It is a good place to learn, but there are no placements.
Placements: Placements in UIET for Biotechnology are not really good. Hardly two to three companies come here for placements therefore not more than 5 students are placed each year out of a batch of 90 students.
The average salary offered is approximately 3 lakh per annum. The roles offered are of research trainees since it is a research-based field. Students have to look or search for their internships on their own. Internships do not generally offer any stipends. It is a better place to study the course but without expecting any sort of placements or internships.
Most of the senior batch students have opted for further studies in India and abroad to make their future bright.
If one really wants to make a career in biotechnology, then it is a better place to study.
Infrastructure: Our department has a very good infrastructure offering newly built building, labs and classrooms. Classrooms are well equipped with new teaching methods which are widely adopted by the teachers. Labs are equipped with the latest technology and best standards. There is no compromise in learning. It provides full exposure to real life technology and standards. The canteen offers a variety of food with good quality, it is a good place to hang out during free lectures. We are provided with the library which contains a variety of books related to our course which can be easily issued if needed. Hostels are easily available for the genuine students who belong to far off places and are newly built with a canteen offering good food.
Faculty: Our teachers are very experienced, qualified and knowledgeable. They are very helpful and interactive.
They adopt advanced teaching methods such as projectors, presentations and discussion are quite common. Timely tests and quizzes are organised to evaluate students.
Student to faculty ratio is 70:1, it is still easier to learn things in the classrooms. Industrial trips are organised for students to provide real life exposure. The course curriculum relates everything to real life with its vast applications in the real world.
Each and every concept taught has its applications.
