 The UPCATET 2024 exam was conducted on June 11 and 12, 2024. To qualify the UPCATET 2024, candidates have to prepare well and know the exam pattern, marking scheme, and syllabus thoroughly. 

The authorities released the UPCATET admit card 2024 on May 27, 2024

Earlier S.V.P University of Agriculture & Technology, Meerut released the application form on March 17, 2024 and last date to register for the exam was May 17, 2024.

Plenty of time and dedication are required to ace the exam. Since exam conducting authorities do not provide any official syllabus for the exam hence applicants need to prepare the graduate-level syllabus for PG courses and the 12th standard of UP Board syllabus to appear for UG courses of UPCATET 2024

UPCATET is conducted to provide admission to Uttar Pradesh State domicile candidates in different UG and PG programmes offered at various universities.

Q:   How to prepare for general questions for the exam of UPCATET?

A:

Applicants who want to prepare for the UPCATET exam should first go through UPCATET previous year's Question Papers which will give them an insight as to how to prepare for the exam. Since authorities have not prescribed any official syllabus for the exam for UG and PG courses hence candidates who will appear for UG programmes need to prepare the 12th standard UP Board syllabus. For PG programmes, applicants need to prepare a graduate standard exam syllabus. 

The questions which will be asked in the UPCATET exam will be from there only.

Q:   Is there different exam pattern for UG and PG programme?

A:

Yes there will be different exam pattern of UG and PG courses in UPCATET exam. The UG courses i.e BSc & BTech and Post graduate courses i.e MBA, MSc have different pattern. The number of courses for UG is 200 while for PG it is 100. The total marks allotted for UG courses is 600, while for PG it is 300. 

Though each question from UG and PG weigh same 3 marks only

Time duration for both UG and PG is also different, UG is of 3 hours and PG is of 2 hours.

Q:   What is marking scheme of UPCATET exam?

A:

The marking scheme of UPCATET exam is as follows:
- The UPCATET exam consists of multiple-choice questions, where each question carries 4 marks.
- The UPCATET exam has a total of 200 questions, and the maximum marks that can be scored are 800.
- To qualify the UPCATET exam, applicants need to score passing marks. 
The total duration alloted to this UPCATET exam will be 3 hours

While filling the online application form of UPCATET, applicants are given 4 options to choose, which paper they want to appear for the exam. Their paper will be of same combination which they have filled in their application form.

A:

The exam conducting authority has clearly mentioned in the official broucher that "Open & Distance Education" will be considered for educational qualification eligibility criteria of UPCATET. 

Applicants who have completed their education as full time course will be eligible to fill the form and apply online. Only those students are required to fill the application form who fulfill the eligibility criteria prescribed by the authorities.

How to prepare for UPCATET 2024

UPCATET exam is a highly competitive entrance exam and candidates appearing for the exam need to have a strategy and aim to score well and qualify. Aspirants can go through the following prep strategy methods while preparing for UPCATET.

Know the exam pattern for UPCATET

UPCATET exam pattern for BSc and BTech courses is such that the question paper will contain a total of 200 multiple choice questions with 600 marks that candidates need to complete in three hours duration. The question paper will be in both English and Hindi languages.

UPCATET Marking Scheme

  • 1 mark will be awarded for every question answered right.
  • There is a negative marking in the UPCATET entrance exam.
  • No marks will be given for unattempted questions.

UPCATET Syllabus

To perform well in the UPCATET test, candidates have to thoroughly go through the syllabus. Aspirants need to strategise their plans on a monthly, weekly and daily basis. There is no success without hard work and in order to qualify for the entrance exam, candidates can prepare better by knowing which topics to cover in-depth and which require superficial knowledge. The candidate can do so as per the below-mentioned pointers:

  • Make a list of topics, subject wise

The UPCATET exam is held once in year hence candidates preparing for the exam must complete their syllabus in advance at least 3 months before the commencement of exam.
