- Read moreCandidate must satisfy at least one of the following two criteria with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in the year of first appearance in the Class XII (or equivalent examination), i.e. in either 2023 or 2024: Candidate must have passed class 12th or equivalent examination with a minimum of five subjects and with the mentioned marks in aggregate (65% for PwD candidates) from a recognized board. OR Candidate must have passed class 12th or equivalent examination with minimum of five subjects and be within the category-wise (category as per the central list) top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class XII (or equivalent) board examination. Other mandatory Criteria: Candidate who had appeared in Class 12th or equivalent examination for the first time in 2022 or earlier, are NOT eligible to appear irrespective of the combination or number of subjects attempted/offered. However, if the exam Board of Class 12th or equivalent declared the results for the academic year 2021-22 on or after September 21, 2022, then the candidates of that Board who appeared for their Class 12th or equivalent exam in 2022 are also eligible appear in JEE (Advanced) 2024, provided they meet all the other eligibility criteria. In case the exam Board of class 12th or equivalent declared the results for the academic year 2021-22 before September 21, 2022 but the result of a particular candidate was withheld, then the candidate will not be eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2024. I am satisfied with the level of our college.
Placements: Our branch is mineral and metallurgical engineering which is newly introduced at IIT Dhanbad. The newly introduced branch is very much interesting. In our batch, there are 33 students only. Tata Steel, Adani, Aditya Birla, Vedanta, etc., are the companies that visit at the time of placements. Till now, no placements for our new branch are done as it is new but the internships program is done. Our seniors get placed in companies rather than the course they took here. Basically in both ways, students can go but it offers a job first, and there is competition in the IT field. The average salary package offered is 8 LPA, and the placements ratio is also good. More than 80% of students in other branches but all preferred to go in IT field.
Infrastructure: Our seniors suggested that the infrastructure is good. It has the second largest library in Asia. Classes are also good as students have seen in the meetings. Hostels and medical facilities are good. The thing in food vary from person and it is also good.
Faculty: The professors are helpful and try to make students understand better, and they have enough knowledge. The quality of teaching is also good, if students grasping power is high and can score well in exams. Semester exams are lengthy and hard, but if the student is hardworking and dedicated towards his concern, students would score well as there is relative grading in our college. Mostly all of them pass in the semester except two three that are there always in every class.
Other: The seniors are good and helping. Try to join at least one club which will keep students active throughout their college journey. Many competitions and events are held in our college eg. Srijan, etc. All celebrate events with much happiness.

There are good placements and infrastructure here.
Placements: Around 70% to 80% of students get placed from here in general. The salary package offered ranges from 6 LPA-90 LPA in our college. Top recruiters here are Larsen and Toubro, MECON Limited, TATA Steel, Vedanta, Axxela, BeeHyv, Cipher, Deutsche Bank, Future First and PWC. Many more reputed companies visit here for both core and non-core. For internships, any student can apply for both core and non-core companies. Few companies like Nvidia, D.E. Shaw, etc., don't offer internships for non-circuit branches.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is pretty good here, especially the girls' hostel. You will have a Wi-Fi connection for 24 hours. The library is beautiful and has many facilities. A separate reading room for girls is also made, and it has many books and journals and access to Wi-Fi. The quality of food served is not up to that mark but good, and a few of my friends like the mess food. Medical facilities are available for 24 hours. An ambulance is provided, and whenever you need you can call the ambulance.
Faculty: Relative grading is done for calculating GPA. You have to maintain a GPA of above 7.5, but I suggest you maintain above 8 so that you can apply for companies like Morgan Stanley, Nvidia, etc. You have to study on your own even though if you attend lectures.
Other: Students will enjoy all the fests and events as they make academic life in college interesting. Scholarships are provided in our college on the basis of your family income. You will get a lot of chances to explore yourself and college. There are many clubs and sports which will help you to connect more with seniors and take advice from them. The greenery of the college and good sounds of birds makes the campus more beautiful. Four years or five years of your college life will be the most memorable and beautiful moment of your life.

Placements are good. There is the best infrastructure, and facilities are available 24x7.
Placements: More than 80% of the students got placements until now. The average salary package offered here is around 6 LPA-7 LPA, and the highest salary package offered is around 12 LPA. Tata Steel, PwC, HZL, Tirupati Graphite, etc., visit here for placements. There are decent internship stats, i.e., approximately 50%-60%. Some students got internships in Tata Steel, PwC and Vedanta. Mineral processing operation manager is the top role offered in mineral engineering.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite decent here, and the classrooms are like classrooms of an old school. Labs are perfect for understanding industrial basis operations. IIT ISM has Asia's 2nd hugest library, and Wi-Fi is available all around the campus. The food served in the mess is average. Canteens are the best, and they are open up to 4 am in the night. Medical facilities are very well, and 24x7 medical assistant and ambulance facilities are available. Sports and games complexes are pretty well.
Faculty: Professors here are very well qualified, and some of them are passed out from ISM only. They have vast experience and knowledge in teaching. They help you in academics as well as in other things like as a mentor in giving ideas etc. The course curriculum is well defined for industrial purposes and is very well explained. Professors are very experienced in industrial basis operations, so they teach very well according to their simple and clear observation and theories.
Other: Mineral engineering is the best course to get at 9,000-10,000 rank category because you can gain knowledge about how the field industry works. Mineral engineering course is offered only in IIT ISM, so we have a maximum possibility to get placed with good salary packages. If they focus on labs more than the theory part, then it will be the best thing because visual observations are much better than theory. Events are the best in our college. Fests like a tech-fest named Concetto, Basant, a cultural fest named Srijan and other hack fests are conducted by companies. Campus surroundings provide a lot of happiness and good vibes. Scholarships and other information are provided by DSW, or college scholarships like MCM, Samsung scholarship and all other scholarships are provided. The bond between seniors and juniors is the best.

It is a unique college with a great brand value, but it is underrated.
Placements: Almost 80% of the students got placed in the last year. The minimum salary package offered is 7 LPA, the average salary package offered is 10 LPA and the highest salary package offered is 14 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Tata Steel and Coal India. Almost 20% of the students got an internship in Tata Steel, and most of them also got low internships. Top roles are site manager, financial analyst, coaching teachers, etc.
Infrastructure: The library is Asia's tallest. There is no Wi-Fi in labs and classrooms, but it is available in the library and hostel. Infrastructure is good, and it is developing slowly. Medical facilities are good, and 24x7 health centre is available with the all-time ambulance. Mess food is average, but it varies with the hostel. All sports facilities are available. There are 15 canteens of different brands on the campus, and the hostel canteen is opened till 3 am.
Faculty: Teachers are good at research, but they are not good at teaching. Some teachers are awesome in their qualification, and most of the teachers are helpful. The course curriculum is relevant and keeps on changing according to the industry demands. Professors have the right of what they should teach, so students become industry-ready.
Other: I have chosen this course because it is very rare and unique. It has less competition and more opportunities. It is good for research and quick specialisation. The negative point is it has poor placements as compared with other courses. The course should focus on diversified learning rather than specialisation. Many fests like tech fest, cultural fest, sports fest and departmental fest are conducted here. The crowd is awesome and comes from all over India. Connectivity is good with trains, but there is no airport, so for the flight, you have to come to Ranchi or Kolkata. Many scholarships are available. Most of them have a limitation of family income. Campus surroundings are good. There are 20 hobby clubs and an infinite number of opportunities for extracurricular activities.

Good faculty and decent infrastructure.
Placements: In my course, more than 90% of students were placed and the top recruiters were CIL, UCIL and many more. The highest package was 15 LPA and the average was around 10 LPA. Almost every student who had a decent CGPA got an internship from my course in core companies.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure and facilities for the course are quite good and hostel facilities are also decent.
A new canteen has been built on campus this year and new hostel construction is also under progress but mess food quality is very bad. The medical facility is also good.
Faculty: Faculty are very good having vast experience about the course subject and are also very supportive. Now metallurgy is also added to our course curriculum so it will give more opportunity and choices for us and also laboratory is being upgraded with updated equipments.
Other: I choose this course because it has better placement percentage over other available choices at my time.
