GATE 2025 Syllabus PDF: IIT Roorkee has released the GATE 2025 syllabus for all 30 test papers on the GATE official website. The exam dates for the test papers have been announced, followed by a new two-paper combination list. Candidates can check the schedule below. The syllabus is available in PDF format and can also be downloaded here. The official website has activated GATE 2025 mock test links to help candidates understand the difficulty level and exam structure. It is important for the candidates to understand the exam pattern and syllabus inorder to score well in the GATE exam. The GATE 2025 registration and correction facility is now closed.

The GATE exam syllabus comprises three major sections: General Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics, and Subject-Specific Paper. Interested candidates must know the GATE syllabus and the GATE 2025 exam pattern before filling out the application form for GATE 2025

The GATE 2025 exam will be conducted in 30 different subjects. GATE Question paper will have 65 questions for 100 marks, including 15 marks for general aptitude questions. The paper codes AR, CY, EY, GG, MA, PH, XH, and XL will have 15 marks for general aptitude & the remaining 85 marks are devoted to the specific subject. All other paper codes except AR, CY, EY, GG, MA, PH, XH, and XL will have 15 marks for general aptitude, 13 for engineering mathematics, and the remaining 72 marks for the specific subject.

Q:   What is the syllabus for GATE exam?

A:

GATE Syllabus have 3 major sections namely General Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics, and Chosen subject.

GATE General aptitude syllabus is based on intermediate level general understanding to test aptitude of candidates. However, Engineering mathematics and chosen subject's syllabus will be of graduation level. A candidates must expect good undergraduate level question from the syllabus in the GATE exam.

The distribution of questions in all papers except AR, CY, EY, GG, MA, PH, XH, and XL, the marking distribution is as follows - General Aptitude (15), Engineering Mathematics (13 marks), and Subject-specific (72).

The distribution of questions in AR, CY, EY, GG, MA, PH, XH, and XL is as follows - General Aptitude (15) and Subject-specific (85).

Q:   When will the GATE 2025 registration start?

A:

IIT Roorkee has REVISED the GATE 2025 application form dates. As per the revised schedule, GATE 2025 registrations had started on 28 August, 2024. The last date for GATE 2025 registration have been extended to October 3, 2024 (without late fees). Earlier, candidates had to submit the application form by 26 September 2024, with regular fees. Candidates will be able to submit the GATE 2025 application form with late fees until October 11, 2024 (extended).

Candidates can complete information by clicking on the given link: GATE 2025 Application form. To enroll for the GATE exam, candidates have to pay a requisite fee of INR 900 (for female/SC/ST/PWD candidates) and INR 1800 (for other candidates) during the regular period. A late fee of INR 500 is charged for candidates applying after October 3, 2024.

Q:   For how many papers can one student apply in GATE 2025?

A:

Students applying for GATE 2025 can opt for two subject papers from the prescribed set of combinations. Earlier, the candidates could apply to appear in only one subject. As a candidate can appear in only two papers (only approved set) of the 30 papers for which GATE 2025 will be conducted, they must carefully choose the papers they wish to write. A candidate is expected to appear in the papers appropriate to the discipline of his or her qualifying degree. However, he or she is free to choose any paper according to his or her admission plan, keeping in mind the GATE eligibility criteria of the institutions in which he or she wishes to seek admission. For more details regarding the admission criteria at any particular institute, the candidate is advised to refer to the websites of that institute. Those candidates opting for two paper combinations for GATE 2025 have a primary choice of paper as their default choice. The second choice of paper has to be chosen from the allowed combinations. Q:   Is there any change in the GATE 2025 syllabus?

A:

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering GATE 2025 notification has been released. No change in GATE 2025 syllabus has been announced by the IIT Roorkee. The GATE exam 2025 will be conducted in February 1, 2, 15 and 16, 2025 for 30 papers. The GATE application form 2025 has been released at the GOAPS portal on August 28, 2024. The last date to submit the application form with regular fees was October 3, 2024 and October 11, 2024 (with extended fees). Candidates can apply online to appear in GATE 2025 exam.

GATE 2025 Reasoning and Comprehension Syllabus (XH-B1)

The GATE 2025 Reasoning and Comprehension syllabus (XH-B1) is compulsory for all XH candidates (Humanities and Social Sciences). The section tests the candidate's ability to comprehend and interpret written information - skills critical to research in the Humanities and Social Sciences. Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering is one of the two new papers introduced in GATE and it comprises five sections namely Engineering Mathematics, Applied Mechanics and Structures, Fluid Mechanics and Marine Hydrodynamics, Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering and Thermodynamics and Marine Engineering.
