Amazing University for Masters, with superb campus and faculty.
Placements: Almost 70% of the students got placed. The highest salary package offered was 13 LPA, the lowest salary package offered was 6.5 LPA, and the average salary package offered was 9.5 LPA. The top recruiting companies are EXL, Infosys, IIP, Wells Fargo. The top roles offered are Consultant, Analyst, Associates. Almost 80% of the students got an internship from companies like Wells Fargo, IIP, Foundation for MSME clusters.
Infrastructure: Facilities available are Wi-Fi, Classrooms, Library, reading room. Hostel facilities are very good in terms of food, washrooms and rooms. The quality of food in the SIS building is very good, and the medical facility is available 24 hrs in the campus. Sports and games facilities are available in the campus.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and have pursued a degree from foreign universities like Cambridge University. The teaching quality is superb. The course curriculum is relevant. It is a mixture of mathematical as well as theoretical subjects. The students are industry-ready.
Other: I was interested in economies along with something related to trade. Hence I chose this course which provides a specialisation in trade. There should be more of coding assignments which would help the students. The campus crowd is superb. Connectivity is also good, and it takes just 15 minutes to drive to the campus from Hauz Khas metro station.

Jawaharlal Nehru University.
Placements: The placement cell is very good in the campus. Many companies come every year. Placements takes place at different schools and departments like economics, computer Science etc. When we talk about economics department, the average package is around 10 lpa. Also there is a central placement cell which was started in 2017.
Infrastructure: Jawaharlal Nehru University was established in 1969. So the campus completes 50 year this year. The greenery, buildings, deers etc. Makes the campus worth studying. Hostels are also old at the same time neat and clean. As I said the buildings are 50 years old. So they won't look good, still they are clean.
Faculty: One of the best faculty members in India. Almost all the faculty members did their Ph.D. from foreign universities like harvard, MIT, California university, Oxford etc. Course is very tough. But teacher student interactions makes the campus the best. Recently jawaharlal Nehru University was ranked 2 in National institute ranking frame (nirf).

It is the best opportunity to study.
Placements: JNU is the best university than Delhi University. JNU is the best to pursue post-graduation. In future, they provide many good opportunities after completing post-graduation from JNU with a good salary package. Apart from graduation, there are many other courses available, like language courses.
Infrastructure: Our university provides good facilities, technology and good environment. A cafeteria and washrooms provided are clean. JNU college is huge rather than other colleges. JNU also provide hotel facilities for students. The college provides separate hostel facility for both girls and boys. Security guards are available at the college and as well as in the hotels.
Faculty: Staff members at our college are good and helpful. They take strict action if anyone complains regarding anything.
Other: They conduct much competition of dance, debate, music and sports. University takes care of students hidden talent.

Students also asked

Q:   Can I get admission to JNU without CUET?

A:

To get admission at Jawaharlal Nehru University, candidates must visit the official website of the University (jnu.ac.in) or NTA for course-wise admission criteria. JNU admission to most of the UG, PG and Diploma courses are based on candidates' performance in the CUET-UG & CUET-PG scores. For admission to JNU BA (Hons.) in Foreign Languages, BSc.-MSc Integrated programme in Ayurveda Biology and Certificate of Proficiency courses, JNU accepts CUET-UG. For JNU PG courses including MTech, MPH, MA, MSc, MCA and PG Diploma in Big Data, admission is based on CUET-PG scores. For JNU MBA admission 2025, CUET-PG is not valid and is dependent on CAT scores.

Q:   Is JNU better than DU?

A:

As per the NIRF 2024 rankings, JNU is ranked 2nd, while DU is ranked 6th under 'University' category. This clearly suggests that JNU is a better university overall. However, these rankings are based on a variety of factors. Furthermore, the best university for a student will depend on the individual needs and preferences. Here is the comparison of JNU and DU based on some key factors:

  • Academics: JNU is known for its strong academics and research focus. It has a number of world-renowned faculty members, and its students have gone on to achieve great things in their careers. DU is also a good university academically, but it is not as research-intensive as JNU.
  • Campus Life: JNU has a vibrant campus life with a strong student union. There are many student organizations and activities, and the university has a reputation for being a hotbed of political activism. DU also has a good campus life, but it is not as political as JNU.
  • Location: JNU is located in South Delhi, while DU is spread out across the city. This means that JNU students have a more central location, while DU students have more options when it comes to choosing a college or hostel.
  • Fees: The fees at JNU are lower than the fees at DU. This is because JNU is a central university, while DU is a state university.

Q:   Is M.Sc. at JNU a good choice?

A:
{Source: M.Sc. students & alumni}

Here's what current students and alumni have to say:

Pros:

* Excellent Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, knowledgeable, and supportive. They provide great lessons, and practical classes are helpful.
* Good Infrastructure: The university has a great campus with modern facilities, including a state-of-the-art library, laboratories, and hostel amenities.
* Placements: While the placement rate may vary across departments, some students reported getting internships and even job offers from reputed companies like D.E. Shaw, Deloitte USI, and McKinsey & Company.
* Scholarships: The university offers scholarships to deserving students.
* Campus Life: Students enjoy a lively campus culture with regular events, festivals, and sports competitions.

Cons:

* Limited Placements: Not all students get placed immediately after completing their degree, although some do secure internships.
* Old Curriculum: Some students felt that the course curriculum could be updated to include more industrial exposure.
* Hostel Conditions: Although the hostel facilities are generally good, some students mentioned that they needed improvement.
* Facilities for Research Students: Limited research opportunities and resources might affect students' ability to pursue higher degrees.

Overall Assessment: Based on the feedback from students and alumni, pursuing an M.Sc. at JNU seems like a good choice for those interested in academics, research, and networking. While the placement record may not be stellar, the university's strong reputation, excellent faculty, and vibrant campus atmosphere make it an attractive option. However, potential students should weigh these pros against the cons and consider whether JNU aligns with their individual goals and expectations.
