Yes, Punjab University is under CUET. All postgraduate courses at Central University of Punjab, including the M.Ed., require CUET PG. If you have not taken the CUET PG, the university will not evaluate your application for admission.

A national level entrance test for postgraduate programs in India is called the Common University Entrance Test (CUET PG). The National Testing Agency (NTA) is in charge of conducting it. The test consists of three portions and is based on multiple-choice questions:

Subject-specific Test (SST) and General Test (GAT)
WAT: Writing Ability Test
The GAT part evaluates the candidate's aptitude and general knowledge. The SST portion assesses the candidate's familiarity with the field of study they intend to pursue. A candidate's writing abilities are evaluated in the WAT portion.

Admission to postgraduate programs at Central University of Punjab is entirely based on performance in the CUET PG exam. Your other academic credentials, such as the grades you earned in your bachelor's degree, won't be taken into account by the university for admission.

{Source: M.A. students & alumni}

After analyzing the feedback from current students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

Pros:

* Good faculty: Many students praised the professors' qualifications, knowledge, and approachability.
* Well-structured course curriculum: The curriculum is relevant, and students appreciate the theoretical foundations.
* Infrastructure and amenities: The campus is well-maintained, with decent facilities, including a library, gym, and recreational spaces.
* Exposure to various activities: The university offers various extracurricular activities, festivals, and events, allowing students to explore their interests.

Cons:

* Placement record: The placement rate is relatively low, and many students rely on self-effort or pursuing higher education (e.g., NET or Ph.D.) for career advancement.
* Limited industry connections: The university's ties with industries seem limited, resulting in fewer job opportunities for students.

This college is good for government job preparation, especially UPSC.

They are focused especially on UPSC using sociology as an optional or others join UGC NET to work as a research assistant or professor in this college.
Infrastructure: This college provides adequate infrastructure for fulfilling all basic needs regarding sociology with good classrooms and a reading room. It provides a conference room along with a library. It provides facilities with ample space.
Faculty: This college provides very less faculty members while most teach by research scholars. Faculty members are highly qualified. They are very hardworking and cooperative. They also help overall development of students, and their future has a deep impact on them.

Our college lacks faculty members and resources.
Placements: There are no placements whatsoever. Either UGC net or civil services are the only option left for students. There is no field work or dissertation therefore very less practical experience that would help us to get job or internship in private sector.
Infrastructure: Basic infrastructure is provided and the hostel is the same as other Panjab University courses. So there is no difference. The department library is also provided and a conference hall for various seminars and conferences is also available with good facilities and proper good location.
Faculty: Semester exams are not so tough and internal exams are very easy. The teachers are also very cooperative in setting up exam papers that are appropriate for the course with wholistic coverage of the syllabus. The curriculum is relevant to the UGC NET exam.

I am satisfied with the faculty, crowd and exposure, but not with the placements.
Placements: There are no campus placements nor were there any for the previous batch. There's been an annual visit by the companies which rarely hire the students from this department. The main pursuit of the students is also to become a lecturer by furthering their studies in PhD. But the knowledge provided is excellent. So the students get easy placements in some colleges as the faculty.
Infrastructure: The University is spread across a large area and provides a vast variety of amenities to the students. The canteens are hygienic. There's proper inspection of the food on a regular basis. Apart from that, the university has a separate library for each department. In addition to this, there are other facilities like a fax machine, printers, projectors, etc.
Faculty: The student to teacher ratio is around 25:1 and the curriculum offer various webinars and workshops. The teachers are experts in their field and are reputed speakers too in some of the colleges. They are very helpful and knowledgeable. Most of them are M.Phil, PhD or research scholars.
