Satisfied because of various reasons like fests, infrastructure, etc.
Placements: HBTU Kanpur being a government college is quite impressive, and the placements in the electrical branch are quite good. Most of the students are already placed in the companies for the 9 LPA package, on average. I have seen my senior preparing for the company's interview. Also, mostly all the students are doing internships provided by the college or by themselves. Companies like Birla, TCS, etc. also visited and students got selected for those.
Infrastructure: I must say that the hostel's infrastructure is very good. The room size are bigger as compared to IIT. Also, there is triple sharing as well as single occupancy. Wi-Fi is also available in the hostel, classrooms, library, labs, and everywhere else in the college. The quality of food in the mess is average; one can eat and sleep peacefully. Even if you don't want to eat at the mess, there are 4 canteens available on campus where you can eat, which have very decent quality and taste.
Faculty: Teachers are really helpful. They take their classes on time and teach each and every topic that is on the syllabus. Talking about the curriculum, in a semester there are 2 midterm exams and 1 end-of-semester exam, which is quite good and easy to pass. The exams are not that difficult if one has attended the lectures. The minimum marks that are required at the end of the semester are 15 marks and including midterms and internal numbers, the total marks should be 40/100.
Other: The reason I chose this course is that I want to pursue a government job in the future and being in a core branch like electrical has a lot of opportunities. Also, the core branch gives me a lot of exposure; I'm in a different field as well. Talking about the fest, well, the fest is organized every year for the new students so that they can enjoy their college life.

Not so satisfied with the college, very bad campus infrastructure, and below average placements.
Placements: The placement scene is not so decent here. In my branch of Electrical Engineering, almost 25–30% of the students got placed with an average package of about 6-7 LPA. If you are thinking of joining this college in terms of placement, you may get a little disappointed here. Some of the students go for government exam preparation; that's one of the reasons for the lower percentage of students getting placed. The highest package offered was 22 LPA and the lowest was 3.33 LPA.
Infrastructure: In terms of infrastructure, you will be really disappointed with this college. This college is almost 100 years old. That's why the buildings in this college are very old-fashioned and in very poor condition. Coming to the hostel, they are in very poor condition; there are no facilities in the hostel. In terms of sports facilities, you get a volleyball court and a badminton court, which are always filled with water. Then, in indoor games, you get table tennis, which is the only thing that I liked. The management at this college is very bad. There are water issues in the hostels; if a water cooler failure occurs, it takes weeks of time to get it repaired, and until then, the students have to suffer. The food quality, which is the worst I have eaten, sometimes makes it so bad that you can't even eat anything. The hostel and college buildings really needed to be renovated as soon as possible.
Faculty: The teaching quality is very poor. You will understand not even a single word from them. Even they don't put a single effort into making students understand anything. Some of the professors are so dumb that even if you write the correct answers in exams,. They won't give you marks just because you have not written the exact words they have taught in the class. The semester exams are way too easy to pass; you just have to study 1-2 weeks before the exam and you are all set to bang 9 points in your exam.
Other: Personally, I chose this course for the purpose of getting a good placement but I was shocked to see the placement seen here. There are a variety of students coming here, with ranks ranging from 20,000 to 10,000. There is one major fest organized here named 'ADHAY," where you can enjoy and get relief from your boredom academic life. Some other fests organized here are "AAGAZ," which is a sports fest, and "HUNKAR," which is a literary fest. There is no scholarship offered by the college, though there is a government scholarship that you can avail of if you meet their selection criteria. There are some seats in this college that you can get if you have a good rank and your yearly income is less than 5 lakh.

College is good in many terms but it depends on you what u expect from college.
Placements: Placements of HBTU are good remembering in mind that it is a state college. This college is famous for its chemical branches and their placements. Average placement of this college is 6-7 lakhs. For tech branches, it's average placement can go upto 10 lakh.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is decent not so good not so bad, ss u all know this is a very old college. This college was built in 1921 ,it has completed its 100 years in 2021.Classes are okay okay. They have proper seats but do not have ACs but there are lecture hall complex which have ACs which is mostly for freshers.
Faculty: Faculties are quite decent. Some have interest in teaching and some faculties come for taking attendance only . Faculties of this college are highly qualified, there is not doubt it. They are highly knowledgeable and helpful at a same time. Curriculum of this college is same as of any other government college .

Electrical engineering is better in terms of GATE/ESE point of view, however, hardly any PSUs visit HBTU based on two to three years of experience.
