Yes, Punjab University is under CUET. All postgraduate courses at Central University of Punjab, including the M.Ed., require CUET PG. If you have not taken the CUET PG, the university will not evaluate your application for admission.

A national level entrance test for postgraduate programs in India is called the Common University Entrance Test (CUET PG). The National Testing Agency (NTA) is in charge of conducting it. The test consists of three portions and is based on multiple-choice questions:

Subject-specific Test (SST) and General Test (GAT)
WAT: Writing Ability Test
The GAT part evaluates the candidate's aptitude and general knowledge. The SST portion assesses the candidate's familiarity with the field of study they intend to pursue. A candidate's writing abilities are evaluated in the WAT portion.

Admission to postgraduate programs at Central University of Punjab is entirely based on performance in the CUET PG exam. Your other academic credentials, such as the grades you earned in your bachelor's degree, won't be taken into account by the university for admission.

Punjab University review by M.Sc. Physics student.
Placements: We do not place students on campus. We have to apply to companies on our own. We have to either go for higher education or switch to some other field. Students go for research, probably and some switch careers and go for non-teaching and teaching roles in service-based companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities are good. We have almost everything in our labs. The Wi-Fi also works fast. The library is vast, cool and filled with books from all the courses. The hostel is nice. The students are very friendly. We have a lot of fun together.
Faculty: The teachers are nice and helpful. They understand our problem. They guide us on how to proceed further. The curriculum is old and is mainly designed for research purposes. The semester exams are easy and they mainly follow the private year papers. Just solve them.

The placements are good, but the competition is tough.
Placements: This course has good placements. The sister branch of this department offers medical physics course, which has most numbers of placements. The salary offered is 60K per month, and every senior is placed till now. They are placed in hospitals for working, and one needs to give exams in PGI to get a degree, and it is a three-year course.
Infrastructure: This course is in Panjab University, Chandigarh. It is a tie-up between PGI and PU. It is a developing branch, so the infrastructure is not so good, though it is developing. It is located in secluded part of a university, i.e., south campus sector 25, Chandigarh. It has enough sanitation facility.
Faculty: The faculty members are not much as in one has to strive for guest faculty, and it is basically a course, where self-study works. There are teachers, but one cannot depend on them. It includes Radiation Physics in a large amount, and we deal with the nuclear physics. One applies physics in the field of medicine also, and it is a three-year course 2+1 internship.
Other: The numbers of students are 8+2 (foreign ). There are a few cultural events though one can always be a part of Physics fest.

    Our university is the best.
Placements: We have an average of 50 students in a class. There is no such package offered to M.Sc. Physics students. But teachers guide us time to time, and we really enjoyed this journey in our university. Presentations and group discussions are also included during our course.
Infrastructure: Libraries are fully air-conditioned and open 24/7. The study environment is very good. Mess food is also very nice, and the cost is reasonable for students. Study rooms are available in every hostel. Sports are organized from time to time.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is also very appreciable. They use advanced technology to help understand the concepts. Semester exams are not difficult if you study regularly during your course in 6 months.

Almost satisfied with faculty but not with placements.
Placements: There are hardly any placements, so the only opportunity left to the students is to pursue higher studies or either prepare themselves with the other alternatives like preparing for government exams or pursue their hobbies as careers. So, placements, as compared to colleges like University Business School, are almost nil.
Infrastructure: Precautionary instruments and tubes, satpula are available, but some of the chemicals are not present. The department is old, and as it has the lowest fee structure, the department is not able to incubate new facilities as well. The libraries are well built and provide maximum resources. The canteens are the favourite place for the youth to spend their time.
Faculty: The faculty are A1. They are well educated, but sometimes they start overly interfering with the students' personal life like they don't like the master's student to pursue extracurricular activities. The teaching comprises audio-visual only during seminars. The seminars provide great learning and the best part of the curriculum.

    Excellent university for all courses.
Placements: Placement records of university are excellent. Around 80 to 90 percemt students of my batch were placed through on-campus drives. Top companies like wipro, hp, infosys etc. visit every year. The highest package is 15 Lacs per annum.
Infrastructure: All the necessary facilities like washrooms, Wi-Fi, labs, etc. are available. There are well-equipped labs and sports room as well. There are multiple sports grounds for students. They maintain proper hygiene in hostel's food. There is a variety of food available.
Faculty: Teachers of my department were too strict in terms of attendance. 75 percent attendance was mandatory to sit in exams. Although their teaching method was quite simple and easy to understand. They always told important questions before exams. Semester exams were not too difficult.

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

    A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

Q:   Is M.A. at Panjab University worth the investment?

    A:
    {Source: M.A. students & alumni}

After analyzing the feedback from current students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

    Pros:

    * Good faculty: Many students praised the professors' qualifications, knowledge, and approachability.
    * Well-structured course curriculum: The curriculum is relevant, and students appreciate the theoretical foundations.
    * Infrastructure and amenities: The campus is well-maintained, with decent facilities, including a library, gym, and recreational spaces.
    * Exposure to various activities: The university offers various extracurricular activities, festivals, and events, allowing students to explore their interests.

    Cons:

    * Placement record: The placement rate is relatively low, and many students rely on self-effort or pursuing higher education (e.g., NET or Ph.D.) for career advancement.
    * Limited industry connections: The university's ties with industries seem limited, resulting in fewer job opportunities for students.
    * Research-oriented internships: While some internships are available, they tend to be research-focused rather than corporate-driven, limiting practical experience.
    * Academic intensity: Some students felt that the course load was too heavy, with little scope for hands-on learning or industry application.

In conclusion, whether M.A. at Panjab University is worth the investment depends on individual goals and expectations. For those seeking a strong academic foundation and theoretical knowledge, the university seems suitable. However, for those looking for direct industry exposure, job guarantees, or extensive career opportunities, they may need to supplement their degree with additional efforts or consider alternative options.

Recommendation: If you're considering the M.A. programme at Panjab University, weigh the pros and cons carefully, focusing on your academic and career aspirations. Consider networking with faculty and peers, exploring extracurricular activities, and developing transferable skills to enhance your prospects.
