To sort out the fee issues and unburden the students, the institute provides financial assistance at the campus in place of scholarships. Details around this financial assistance are as follows:

1. State Bank of India (IIIT branch) guarantees an SBI Scholar student loan to a student who secures admission at IIITH of up to 20 Lacs (without the need for any security). This can be availed even if the applicant’s family has other existing loans.
2. The alumni of IIIT Hyderabad have set up a fund to support successfully admitted students based on need. The assistance is provided on a pay-it-forward* basis. In a Pay-it-forward scheme, students agree to pay the tuition fees of another student, after they successfully and start earning. The fund provides the below support

• Financial support to students whose family income is below 8 LPA from the second semester, subject to availability and meeting the pre-defined criteria
• Students above the income threshold can also apply and may be granted tuition support if their case is found worthy by the committee

The tuition fee for BTech at IIIT Hyderabad ranges between INR 10 Lakh and INR 18 lakh. In addition to the tuition fee, students are required to pay for hostel charges of INR 4.50 lakh, the fees might include components other than hostel fees. Meal Plan is included in mentioned fee. To answer the question of why its fee is higher, as per the official website, IIIT offers high-quality infrastructure and modern well-kept living facilities. And most importantly, IIIT does not run on annual government grants. This allows complete autonomy and high academic standards but does result in a slightly higher fee.
