Age Limit

Q: When RRB ALP notification 2024 was released?
Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released a short notification for RRB ALP 2024 recruitment. The detailed notification was released on January 20, 2024. A total of 5696 vacancies will be filled through this recruitment process. The exam is conducted for candidates in the age group of 18 to 30 years and who have completed Class 10/SSLC. The recruitment is done for the post of Assistant Loco Pilots and Technicians. This year, the age limit for ALP post has been revised. Earlier, the age limit for ALP was 18 to 28 years. The revised age limit is 18 to 30 years.

RRB ALP application form is released online. The application fee for General (Male) is INR 500, OBC, ST, SC/ Ex-Serviceman/PWD (Male) is INR 250, OBC, ST, General, SC/Ex-Serviceman/PWD (Female/Transgender) is INR 250.

RRB ALP Exam Pattern
RRB ALP exam is conducted in the following stages:
RRB ALP First Stage CBT: This will be conducted in online mode. The paper includes 75 objective-type questions (MCQs) and the total time given to complete the paper is 60 minutes.
RRB ALP Second Stage CBT: This stage will have two parts, Part A and Part B. Part will have 100 questions and Part B will have 75 questions. The time given to complete Part A and B are 90 minutes and 60 minutes respectively.
RRB ALP CBAT: This stage is only for those candidates who have applied for Assistant Loco Pilot posts. This phase is qualifying in nature.

For the second stage CBT, candidates 20 times the number of vacancies are called. The shortlisting for the second stage is based on the merit of candidates for the first stage. The shortlisting for skill tests such as Computer-based Aptitude Test and Typing Skill Test is done eight times the number of vacancies and based on the merit of candidates in the second stage CBT. On successfully qualifying all stages of the recruitment process, RRBs will allot post & railway units as per the option given by candidates subjected to merit, medical standard and vacancy.

In first two CBTs questions will come in MCQ format. The third stage is CBAT, where candidates will be given five test batteries. The CBT carries 75 objective-type multiple-choice questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence, and Reasoning, General Science and General awareness on current affairs. The test carries a total of 75 marks. The duration of the test is 60 minutes. The standard of questions in first stage CBT is framed as per the educational qualification prescribed for the posts.
