Q:   Is Jamia Millia Islamia good for M.Com?

A:
{Source: M.Com students & alumni}

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) - Is it Good for M.Com?

Based on reviews from current students and alumni, here's what they say:

* Placement Record: While the college claims to have a good placement record, the reality seems to be different. According to students, only about 20% of students get placed, with the highest package offered being INR5.5 LPA.
* Recruiters: Companies like Samsung, Kotak Mahindra, DMI Housing Finance, and Acxiom visit the campus for placements, but the number of recruiters is relatively small.
* Course Curriculum: The M.Com course is well-structured and covers finance, accounting, and purchasing, making students industry-ready.
* Teaching Quality: Some students feel that the teaching quality could improve, while others appreciate the support and guidance received from faculty members.
* Infrastructure: The college has a beautiful campus with modern infrastructure, including a large library, laboratories, and a sports complex.
* Scholarships: JMI offers scholarships to deserving students, including the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

In conclusion, while Jamia Millia Islamia has its strengths, particularly in terms of infrastructure and course structure, the placement record for M.Com appears to be inconsistent. Prospective students should weigh these factors carefully before deciding whether JMI is the right fit for them.

Q:   Is BBA at Jamia Millia Islamia a good choice?

A:
{Source: BBA students & alumni}

Based on the information provided, I would say that studying BBA at Jamia Millia Islamia can be a good choice. Here's why:

* Good reputation: Jamia Millia Islamia is a reputed institution, ranked within the top 15 universities according to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranking.
* Well-qualified faculty: The faculty members are well-qualified, experienced, and knowledgeable, providing good teaching quality.
* Relevant curriculum: The course curriculum is relevant, covering all aspects of business administration, making students industry-ready.
* Placements: Despite initial concerns about placements, the majority of students (around 90%) get placed in well-known companies, including top recruiters like TCS, Wipro, KPMG, ICICI, and Mahindra. The average salary package offered is around 4-5 LPA, with some students receiving even higher packages.
* Infrastructure: The campus infrastructure is good, with modern facilities like air-conditioned lecture theaters, state-of-the-art libraries, and well-maintained hostels.
* Campus life: The campus offers a range of extracurricular activities, sports facilities, and cultural events, creating a vibrant campus life.

However, there are some areas for improvement, such as the limited research opportunities and the need for students to take initiative to find jobs.

Overall, while Jamia Millia Islamia may not offer the perfect education, it seems to be a good option for those interested in pursuing a career in business administration.

Review of Jamia Millia Islamia [JMI].
Placements: The majority of our seniors got placement offers, and some of them joined organisations like Pawan Hans Ltd., ISRO, and DRDO. One girl got placed at American Airlines. The salary packages range from 2.4 LPA to 12 LPA. Top recruiters are American Airlines, ISRO, and DRDO. Aircraft maintenance engineer, flight analyst, flight inspector, and research assistant in government institutions are among the most offered positions.
Infrastructure: The amenities provided include fast Wi-Fi, a full-fledged library, and a hall of residence. Apart from that, students get access to sports facilities inside the MAK Sports Complex. If emergencies happen, students can also avail medical facilities and illness support provided by the Ansari Health Center for free of cost.
Faculty: Lecturers are very polite and eager to share their experiences with the subjects in which they have been involved in the past. They always explore and convince students to take engineering as a research and practice-based approach. This helps in driving a thoughtful understanding of the subjects or topics concerned. The curriculum provided by the UGC also helps students associate themselves with the majors and minors. By the end of the course, almost all students are industry-ready. The semester exams are not that difficult. If a student is willingly and diligently putting an effort into the course and subjects taught, then it could be very easy. Assessments are made to recognise the effort put in by students.
Other: I chose this course because I was very interested in aeronautics, and more specifically, the field of aviation. The dynamics of flight and propulsion systems fascinate me. I hope that the government will support research opportunities by providing the necessary assets for further enhanced and practical-based research.

Our college offers a good education and faculty.
Placements: The top companies that came to recruitment in our college placements are United Airlines, PHL, Air India and others. The top roles offered by this course are a data analyst, ATC controller, mechanical aircraft engineer for rotary wings and avionics aircraft engineer for fixed wings, Quality Check, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college has a unique essence, monument-type structures with all the latest facilities and services, completely green with the chirping of birds. It is well said that "Clean Jamia, Green Jamia" totally justifies its statement. Hostel food is really very tasty.
Faculty: We have an A+ faculty with a humble and supportive nature. COVID may affect the curriculum, but it's great. Exams are horrible as usual. Every course has a proper lab and a separate warehouse. We also do training on live aircraft at PHL Heliport.
Other: The culture in our college is really good. The campus crowds are very special.

Very beautiful campus and very friendly nature in the campus.
Placements: 30-40% of students are placed in our course. There is no such highest package. Indigo, Pawan Hans, and other airlines are recruiting companies. Our course offers aircraft maintenance engineer, technician, junior technician, and other roles in our course.
Infrastructure: Very good facilities and infrastructure are available for students in our course and Wi-Fi, labs , etc. Jamia hostel is very good, and there is a friendly nature in Jamia hostel. Food is very disgusting in the mess. The sports complex is very beautiful.
Faculty: Teacher is very helpful in nature, well qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is very good. This course makes students industry-ready. Semester examination is not difficult if you study very well, and then you can clear any exam as a constituent.

Our college has good faculty members.
Placements: Our college has a good placement record in engineering. Our department has not produced a particularly good placement record. There are big companies that come to our college and students do crack massive placements in MNCs. Compared to the fees, the placement you get here is exponential.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is kind of very good. It has a library with all kinds of books and also has a reading hall, which is quite effective for students. Some labs are completed in college, but some practicals require performance on a helicopter or airplane, so a weekly visit to Rohini heliport is made.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are good. They have all worked on various types of helicopters and are licenced to fly them. Teachers help every student in every aspect. Semester exams are quite hard and their passing percentage is the same as others. It has DGCA module exams whose passing percentage is 75%.
Other: It would be better if our college had its own heliport.

I am fully dissatisfied with the placement of students in this course.
Placements: The percentage of students placed last year is thirty. The highest package is 8 lakh, and the lowest package is 3 lakh. Indigo, Vistara, Air India, etc., are some of the top companies recruiting. About 25 percent of students got internships from my senior batches. The top role offered is Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.
Infrastructure: The facilities at the college are very good. The infrastructure is well designed, and classrooms, labs, and the library are very clean. In the hostel, the food quality is normal, and a canteen is available. However, medical facilities are not available on the hostel campus.
Faculty: The teachers and staff are very good and helpful. The teaching quality is excellent, and they are knowledgeable. The semester exams are normal, but sometimes the exams can be very hard. Overall, the semester exams are average, with a pass percentage above 80%. Some exams are above average, while others are quite difficult.
Other: Because of my interest in the aviation industry.
