Indian Institute of Science: the best place in India.
Placements: Mostly, M.Tech students will opt for PhD. There is a newly established placement cell here. Previously the placements were directly recommended by the professors. In civil engineering, M.Tech students will get an average package of Rs. 6 to 9 lakhs per annum, and yes, it is not very great. But, the job profile will be of the research and development.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is well-established with a 450-acre campus. There are old stone masonry buildings with huge trees. It feels like living in a jungle at the heart of the city. Hostels are luxurious, but a few are old. The campus is well maintained and will be clean with a hygienic mess. Also, gymkhana is great here with sports like badminton court, a pool table and a swimming pool available.
Faculty: The faculty here is highly qualified, well educated, and experienced. It feels like we are discussing with friends when we approach them. Very few, only of 5% of the faculty members are rude, but the others are very down to earth. Their teaching quality is the best. I think there is nothing better than these faculty members in India. They are very helpful professors.
