HITS 2026 Applications Open

Hindustan University admissions 2026 are open for UG and PG courses. Other latest updates are as follows:

The CLAT PG 2026 third merit list is out for admission to the PG-level LLM programme. The fourth merit list will be out on May 2, 2026 (10 PM).
The TNEA 2026 counselling application window is expected to launch in the first week of May 2026 for admission to BE/BTech courses.
The CUET UG 2026 registration portal is now closed for admission to several UG courses. The CUET exam 2026 will be conducted from May 11 to May 31, 2026.
The CAT 2026 registration is expected to start in the Aug, 2026 for admission to the MBA course.
The CUET PG 2025 result has been released for admission to PG courses. Candidates who appeared in the exam can view and download their scorecards by using their login details on the official website.
For BTech, BArch, and BDes courses, the HITSEEE 2026 applications are open until Apr 22, 2026, and the exam will be conducted from Apr 27 to May 2, 2026.
The TANCET 2026 application form is live until Apr 10, 2026, for admission to the MBA course. Also, the TANCET exam 2026 is scheduled for May 9, 2026.
The CLAT UG 2026 fourth merit list will be published on May 2, 2026, for admission to the five-year Integrated LLB (UG) courses.

HITS Highlights 2026

The Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, also known as HITS or HITAS, is a private deemed-to-be-University and was founded in 1985 by K.C.G. Verghese. Located in Chennai the university is a member of the Hindustan Group of Institutions and has several sister institutes across Chennai and beyond such as the Hindustan Institute of Engineering Technology and other colleges. The university has since been recognised by the UGC as well as the MHRD and approved by the CoA, AICTE and NBA for several of its courses.

HITS Chennai also holds an 'A' grade NAAC accreditation and is a member of the AIU. The course range of this university is vast with more than 100 courses offered at the UG, PG, and PhD levels. These include BBA, BTech, BCA, BSc, BCom, MTech, etc. Candidates can also pursue distance learning courses at the Centre for Online and Distance Learning (CODL).

HITS Admission Process and Important Dates 2026

HITS admissions 2026 are open for UG and PG courses

HITS admission to all the courses is mainly based on the university’s in-house entrance exam, i.e., HITSEEE & HITSCAT. Hindustan University conducts HITSEEE to provide admission to BTech courses. HITSCAT is the new entrance test conducted by the institute for admission to BDes, Law, Management, and some other courses.

Additionally, some nation-level entrance exams are also accepted for admissions such as UGC NET, CLAT, and GATE. To get admitted to the Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science, candidates must complete the course eligibility as set by the university.

MBA in Business Analytics.

Placements: The specific branch in the course of MBA was likely to have more opportunities, which may be up to 68 percent. The coaching for placements would be common for all branches, which was quite stressful due to the terrific competition. I got selected in the company EY for the role of junior consultant for the package of 4.52 CTC, which was made possible by me in my 5th company drive, through the successive placement coaching.

Infrastructure: A lot of controversies happened in the college, especially during the inter college cultural which severely disrupted the pace of the whole college. Providing permission for conducting such events often in the college causes the students to lower their concentration on academics and placement wise. Apart from all the beautiful campus it looks like the best facilities.

Faculty: Teachers were well aware of the tactics and strategies of the business oriented studies, which help to get a better view of the course of MBA in business analytics. Teachers were mindful about their usage of words, segments like projects were sounding interesting, mostly like a collection database about the usefulness of our developed project and its working which was helpful to analyze the course as the best.

Placements: Our college placement cell gives active job opportunities. Mostly based on the IT sector since I also studied computer science engineering. The average package offered during my batch for 3 LPA. Some of the top recruiting companies that came during my academic year are Tata, Cognizant, Accenture, Infosys, Boeing, and other startup companies. Internship offers are also provided.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is decent and green. The drainage systems are well maintained, and in rainy seasons there won't be much clogged water. There are different architectural buildings for different departments. Library is well-maintained and air-conditioned. There are football field, basketball court, badminton court, etc. There are 2 canteens and a mini super-market is also there.

Faculty: Faculty members during our academic year are good. Learned many things from highly ranked staffs. Few are very supportive of our projects and have guided us. Curriculum in our college is quite structured. It will be more updated in upcoming years. There are practical labs, projects, and theory subjects. Exams are conducted regularly consisting of both internals and final semesters. One good thing is that there won't be any extra exam fees collected before the exams.

Satisfied by the college and infrastructure.

Placements: The college is good when it comes to infrastructure and comfort. The placements are more reasonable compared to many other colleges. I'm studying computer science at this college and the companies like Cognizant, TCS, Capgemini, and Bosch are taking in for placements with an average package of 5 LPA-6 LPA. Almost every student gets an internship including a stipend which is a good thing.

Infrastructure: Labs and classrooms are clean and hygienic and have all the equipment required for the particular course. When it comes to me, I study computer Science (AI&this), labs are very good, with good signal strength, and proper systems for coding. Being a day scholar I'm unaware of the hostel but my friends living in hostel tells that the rooms are great, good needs to be improved.

Faculty: Teaching quality is good. Almost every faculty is helpful, highly qualified, and knowledgeable which makes students study and understand. Semester exams are very easy if we study if not it would be tough to pass the exams. The pass percentage is more than 80% to my knowledge.

Other: I am studying computer science and my specialization is artificial intelligence and data science. I've chosen this course because of the demand and its major role in the future. Hindustan College is more famous for aeronautics. Fests like YARONA are worth participating in.

HITS Scholarships 2026

HITS extends a range of scholarships to students belonging to the SC/ ST/ EWS category. Meritorious students are also given the privilege of scholarships. Some of the Hindustan University scholarships are as follows:

SC/ ST Scholarship Government of India: Candidates, who belong to Tamil Nadu and have completed Class 12, are eligible for this scholarship. The annual income of the parents should not exceed INR 1 LPA. The candidates should not be in receipt of another scholarship/assistance from other sources. The scholarship can be renewed every year.
Merit cum Means Scholarship: The top scorers in Class 12 are awarded financial aid to pursue their higher studies in HITS. This scholarship is aimed at meritorious students from weaker sections.
Sports Scholarship: It gives special importance to the students who have excelled in sports over the years under its Sports Quota.
Dr Elizabeth Verghese Founder Scholarship: This scholarship has been instituted to empower girls with academic potential to pursue higher education and those who are from lower-income families.
