late to the class.
Other: Crowd is mostly filled with girls with high attitude. Even though, it’s a girls’ college, it is very difficult to make genuine friends.

Review of Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, University of Delhi.
Placements: Our college offers on-campus placement opportunities to companies like KPMG, EY, PWC, Bechtel, Cognizant, Genpact, and DE Shaw a comes the hiring on-campus average salary package of our college is around 5 LPA although it is not a very big number and ROI is great.
Infrastructure: The only thing I can complain about in DCAC is infra it has very old and very small campus buildings but there is every basic necessity like good classrooms, library, Auditorium, Seminar hall, well-equipped computer labs, decent canteen, and even DCAC has one media room for journalism students. And one more thing to add the college doesn't provide a hostel facility.
Faculty: B.Com (Hons) is one of the flagship courses that DU offers. The course curriculum is very superior but after NEP implementation the exam became very tough. So we have to go through a very hectic schedule of study along with managing extra circular activities.
Other: I have chosen DU over other colleges because Delhi University has a brand value in itself. The alumni network is very good, faculty is very good and return on investment is superb. Apart from this, crowds and extracurriculars are the main things to highlight.

College is good in everything except the infrastructure.
Placements: 85 percent of the students are placed in my course. The lowest package, according to my course, is 20000 and the highest is 50,000. Not many but some private companies recruit from here. In my course, the majority of students are preparing for government jobs, so they have no choice but to go to other companies .
Infrastructure: Infrastructure and facilities are not good. The foods are available in the canteen, which is also good. The seating arrangements are also very good but they are very dirty some times, so we need to make clean place where we are come to eat and have lunch, etc.
Faculty: Teaching is excellent and most classes are running regularly. There is not much doubt in the teachers teachings. The professors are giving us study material so we are studying with our free minds.
Other: I chose this course because it will be easy to prepare for my future studies and prepare for my goal without any problems. Preparation are running well by this course and by the study material .

Review of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya National Institute for Persons with Physical Disabilities.
Placements: Hello. I have taken admission in this college this year. I am a BPT first-year student. There are a total of 120 students in my class. In my college, OT placements are really good in comparison to PT. This information is mainly given by seniors. I will inform you of the rest when I start my internship. The internship duration is 6 months. But ward duty starts from the 3rd year onwards. This college is one of the top colleges in India. The campus is really small, but the metro and bus stop are nearby, so it's convenient. There are no fests organised, but some events do happen. Overall, the academics are really good. The teachers are great. The library is vast. Students will find every book they need there. We can issue the real human ones to study, but only in the lab.
Infrastructure: Our class has a projector, and a speaker is in the class. So, we study from PPTs. Anatomy is sometimes taught practically when the bone study is ongoing. Every bench is provided with one bone. Students can even issue bones through the anatomy lab and sit and study there.
Faculty: Teachers are really helpful. They will guide students very well. The course curriculum is really relevant. I haven't giaven the exams yet, but I have heard they are a bit tough. You need to maintain 75% attendance to attend the exam because it is compulsory.
Other: This is the best college in India, and it is under the central government. Students will get a stipend during the internship. Only 4 events happen in our college. No fests are organised, but small events do take place, like Physiotherapy Day, etc.

Reality of Delhi University.
Placements: There weren't many students who got placed in my course at an extremely good package and the highest package of my college was 14L per annum while the lowest one offered to a student was 4.7 Lacs per annum. Top recruitment company was Deloitte.
Infrastructure: As we all know since years Delhi university is known to be having most outdated infrastructure and yes that's my point that infrastructure of my college is really poor there are no air conditioners due to which plenty students are suffering from heat in summers.
Faculty: The faculty is also another reason why I dislike my college as the teachers are really egoistic and shot tempered for no reason. There is a lot of misuse of their power and a lot of trouble is caused because of them, resulting in no one to complain to.

Yes I am dissatisfied with the college.
Placements: I have generally not heard about placements from my department students who try for IIT JAM and other field jobs. some go for UPSC government exams students come here to do coaching and other curricular activities which develop their personality physically as well as mentally.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is okok not too good mostly washrooms GATE doesnot have latch. Library is fine and canteen requires cleanliness also the classroom are cheated as in summer there in no proper ventilation and fans working, also no edu comp classes held.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful if you are regular usually students study just for the sake of exams, not seriously and most of the teachers focus on the quick covering of the syllabus In the end students have to study on their own. Stone hardly managed to pass due to their carelessness.
Other: There are a lot of groups in our batch. No fest no alumni, not good crowd students are much involved in politics.

DU FAQs

Q:   How is the overall infrastructure of Bhagini Nivedita College?

A:
{Source: B.Com students & alumni]

Bhagini Nivedita College provides a moderately busy campus life with a variety of extracurricular activities and sports facilities. The dress code is flexible, and students can wear what they prefer. The college has a hygienic mess and cooking arrangement, and the quality of food is acceptable. The attendance policy is strict, and rule breakers may receive a warning. The college culture is diverse and inclusive, with no language challenges, and supporting staff who are not limited to native speakers. Academically, the college follows a moderate schedule with regular exams and easy-to-score exam preparation materials. Teaching methods include practical discussions and case studies, and there are well-stocked libraries for research and reading resources. The campus is secure with guards and CCTV cameras present everywhere, and outsiders can enter the campus without permission. The college takes ragging seriously and may rusticate students found guilty of it.

Based on the reviews provided, the overall infrastructure of Bhagini Nivedita College appears to be mixed. Some students have reported that the classrooms are of poor quality, the library lacks adequate resources and there is no hostel facility available. However, other students have mentioned that the infrastructure in their department is excellent, with high-quality facilities and food availability in the canteen. Additionally, some students have noted that the location of the college on the outskirts of Delhi provides a peaceful environment, but may also pose restrictions.

Summary: The infrastructure of Bhagini Nivedita College is inconsistent, with both positive and negative reviews regarding the quality of classrooms, libraries and facilities. While some departments have excellent infrastructure, others may lack adequate resources. The location of the college may provide a peaceful environment, but may also present challenges due to its distance from the city center.
