Q:   Can I get into VIPS with a rank of 3044 (inside Delhi) for BBA?

A:

It is difficult to say for sure whether you will be able to get into VIPS with a rank of 3044 (inside Delhi) for BBA. The cutoff for VIPS BBA varies every year, depending on the number of applicants, the difficulty level of the entrance exam, and other factors. In 2021, the closing rank for BBA at VIPS for the general category (inside Delhi) was 391. So, if the cutoff remains similar this year, you may have a chance of getting admission. However, it is also possible that the cutoff will be higher, in which case you may not be able to get in.

Here are some factors that could affect the cutoff for VIPS BBA in 2023:

The number of applicants: If there are more applicants this year than last year, the cutoff is likely to be higher.

The difficulty level of the entrance exam: If the entrance exam is more difficult this year than last year, the cutoff is likely to be lower.

The performance of other colleges: If other colleges in Delhi have higher cutoffs for BBA, VIPS may also have a higher cutoff to attract students.

The best way to know for sure whether you will be able to get into VIPS with a rank of 3044 (inside Delhi) for BBA is to wait for the cutoff to be released. You can check the cutoff on the website of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) once it is released.

B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2028

The best college: Delhi Technological University.
Placements: Like, if we see mechanical engineering, almost 70% of students were placed, and the average package in mechanical engineering was around 11 LPA, with the highest around 26 LPA. But in tech branches, the average package offered was almost 20 LPA, with the highest at 86 LPA. Top recruiting companies in my course were Maruti Suzuki, Hero, and Maharatna companies such as ONGC, BHEL, SAIL, and many more government bodies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my college is very good. It is spread across 170 acres of land. It contains a sports complex, gym, and an indoor badminton court. There are different buildings for different courses and branches. There is also an open theatre where small fests and gatherings occur, and for the FEAT event, there is a fest ground. Overall, the campus is huge, and you can’t travel in a single day. There are 8 boys' hostels and 3 girls' hostels.
Faculty: Teachers in DTU are very supportive and helpful. One advice I have for my juniors in the upcoming year is to not ease off or bunk classes. If your batch is good with the teachers, then in the end, you will only be fruitful. The course I have pursued is very relevant. There are all big machines for my subject, and all industry exposure is provided to the students. The semester exams are very tough, but you need just one week before your end semester, and you will be good to go.
Other: I have chosen this course because I have a core interest in the mechanical roles, and my family has the same background. The thing that could be better is that they should stop allowing vehicles on campus. It is being executed, but they don’t care much about it. Many events and fests are organized, and there is great connectivity. Very good senior-junior interaction is there.

Great college, great legacy, and great placements.
Placements: Around 72 percent of students were placed in DTU ECE, with the highest package being 51 LPA. The average package is around 18 LPA and so is the median. Top companies that come to the college are Samsung, Bajaj, Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, etc. The internship percentage was around 40 in companies like Microsoft, Adobe, JP Morgan, etc. Top roles offered are telecommunication engineer, VLSI design engineer, AI and machine learning engineer, etc.
Infrastructure: All the facilities are great, and some of the facilities also rank among the top 2% of the world's engineers. The infrastructure is also good with all the machinery and everything. Hostels for first-year students are not very great, but those for second and third years are good. Mess food is fine and the medical facilities are also in good condition. The sports complex is fine with all the sports equipment.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified. Most of them are from IIT, NIT, or some other very reputed colleges. The teaching quality is also good, with regular exams and assignments being properly taken. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant and does make the individual job-ready. The semester exam difficulty level is medium, but the class average stays high. The pass percentage is around 80.
Other: EC offers a variety of opportunities, and I chose it because of its flexibility. I can opt for both core as well as tech placements, which are the best things about this course. Campus life is great, with the best fests in North India (I'd say). The campus crowd is great, as all have cleared the JEE. Only the campus surroundings are not so great. There are many scholarships which one can opt for, and for extracurricular activities, one can join societies and clubs. There is also good connectivity.

The okayish college for design
Placements: For our batch, the placements are not good at all. It is very different from what is being advertised on public platforms and should not be taken for reference. But the situation might get better as my juniors are getting much better opportunities on campus than we got for our batch.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure, even after constant construction throughout my duration in college, is not good. On the surface, it might look good, but they lack the bare minimum stuff for it to be considered a good design college in the first place. They spend a lot of money on departments that were never required.
Faculty: Exams here are just formality; the main weightage is given to your big project of the semester for each of the subjects. That will be considered as the priority for the subject. But with a few exceptions, both the faculty and the curriculum are not that good.
Other: The campus life and your peers are where you'll get most of your learnings from. Just do not rely on the teachers in hopes that they will teach something good.

B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2028
4.4
4Placements4Infrastructure4Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
Amazing campus and infrastructure with proper facilities.
Placements: In civil engineering, around 40% of students sit for college placements. In 2023, the highest package offered was 18 LPA, but it varies annually. On-campus recruiting companies, especially for civil, are L&T, Tata Projects, Godrej, JCB, etc. In addition to these, companies like Amazon, Adobe, and Microsoft also allow all students for placements. I'm not sure about the internships for this branch, but generally, internships on campus are good, with the highest stipend going up to 2 Lakh, and the average stipend being around 70k.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is amazing. We have neat and clean classrooms with whiteboards, projectors, and fully air-conditioned labs with proper availability of machinery. The campus has a huge library with 3 floors and more than 3 Lakh books and e-books related to engineering, designing, and MBA. Hostel quality is above average, with each hostel having its own mess with above-average food quality. Each hostel also has a common room and sports room. The campus has medical facilities as well.
Faculty: Yes, teachers are well-qualified, but some are helpful. The teaching quality is nice, and the course is relevant with practical knowledge, making students ready for the industry. The difficulty level of semester exams is average. The passing criteria is to score 35% in a subject to pass. There is now a new passing criteria for even semester exams that students must pass both theory and practical separately.

It is an average college for admission.
Placements: Even if the recession had an impact on overall placements this year, several organisations still came to the campus. The typical compensation package offered in CSE is 19 LPA. The highest salary package offered is 80 LPA. Most students consider off-campus placements to be the criterion for internships. Placements on campus are extremely difficult.
Infrastructure: Good ventilation, water, and air conditioning amenities are all part of the infrastructure. Library has plenty of material. Wi-Fi is available in the hallway. Ample room and play equipment are also features of sports area. Cricket and football have their own fields.
Faculty: The highly skilled instructors use thorough and precise teaching strategies that let pupils easily picture every subject. The course material is highly relevant to prepare students for outside world and industry after graduation. It aligns with the new education strategy. By attending classes and going over the notes taken in class, students can easily pass semester tests, which are not very challenging. The branch of mathematics and computing has a pass rate of over 80%. Failure in this course is quite uncommon.

Partially satisfied but doesn't have that level of facilities that IIT has.
Placements: In my batch, there are 75 students. I don't know much about packages as I haven't been informed about placements this year. I will be seeking placement, so I don't have accurate answers at the moment. Currently, no one knows if the internship opportunities are good. The cutoff is requested to be above 9, which may cause many students to continue without an internship.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, with proper ventilation, water, and AC facilities. Wi-Fi is provided in the hall area, and the library is well-stocked with a lot of content. The sports area is also good, with ample space and equipment to play. There are proper grounds for football and cricket.
Faculty: Teachers were good, having proper knowledge of their subjects. Yes, studying IT in the era of AI is beneficial, as it provides a solid knowledge base for the future. Semester exams were quite difficult, but since all students sit together, they had the opportunity to cheat, so the overall pass percentage is good.
Other: Too many students in batch .

Q:   Can I get DTU with 80 percentile in JEE Main via JAC Delhi?

A:
Usually, the cutoff for DTU stays around 90, even for the reserved categories. Therefore, getting into B.Tech courses at DTU is difficult with a JEE Main percentile score of 90 or below. The cutoff also goes high and low every year, depending on the following factors: Number of aspirants registered, The difficulty level of the exam, Total number of seats available, total number of applications received for a particular program, and the category under which admission is sought. Therefore, it is very difficult to predict the exact cutoff and give an exact answer to this question.
