Is NEET 2024 Passing/Qualifying Marks Higher than Last Year?

The NEET passing/qualifying marks have increased compared to last year. In 2024, the NEET qualification marks or cutoff marks increased as the total number of test takers was higher, and the difficulty level of the exam was lower than that of last year. The NEET qualification marks or cutoff depend on the following factors:

  • Total number of candidates who appear for the examination

  • Difficulty level of the examination

  • Performance of the candidates

  • Number of seats available

  • NEET cutoff for previous years

Owing to the higher number of test takers, and the increase in the number of MBBS and BDS seats, the NEET cutoff marks for 2024 have gone up. Hence, students must gear up for tougher competition.

NEET Percentile = 100 x Number of candidates with their raw score equal to/ less than the candidate

Total number of candidates who appeared for NEET
