Review of UIET(Panjab University).
Placements: The placement in CSE department is very good. Almost every student gets placed unless he has a backlog. Especially the placement this year is really good every student is placed, but still many companies are coming for placement or hiring interns. Compared to the previous year, this year more companies came in for student placement and hiring interns. The companies like Adobe, Deloitte, ZS came in for the placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is one the best things of the university. You are provided with 24-hour service of the library. Labs are fully equipped with your needs. Panjab University provides students with all the necessary things that a student needs. The hostels are great, except for the ones which were built with the university. Wi-Fi just makes your life better with a high-speed internet which just makes everything easy for you. Though the process of getting one is hectic, it's worth the trouble.
Faculty: The course curriculum is very helpful for a student. Everything a CS student needs to learn is taught. The faculty is not good, except for a few teachers, no one knows about the course. They just come and try to translate the book in Hindi, that's it. The teachers lack proper knowledge of the subject, and often students lose their interest in the subjects. Where engineering is about creating and learning things, here the teachers just care about marks and the theory. That's not engineering. Often, you have to study on your own.

It is better to come and join the campus with so many good features
Placements: The placements for my batch and senior batch were given in Delhi, Jaipur, Bangalore, etc. They placed the students with above 80%. The lowest and highest salary for students is from 3-8 lakhs PA. The companies like Pine Labs, Wipro, Infotech, etc. visited the campus. The roles that were given by companies were very unique. 20-30% students got the internship from the college.
Infrastructure: The campus is so big that are we get almost all facilities that a student needs. There are facilities like free Wi-Fi, different labs, VC rooms, medical facilities, sports and games, etc and much more. The quality is at top in the university. The canteen offers a hygenic and healthy food to the students. Hostel rooms are okay.
Faculty: The faculty members of Panjab University were enriched with knowledge and were ready to help students. There is a 35:1 ratio of students and teachers. The teachers used different teaching techniques to teach the student according to the need.

The course curriculum is good, but infrastructure is average according to the fee structure.
Placements: Placements were almost 80%. During the year 2014-15, placement many reputed companies came for the placement like Aricent, Infosys, Deloitte, ZS, Nagarro and much more. Packages offered were also good according to the current market stats and drives were smooth. Many companies were invited by the TPC committee by presenting the caliber of the students studying there.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is overall good. Roads/paths towards the academic blocks were clean with a spacious parking. Labs were also well-maintained but an issue of electricity was there. Annual festivals (cultural and technical both) were a learning experience for everyone in some perspective. The food quality in the college cafeteria was average, not so good.
Faculty: The faculty team is good except some of them, I was in the CSE branch, so most of the faculty members and lab attendants were supportive. The course curriculum is properly defined, but in my perspective, it should be changed according to the requirement in the market. But, the things, I learned there, I am finding them useful somewhere in my current profession.
Other: You can opt this college for your bachelors degree, but stay away from elections that generally happen in the odd semesters during the college journey. Rest everything depends upon the interest of the student what he wants to achieve. The life is fun there and I found faculty members supportive during my journey. Anyways, hurdles are always there when you want to achieve something big and unique.

The college has good placements, good faculty, excellent curriculum.
Placements: The placement cell is good. But the packages do not go above that 4-5 lakhs per annum. The average placement rate is about 50%. The average package is about 2 lakhs per annum. The previous batch had quite a good placement record. Many worthy students were handed the jobs. Many tech companies like Wipro, Infosys, TCS, etc came in the placement round. The average package for the last batch was 2.5 lakhs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good. The college is spread over 250 acres. The quality of the hostel is also good. But the number of hostels is limited and the main hostels are awarded to the students on the basis of their merit. The classrooms are pretty good. The sports committee is active and the sports teams of the college have excelled in various competitions held at various colleges. The canteens are also good. The quality of the food is above average as all the other hostel messes are.
Faculty: The faculty team is excellent and well-qualified. Some of the teachers are graduates from IIT and NIT which is pretty good considering the amount of time since the college has been started. The course curriculum has been inherited from IIT-Roorkee. The curriculum is excellent. The teachers are ecstatic about teaching and the curriculum is hard considering it is from IIT. That is what makes it good. The teachers are ever ready for helping us. Smart class is installed in some of the classes but not all the classes. But it is promised that they will be installed after some time. The student to faculty is ratio is about 40:1 which is quite average as compare to other colleges. The industrial exposure is good. The first year students are also given four weeks of training for their development. The second and the third year students are also provided with the train inside the colleges. The fourth year students have an option to choose from the training outside of the college or inside the college.
Other: The other thing I want to write about the college is where it is placed. If is placed in the beautiful city of Chandigarh. If is clean, well-maintained and there are no traffic jams. The crowd of the college is also good. People hang out with each other. There is not much racism in the college except a few.

Q:   Is B.Tech from PUCHD expensive?

A:

The total tuition fee for BTech ranges between INR 99,710 and INR 6.19 Lakh. This fee, however, is sourced from an unofficial source. Hence, is indicative. Other than the course fee, students are required to pay the registration fee for JEE Main, JAC Chandigarh, PU LEET or PU MEET depending on their admission process. Considering the fee charged by the topmost BTech colleges in the country, i.e., IITs, the fee charged by PU can not be considered affordable provided it goes up to 6.19 Lacs tuition charges. However, the university offers a wide range of merit, category-based and other scholarships for handicapped students to furnish the financial needs of the students. More details on the same can be obtained from the official website.

Coming back to the additional charges that students are required to pay beyond the tuition charges is the fee for JEE Main application form. The same for General/ Gen-EWS/ OBC (NCL) male candidates is INR 650 for a single paper while SC/ ST/ PwD/ Transgender and Female candidates are required to pay application fees of INR 325. Additionally, the application fee for JAC Chandigarh is INR 2,800 and the same for PU LEET and PU MEET is INR 2,175 and INR 2,500, respectively.
