Satisfied with everything in my college. Positive atmosphere and supportive faculty and seniors.
Placements: The placements are quite dependant on the branch, but as far IT is concerned, they are appreciable. 90-100% students are placed for IT and CSE branch. Normally, the highest package offered is about 7.6 lakhs per annum, and the lowest is 3.2 LPA, but fortunately, in the current year(2017), Adobe visited our campus for the first time and offered a package of 20 LPA, and a student got selected in it. The average package offered is 4.5-5 LPA. Adobe, Deloitte, Z-Scaler, ZS Associates, Gemini Solutions, Tech Mahindra, Grey B, Wipro, Infosys and many more companies visited the college. The roles offered were of data analyst, software developer, risk analyst, data consultant, data security. About 30-40% students get placed for the internship offered by the campus. The stipends are based on the skill of the student.
Infrastructure: All the facilities are highly available on the campus except proper medical facilities. The labs are well-maintained and equipped with proper instruments, and the quality of classrooms are of satisfactory level. The canteen and cafeteria are also well maintained. The hostel rooms are decent ones, but the process of acquiring them are somewhat cumbersome and complex(mains rank basis criteria). All the necessary facilities are available in the hostel. Centralised TPC (training and placements cell) is under construction, but overall you will enjoy your college life to the fullest.
Faculty: The faculty and course curriculum is very relevant according to the courses for which you have applied. The faculty members are very inspiring, motivating, supportive and full of knowledge. Smart and interactive teaching aids are used with proper scheduling of each and every subject. 50:1 is the approximate student to faculty ratio. An opportunity is available for everyone, but the gaining of industry exposure totally depends on the student. The course curriculum is very useful for the further studies and research work, and overall development is sure.
Other: It totally depends on the student's hard work and efforts where he/she wants to see himself/herself in the future. UIET is not on the top like IITs and NITs but can provide a well-maintained platform for your future building. UIETians are rocking in every field.

Comprehensively, a good college. Some betterment can be made.
Placements: The placements see a good season here. Students from CSE, IT, ECE see a boom in their campus selections, whereas those from BioTech or mechanical departments have relatively low placements. Some of the major firms visiting here for campus recruitment are Deloitte, KPMG, ZScalar, Jugnoo etc. About 70-80 percentage of the students got placed from CSE, IT and ECE. The package ranges from 3.25 to 12 LPA. Some are consultancy jobs like in Deloitte, KPMG and others do provide some core coding jobs like those Jugnoo and others. Infosys also recruits a large number of grads from here. Students have to do the internships (compulsory in college curriculum), on their own anywhere. There is no any interference from college in this regard.
Infrastructure: The college provides a reasonably high-speed 24*7 internet connection. The speed ranges from about 2-2.5 Mbps. The university has a central A/C Joshi library, having a 24*7 open reading room, and book issuing service open until 9 PM. There are department-specific libraries for all the departments in the university, which are open during the office hours. The medical facility is provided free in the Bhai Ghanaiya Ji medical Institute, inside the university campus. Sports and games also have high spirits in the college. There is a central sports ground, cricket ground, basketball court, shooting range, swimming pool and much more to cater all sort of sports and gaming facilities. The labs are well equipped as per TEQIP norms, classes also have good infrastructure with projector and board teaching methods. Food quality is average when comes to hostels. The canteens provide good snacks though. The hostel rooms are something to be felt great upon. They are two-bed rooms with an almirah, chair and table to each student. The infrastructure can't be stated bad here, but it still needs development, not at par with competitors.
Faculty: The teacher-student ratio a 60:1 here. The faculty members are good, quite helpful and average knowledgeable in their subjects. The teaching methods include boards, presentations, lab practicals and class discussions. Several communication and ethics courses have had various class interaction activities. Industry exposure is not as such seen here, before placements, but yes, there are various workshops and seminars conducted by many industrialists, successful people, and alumni. Various events also cater a good level of industry interaction, like Udyami, Efficars etc. The course curriculum is not that good. There are many irrelevant subjects, or even irrelevant topics taught, which don't see any future applications or usage in engineering or even real life.

Awesome journey with faculty and great college life.
Placements: The placement process was smooth in my college. There was almost 100% placement for the students who appeared for placements (excluding further studies), and are offered a maximum package of 6.5 LPA, and the average package offered was 4 LPA. Many companies visited the campus, and some of them are Deloitte, ZS Associates, Infosys, Sufi, Z scalar, etc. The roles majorly focused on software engineer, technology associates, and business associates.
Infrastructure: The college has free Wi-Fi, labs with many types of equipment, library with many books, novels etc., and sporting zone like badminton, tennis, cricket, basketball etc. The food quality is awesome favouring the taste of Punjab. I was a day scholar but, whenever I visited hostel to my friend's place, I can say it as my second home. As the college is affiliated with Punjab University and served by the state government, there were no issues faced related to Infrastructure.
Faculty: Now, coming to major part teaching, I will say it was good because coming from school to college, there is a huge difference, so we need a helping hand to get into this bigger world, which I found in my college. The technical, as well as non-technical staff, was very much support during my tenure in college. The faculty has made use of methods like presentations, online courses from IIT's etc., to provide us with better knowledge of concepts. For a class it was like 50 students being taught by a faculty but, every student was assigned a mentor. During my third year of engineering, I got the industry exposure in Infosys Pvt. Ltd., Chandigarh. So, overall, my experience was good with the course to make me into a proper engineer.
Other: I want to share an experience with you all. All might have heard that the government college is not that good like the private one, I also have the same thought but, it totally changed when I landed in UIET, Punjab University. I still remember my first day in the college, I was totally confused before going to it like what to do, where to go etc., but, as I reached the college, there were proper instructions provided to first-year students and faculty were awesome on the first day. It was like school times. And, in the final year of engineering almost all the students cried to leave that beautiful place where we spent 4 years of our life.

A quality institute with average infrastructure
Placements: Placements are overall good as of what we have seen. It actually goes from highest in CSE, IT to lowest in ME and Biotech. Most of the students from CSE, IT and ECE get placed in the campus placements itself. Some opt for off-campus drives too. Whereas campus placements are near to no for Biotech people. The highest package offered by the visiting companies is around 8 LPA (by Jugnoo) to least 3.25 LPA (Infosys). The top visiting companies are Deloitte, ZScalar, KPMG, Jugnoo, Mahindra & Mahindra, Swaraj and much more. Some of the companies are consultancy firms, where students go for consultancy jobs, whereas in tech companies, they go for a developer or alike jobs. Internships are made compulsory for the students by college, but there are no directions on where and what to do. So students are free to choose any of the internships of their choice. The Design and Innovation Centre in the college also provides unpaid internships to the students in the projects hosted by it.
Infrastructure: The college actually lacks infrastructure, when it comes to the buildings and such. The Wi-Fi facility has no problems, there is 24*7 high-speed Internet connectivity, with 5-7 Mbps of average downloading speed. Labs are also well-equipped with all advanced instruments and software. Classrooms are also spacious, well furnished and installed with projectors and boards. There is a college library (open during daytime), and a central library (open 24*7), having quite a large number of books, ranging over all topics. The library has an excellent reading environment, which is one of the most promising features of a college. Medical facilities are free for the students of the University, in the BGJ Institute of Health, located in the University Campus. Sports and games are also conducted very well. The university has a sports ground, shooting range, swimming pool, etc. thus contributing to a good sports environment over the campus. Labs and classrooms are all excellent, and up to date with latest trends. The canteen food is fine, but not good, to be true. Hostels are excellent in the University, having a very good environment, giving a home-like feel. There are no issues actually related to infrastructure, but it is not that lavish. The infrastructure cannot attract you to join this college.
Faculty: Faculty members are good here. They are helpful and have good knowledge of the subject matter. Along with teachings over the subject, students get to know about their future prospects and applications. Generally, the teachings are made on boards or with presentations on projectors. The teacher-student ratio is 1:60. Industrial trips and training are conducted and Internships are also to be done by the 3rd year of study, so all this contributes to a good extent of industrial exposure. The course curriculum is decided by the university itself and thus it is useful and updated too, based on current industry requirements and trends.

Satisfied because of overall environment, good placements, good infra, nice exposure.
Placements: The placements are good. 90% students of CS & IT were placed last year (2016).
For other branches, the placements are average and not up to the mark. For ECE & EEE, placements are about 30-40%. Biotech's placements are really low and you cannot expect anything much. Speaking of the year 2017, placements are going on quite well. Mahindra & Mahindra, Swaraj Mazda, Deloitte, ZS Associates, KPMG, etc. are some companies that have visited the campus till August 2017. The highest package offered in 2016 was 11.5 lacs offered by Revive Healthcare. The average package is 4-5 lacs per annum. The lowest salary package offered was 3.2 lacs by Infosys. The college does not provide any kind of paid internship or help in getting the students selected for internships. The students are supposed to grab internships by themselves.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is of a moderate level. There are two academic blocks, a college canteen, a workshop, a library, a basketball court, a workshop block, a mechanical block, etc. in the college. The labs are well equipped with modern computer systems.
Wi-Fi and LAN both are available inside the college campus.
The speed of the Wi-Fi is mindblowing. The classrooms & lecture halls are in a very good condition.
Projectors are available in every classroom. In some labs, TVs are also there to help the students through digital portals.
The canteen provides a decent quality of food and a nominal price rate. There is a dispensary in the college which is completely free for the students. Medicines are made available free of cost. The hostel rooms are quite good. All the rooms are two seaters and fully Wi-Fi connected. You will never be offline anywhere.
Faculty: The faculty is nice and of a helping nature. UIET has a highly qualified faculty for its students. The teachers are helpful in nature. After the classes, the teachers are available in their offices to be reached by the students for doubts and all other types of queries. Both digital and pen paper methods are used to teach the students. The student to faculty ratio is quite adequate. There is an emphasis on practical exposure also. The course curriculum is related to the stream you choose and is there to expand your knowledge on that subject.
