Review of NIT by student.
Placements: My college has a good placement record. The highest package offered to students in my course was 18 lakhs, and the lowest was 7 lakhs. Top recruiting companies are interested in this course. Over 70% of students in my course got internships.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available in this course are very good. My college has classrooms and Wi-Fi. The food is tasty and the students like it. There is a medical facility, and sports and games are played on campus.
Faculty: The quality of teaching here is really good. The teachers are very helpful and qualified, and the course curriculum is designed to make students industry-ready. The semester exams are easy, so the pass percentage is very good.
Other: I don't think there is any desire to improve this course. There are events that happen on campus, and scholarships are available.

The Worst College but Good Placements.
Placements: The highest package was INR 83.60 LPA, the average package was INR 15.74 LPA, and the minimum package was INR 3 LPA. Around 380 companies came for placement in 2023. Student in the 7th semester can register for the placement cell. Many good companies visited campus, such as Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Oracle, and IBM, and many core branch companies also visited, such as Fractal, and they all offered around 1200 jobs. In 2023, the highest package was offered 53 LPA, and the average package is 14.2 LPA. Around 97 percent students get placed last year. I also want to sit under placement in the 7th semester and try to grab good opportunities.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very old, and the entire campus is extremely poor. Hostels are overcrowded, and Wi-Fi is extremely slow, and even simple browsing becomes difficult. Mess food is simply pathetic, and you will never enjoy it. Medical facilities are available 24/7. There is very good sports facility with a lot of games available.
Faculty: Faculty is just ridiculous, and you won't understand anything in class. You will have to rely on YouTube for each and every thing. Course curriculum is absolutely irrelevant, and it has no relation with the industry needs. Semester exams are very easy, and you can easily ace it even without studying.

Exploration of NIT Rourkela.
Placements: Campus placements are excellent, attracting top-tier companies. Students who do not secure campus placements often explore entrepreneurial ventures, like starting their own cement company. Preparation for placements begins in the 7th semester, with students undertaking internships in the 5th semester to enhance their employability. Students typically receive salaries ranging from Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 25000 during internships.
Infrastructure: Campus life, while perceived as somewhat routine, offers excellent clubs and infrastructure. Various festivals, such as Cosmo and Teach First Innovation, as well as Nitrutsav and Vrddhi Sports Fest, contribute to the vibrant atmosphere. The presence of numerous clubs and social groups enhances the overall experience, although there are some issues with hostel maintenance.
Faculty: The department has a faculty of 32 members who serve around 300 students. In the larger scope of NIT, there are more than 10,000 students and 700 faculty and staff members. The faculty members are exceptionally qualified, with a significant representation among the top 2% of scientists worldwide. NIT provides dedicated portals for faculty reviews, and term exams are held every four months, usually being quite manageable.
Other: The fee structure is considered expensive, which encourages some students to take out loans. Job opportunities and private internships are available, but the fee policy poses challenges. The absence of scholarships has been noted, causing financial difficulties for students.

Faculty: Faculty is absolutely pathetic and you won't understand anything in class. YouTube will be your only medium of study for the next 4 years. The course curriculum is highly irrelevant and is simply the worst with no relevance to industrial demands. Semester exams are just cupcakes, and you will easily ace them without even studying.

Large campus and good academics.
Placements: According to our institute's magazine, the placement percentage is 95%, with the highest package of 45 LPA and an average of 5 LPA. This year, placements have increased. For students of software, mostly product-based companies like Flipkart and Amazon came, and for ceramic students, Indian companies came.
Infrastructure: Our classrooms are very good for creating a study environment. Classes have an AC system and modern facilities. It feels comfortable to study here. There is no Wi-Fi in our classrooms. The labs are also good. There is a central library with a vast collection of over 20,000 books, and Wi-Fi is available.
Faculty: The teachers are experienced and have a lot of knowledge. They previously taught in prestigious colleges, and teachers are cooperative. Also, it depends on you and how you respond to the teachers. There are 2 semesters in a year, with a mid-semester in one semester. You have to score at least 35 percent to pass the subjects.
Other: At first, Rourkela was my home town so I chose this college. My course has a great opportunity for higher studies in foreign countries. There are lots of fests happening in a year, and main fests are Innovision, Nitrustav, Cosmo, etc.
