Q:   Which is a better college among Hindu College, LSR and Hansraj for BA (Hons) admission?

A:

All these colleges under the University of Delhi, namely Hindu, Hans Raj and LSR are considered to be the top colleges for Arts, Science and Commerce education. The following table contains a fee range and median salary comparison of Hans Raj College with other top colleges of DU offering BA & BA (Hons) courses:

College Name

BA & BA (Hons) Fee Range

BA & BA (Hons) Median Salary

Hans Raj College

INR 540*

INR 6.50 LPA

Hindu College

INR 52,680 - INR 52,770*

INR 7.11 LPA

LSR College

INR 46,110 - INR 77,610*

INR 6.5 LPA

*The above fee and salary information is taken from unofficial sources and hence, is indicative. Students are requested to visit the official website to get more details on the same.

Based on the components mentioned in the above table, Hans Raj College seems to be the most affordableoption of the three. However, that is not the same. After adding all the other admission fee components in the tuition fee, the total fee for BA (Hons) will go almost to the level of LSR and Hindu. However, the median salary offered at all the three is closed to each other with Hindu being on the top. Hence, students are required to consider the return on investment by comparing the overall fee and return salary to make a final decision. The final decition must also depend on the availability of the specialisation that a sudent is willing to get into and other factors, such as location proximity with their residence, preference of course available, among others

Excellent so good and best.
Placements: There is no availability of courses offered by my department. There are no packages available for my course here. Companies are not recruiting due to the absence of packages in my subject in previous years. This lack of packages is the main reason. There is a shortage of faculty as well—none at all.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and the library are so impressive. There's 24/7 Wi-Fi availability. The classroom has modern infrastructure facilities. However, the boys' hostel facility has not been good since 2019. The administration claims that the hostel is undergoing a construction process, but there has been no progress so far. This is a major problem with the college hostel. On a positive note, the canteen is excellent.
Faculty: Yes, teachers are more helpful, knowledgeable, and deliver high-quality teaching effortlessly and with kindness. The course curriculum is also relevant. Every faculty member hails from prominent universities like JNU, Hyderabad Central University, BHU, etc. No issues arise during semester exams due to the supportive nature of all teachers. The pass percentage for exams is 33%.
Other: I want to learn more about our heritage and culture, so that's why I chose Sanskrit. There are small improvements that can enhance this field, such as modern teaching methods. The biggest annual fest at my college is Mecca, and it's so beautiful and amazing.

Hindu college is pillars of higher education in India.
Placements: Minimum 5 percent of students were placed in our course. The package depends on the course and our skill, by which we were placed. In our department, the average package is 1.5 Lacs. 10 to 20 percent of students get internships from our course. Our course involves roles such as translator, chanting Slokas, and teaching, among others.
Infrastructure: There are many types of facilities provided by the college that foster the growth and development of students' knowledge. In terms of infrastructure, our college is exceptionally well-developed at a world-class level. For instance, the Sangneria auditorium, Relax Research Center, and laboratory, as well as the library, exemplify this top-notch standard.
Faculty: The professors are very helpful and cooperative. Every teacher holds a Ph.D. Our professors' research work is published at a world-class level. The teaching quality is excellent. Our teachers have vast teaching experience and have contributed significantly to educational policy. Yes, our courses encompass various curricula that are relevant to our lives. There are no difficulties in the semester exams.
Other: My aim is to become a civil servant, which is why I chose B.A. (Hons) Sanskrit. However, the UPSC optional syllabus for Sanskrit literature is rather compact and limited. Generally, good marks are obtained in other subjects besides literature. Therefore, I opted for it. There are numerous events taking place in our college every day.

I would recommend students to join this college.
Placements: In the Sanskrit department, many students become professors and IAS aspirants. Many students also opt for other cultural fields. Placements are great in our course. The average salary package offered ranges from 15 LPA - 20 LPA. Many students got selected for NDA and our college has its NCC branch which trains students properly.
Infrastructure: Facilities are great in our college. Wi-Fi facility is available. Laboratory is well-maintained. Canteen facility is the best and the food quality is decent. The boys' hostel is under renovation. But the girls' hostel has many facilities, and it is also safe for them.
Faculty: Our teachers are kind and helpful. They are always available for us. They are well-qualified and help us to clear our doubts. We study our cultural knowledge which connects us to our ancient knowledge. Semester exams are not difficult so all students can clear exams easily.
Other: Events are not conducted in our college. We enjoy different cultural shows, music shows, faction shows, dance shows, drama, etc. Once you enter, you get very good vibes on campus.

I am very lucky and feel very obsessed with getting admission to this college.
Placements: If you are pursuing or have completed your graduation from Hindu College, it's not mandatory to get placements. However, after getting a college degree from this college, you have a better future because, after M.A, you have 90%-95% of chances to be Ad-hoc professors in any university or any college.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided for Sanskrit Hons are very good. Labs are fantastic, and classrooms are awesome. Classrooms are completely air-conditioned. The library is excellent where I can get any book according to my wish. The sitting system is very good or excellent as it's very comfortable and very peaceful.
Faculty: I never felt that our teachers neglected me for any help. They always helped me as a guardian, so I never felt alone due to my teachers. In our semester exams, I didn't have any difficulty due to our most educated and helpful teachers.
Other: I have chosen this course due to my interest because I love to study Sanskrit. The best thing about this course is after studying this course, you will be a good person, and it's more important. It teaches us how to live, how to behave and many more things.

Great infrastructure and facilities and diverse crowd .
Placements: 75 percent of my seniors got placement in my course although it's upon them that if they want to take the job or not. Packages may go between 25-35k to 70-80k on monthly basis. Colleges who offer Sanskrit hons may offer you jobs in it also many MNCs may offer a coding job too. Not many companies offer internship until the course is completed, so chances of getting an internship while pursuing the course is very low. This course is deeply linked to the ancient history of indus and great ancient personalities from India.
Infrastructure: Hindi college offer best quality of infrastructure. The red bricked building just gets every students hearts that is why the cut offs are also higher then it's buildings. The college's canteen serves one of the best food in Delhi at very affordable prices. The playgrounds are also as they should be. So the infrastructure and facilities are just to the point.
Faculty: All teachers are highly qualified and well in nature and very helpful. The teaching qualities of the teachers are excellent. Exam level is quite average means they are not that tough.
Other: Although I had chosen the course just to get into the college but I would definitely say Sanskrit is no less then any other language. Events, surrounding, fests, campus crowd are just so diverse and good.
