Honest review of Walchand College of Engineering.
Placements: I'm a first-year student, and my branch is Information Technology. In the technical sector, out of 100%, around 85-90% of students got placed. Overall the average salary package offered ranges from 6-9 LPA. Many top companies visit the campus to provide internships and placements.
Infrastructure: Our college is very good. The campus is spread over 90 acres. It is filled with greenery and trees. The campus has 3 cafes and a large playground, along with badminton, basketball, volleyball, and table tennis courts. It also has a gym which is always open except on Sunday. However, the hostel is not well-developed.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and well-qualified. Most of them have done their masters and some are PhD holders in their subject. They have excellent work experience. They are always there to support students. They help in each aspect of both studies and extracurricular activities.
Other: My batch is Information Technology, and I took admission through the OBC category, so my fee is around Rs. 75,000 per year. But for the open category, it is around Rs. 95,000 per year. The hostel fee for all students is Rs. 28,000 per year, though this might change. It is best to check the website for the most up-to-date information.

All about WCE (Walchand college of engineering).
Placements: Collage placement is really good with a 12 LPA average package and an 85% placement ratio. The highest CTC in college is around 52 LPA, and the lowest is about 4 LPA. The internships are also offered to students but my internship is not that much. The top roles offered are full-stack developer, AI engineer, data scientist and many more.
Infrastructure: Labs, classrooms, and libraries are literally good; all labs are clean and full of equipment like high-spec PCs, monitors and other devices. The library is the attraction point, like it's very big and contains more than 10,000 books. Classrooms are big and each and every class has a digital board and projector. Hostels are average for staying, not that great and not that bad and mess is like average and suggested to be enrolled for outside mess.
Faculty: Faculty are really supportive and friendly; they will help you in every case, like every doubt regarding academics, you can concern to them. Most teachers are masters holders and highly educated. Talking about courses, it's all similar to other colleges, which are 50-50 industry-ready; you need to acquire some skills on your own. Exam are really mid and you need to score atleast 40% to pass the year.

Decent placements, good infrastructure, decent placements.
Placements: 40% of students are placed. I am in the city, and the highest package offered is 18.5 LPA from Dhruv, while the lowest, which is offered by Cognizant, is 4 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Deutsche Bank, Nvidia, and Gupshup. Mostly, the roles offered by these companies are software development, but it depends on the requirements they have and the type of students they are looking for.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very old, dating back to the time of independence. The facilities provided in the hostel are minimal, but the basic facilities like Wi-Fi are available. The quality of food in the mess is very low. Sometimes it’s decent, but most of the time, it falls below acceptable standards. The college does not support sports; you have to manage everything related to sports on your own and with your own money.
Faculty: The faculty is very qualified but not helpful. They do not provide the required knowledge to the students. The curriculum contains very old technologies, and the semester exams are not difficult. The situation is such that teachers do not cover the right portions, and they include different topics in the exams. The checking is not thorough, leading to difficulties for students during exams.

Admission is recommended solely for those seeking good placement opportunities.
Placements: Due to the ongoing industry recession, the placement scenario this year is not as promising as the previous year. Until January 2024, approximately 30 students from the IT branch remain unplaced, and a similar situation exists for the CS branch. Major companies, including Deutsche Bank, Druva, Siemens, and Nvidia, continue to visit. While placement opportunities are good for CS, IT, and electronics students, they are only average for others.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure lacks significant updates, with only the existing buildings being present. There has been minimal development, such as the modification of the cyber hostel and other hostels, which is still underway. The Wi-Fi in my room is not reliable, and despite numerous complaints, no attention is given to rectify the issue.
Faculty: The quality of teachers is average, not comparable to IIT or NIT standards. Particularly in the IT department, most teachers are unconventional, and students must tolerate this, except for 2-3 exceptional teachers. The course curriculum is average, and to be industry-ready, one must take the initiative to learn independently; relying on the college is not advisable.

Our college provides good opportunities.
Placements: Almost all CSE and IT branch students got placed in our college. The average salary package ranges between 7 LPA - 8 LPA. A few students don't get placements. Our course is not much easy. Placements depend on students.
Infrastructure: Our college provides us with all facilities. Labs are good, but computers are not much good. The hostel facilities are not good. I would recommend joining the other hostels. Classrooms are average. The cyber hostel is good.
Faculty: Our teachers are good. They teach us very well. They don't give importance to placements. A few teachers support students for placements. We have a lot of academic challenges. The course curriculum is good if you follow it thoroughly. Semester exams are difficult.
Other: A few events and fests are held in our college.
