Is HBTU Kanpur good for B.E./B.Tech?

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here are some key points to consider:

JEE Main Registration 2024 session 2 last date was March 4. NTA released JEE Main 2024 Application form session 2 on February 2. JEE Main Application form 2024 session 2 was available online on the official website jeemain.nta.ac.in. Candidates who have applied for JEE Main 2024 session 1 had not register again. Such candidates only need to fill the paper details (BE/BTech or BArch/BPlan) and pay application fees. JEE Main 2024 registration last date session 2 was March 4.

From the third semester of the course, subjects included in the curriculum are more specialisation-centric. Till the second year, common subjects are taught to all the students, irrespective of the chosen specialisation. The subjects included in HBTU BTech CSE third semester are:

NTA has announced the JEE Main 2025 exam date session 1. The session 1 exam will be conducted on January 22, 23, 24 28 and 29, 2025 for Paper 1. For Paper 2, the exam date is January 30, 2025. JEE Main 2025 session 2 will be held from April 1 to 8, 2025. NTA has ended JEE Main 2025 session 1 registration. JEE Main Application form 2025 session 1 was available on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in. 

The official website to apply for JEE Main 2025 is jeemain.nta.nic.in. NTA will release the JEE Main application form 2025 tentatively in November. Candidates have to fill the form online from the website. The cutoff in HBTU is the most competitive for the BTech CSE programme. Hence, it is one of the top course of the university. HBTU has been ranked #23 for its BTech course in the India Today 2023 rankings. As per HBTU Kanpur 2022-23 consolidated placement report, the highest and average packge offered stood at INR 36 LPA and INR 9.30 LPA, respectively. Considering the course fee of the university, the ROI is good. Hence, BTech aspirants can definitely consider applying for admission in this university.

It is necessary that each aspirant fulfil the course-specific eligibility requirements. Thus, the aspirants who have completed Class 12 with at least 55% aggregate (50% aggregate for reserved category) in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science are eligible to apply for a BTech course in HBTU. Moreover, for BTech Lateral Entry, aspirants need to pass CUET exam and should have completed a three-year Engineering Diploma with a minimum of 45% aggregate (40% aggregate for SC/ ST).

Out of 75 CSE students, 68 were eligible for the 2023 placement session. Further, 71 offers were distributed among the placed students. Looking at the past three years' data (2021 to 2023), a fluctuating trend was recorded in the number of offers made to CSE students. The HBTU CSE average package is not disclosed for the 2023 drive. The application fees for JEE Main is

• INR 1,000 (Male unreserved/OBC/EWS category)
• INR 800 (Female unreserved/OBC/EWS category)
• INR 500 (SC/ST/PwD/Transgender category)

Candidates have the option of paying the application fee online through credit/debit card and internet banking. The application form will not be considered submitted until the application fees is paid. Once the application fee are paid, candidates receive a confirmation email at their registered email address confirming the payment of fees. 

The application process is accepted in online mode by the university. Candidates must submit the admission within the prescribed due date. The steps to apply for HBTU BTech course are as follows:

Step 4: Select ‘New Application’.

Step 5: Select the preferred course.
