NIT Rourkela: the dream college.
Placements: In the case of the mining branch, it has nearly 100% in the academic year 2023–24. The highest package was 18 lacs, the median was 9 lacs, and the average package was 9 lacs. The top recruiters are Tata Steel, Vedanta and many more. The role that you get is assistant engineer.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided by the institute in terms of accommodation, faculty members, etc. are quite good. The classroom and library are well-equipped and maintained. The rooms provided by the hostel are well ventilated and spaced, and the food served at the hostel can be improved as well.
Faculty: The faculty members are good and very helpful to their students. The teachers are very experienced. And they are experts in their domain. The curriculum provided during the semester is very helpful. Exams are good and provide sufficient time for preparation for exams.
Other: Fests are really nice and exciting.

Review of NIT rourkela mining engineering.
Placements: The mining course's average package in 2022 is INR 9.2 lacs; the highest was somewhere around INR 16 lacs, and the median was INR 8 lacs. Mining engineering in 2023 got 100% placement, which is very hard to achieve overall; placement at NIT Rourkela is good enough; and mining is rated after IIT Dhanbad.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of NIT Rourkela is remarkable and has the best infrastructure inspired by the IIT Kharagpur campus. It has a 1200-acre greenery campus with all types of facilities like a swimming pool, an activity center, a sports complex, a garden, etc.
Faculty: Faculty are good enough and well knowledgeable, but the thing is that you have to cooperate with them, which would be a challenging thing for you otherwise. There are four exams per year: two main semesters and two midterms, which could irritate you.
Other: I chose this course. because I was getting civil, which I did not want because its placement is not so good, and then I heard that mining has 100% placement, which attracted me during counseling, and I chose mining.

Discussion on NITR with Om Prakash Mallick.
Placements: Each branch has a placement rate of over 95% based on annual data. In 2023, the highest package offered was 84lpa, while the lowest was 3lpa, with an average of 13lpa. The top recruiting companies for my course were MCL, CIL, TCS, Vedanta, and HINDALCO. The college offers mandatory internship opportunities in the third year.
Infrastructure: NIT Rourkela offers excellent facilities as it is a top-tier college, ranked 16th in NIRF. Every department has its own beautiful building equipped with all the necessary equipment for their studies. The hostel facilities are top-notch, providing free Wi-Fi and geyser facilities. The mess food is also of exceptional quality. The institute also has its own medical hospital and a wide range of sports facilities are available.
Faculty: The majority of professors, nearly 90%, have graduated from IITs, possessing vast knowledge that is reflected in the exam papers. In addition to academic focus, teachers also encourage entrepreneurship, research, and other pursuits. Semester exams are notably challenging due to the high level of intelligence among the faculty. To pass, a minimum score of 30 out of 100 is required.
Other: I opted for this course as this college is renowned for its exceptional department since its inception. The most remarkable aspect of this course is its vast potential, offering a 100% job opportunity. My course has already undergone significant enhancements, leaving no room for further improvements. Throughout the year, three major festivals were organized, featuring a multitude of events.

Don't understimate the power CGPA and Don't mess up with your professors.
Placements: Here the Statistics of placed student is around 98% and 2% are unplaced because of backlogs. Basically 80% are placed in core companies like jsw, vedanta, relience, Aditya Birla, tata. And rest are preparing for software and analytics but coding culture is not so good.
Infrastructure: Every hostel has a huge common room and TT tables but it will be good to come with your sport instrument. The most fascinated garden, badminton court and nigh dad canteens in every hostel. Some washrooms are goods and well tiled and some are not. Wi-Fi and LAN is not that up to the mark but okayish.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable but some of them are rude and some are well friendly. Course curriculum is significant. 85% attendance is mandatory. Semester exam are hard. You have to study for them. But you will gonna study one night before exam cause that's what engineers do.
Other: Our student activity center NIT Rourkela organise many fest like NITRUSTAV, Innovision, Cosmo, Celebrity nights. Over all campus life is full of joy and enjoyment.

If you are getting it you must choose it blindly without a doubt in your mind.
Placements: When it comes about placement our college is the best college in our state Odisha and also it has more technical value than some of the IIT's also. Most of the students get placed every year of our course and despite of which course of B.Tech they are doing. I don't have an idea about the highest and the lowest package that much but the average package of our course is 10 lpa. And previous year one of the CSE students got a package of 1 cr pa. In our course many companies came for recruiting whether core or non core a total of at least 100 companies come to our college combining all courses. Then coming to internships. Some companies organise tests interviews to give internships and some are paid internships but the point is most of the students get internship at someplace for sure.
Infrastructure: First about the infrastructure. I mean this the best one can get around whole India. Have a total number of 8-9 hostels 2 for girls and rest for boys. We also have the 2nd the biggest hostel in the whole Asian behind IIT kharagpur where a total of 1600 students are residing. Every room of our boys hostel has a maximum of two boys (either single room or two boys). Every hostel has ethernet facility. Where one can use unlimited net for their study purposes. We have e book library with AC. Labs and classrooms have all great facilities. And then food. Every time we have two options for food. Normally unlimited. Any one can eat as much as they want. And taste is quite good too. And also sports games medical facilities are all available easily here.
Faculty: Many facilities who are teaching us have stayed in such high posts in the whole India in some part of their career. Like for example our mining hod is the writer of mining books for GATE exams which is followed by many students in whole India. So by that one can know how qualified and knowledgeable they are. And the quality of teaching is best also. Without a doubt. Course is totally curriculum relevant where the labs and practicals we do every time gives us a brief idea how the industry works. So it makes us industry ready. Semester exams are difficult in terms of questions but due to the standard of teaching it makes easy for us. And pass percentage is 33%.
