This college is better than state government colleges.
Placements: Overall, the placement is not so good, but the placement of CSE, IT, and ECE departments is very good. The placement of EEE is average. The placement of mechanical and biotech is approximately 5-10%. This time, our training and placement cell members are trying to contact core companies for core branches, and have been successful. 3-4 core companies have come this year for placement of EEE and mechanical.
Infrastructure: The overall structure of Panjab University is really good but the structure of UIET department is not as good as other departments. UIET has only 3 blocks, out of which 1 is only for mechanical and its workshops. There is a basketball court near UIET and fields for almost all the sports field are there in the university. All the departments have good labs. The labs are the most important things in our whole engineering, where we can do practicals.
Faculty: Overall, the faculty is average, but the faculty of applied science department is very good. But I am pursuing EEE, so I will give you the view of the electrical department only: Some teachers are highly qualified and really good, and give helpful instructions to the students. Overall, the faculty is too good. Approximately 70-80% teachers in all the departments of UIET are permanent teachers, and the rest 20 % are guests teachers. They are not as qualified as the permanent teachers.
Other: Our college life is awesome because it comes under the Panjab University campus. There is a central library for all the students that is very helpful and open 24 hours for the students. Some teachers of our department are helpful with any type of problem. One more thing- a student can do various types of curricular activities in this college.

An institute worth its name. This college made me learn many things.
Placements: Highest package- 8 lacs pa. Average package- 4-5 lacs pa. Mass recruiters' package- 4 lacs pa. Placements were done mostly for CSE, it and ECE branches. Mass recruiters like Infosys take maximum students. Approx. 60% students get placed. Companies that visited- Zs Solutions, Deloitte, IOL Petrochemicals Ltd, Infosys and many more.
Infrastructure: Wi-fi facility is the best in Panjab University. The labs are not maintained properly. Improvements have been made but still a long way to go. The classrooms are very good. The workshops are very well maintained. Library facilities have an edge over everything. A 24-hour reading hall. Almost every book related to the curriculum is present. Sports and games facilities and events are good.
Faculty: The faculty is good. There are some members who were less helpful and cooperative but overall, the faculty is intelligent and know about their subjects better than anyone else. Projectors are available and are often used by them to teach the students. Regular industrial trips are taken. Very useful curriculum and relevant topics are present in the curriculum.

Satisfied in terms of crowd, faculty and dissatisfied with the placements.
Placements: The placements were average for our batch. Companies like Deloitte, ZS Associates, Gemini Solutions India, Infosys etc. visited our campus. 90% of the students got placed from our batch, mainly in Infosys. Roughly 70% students got an internship from our college. The highest stipend was around 15K and the lowest was around 4K.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is good and easily accessible by the students. The classrooms lack a bit in terms of the infrastructure. The quality of some of the labs is satisfactory but a lot of new equipments need to be setup to make the labs at par with other top tier colleges. The quality of the canteen food has improved a lot during my tenure at the college but it lacks in variety.
Faculty: The faculty is very helpful, qualified as well as knowledgeable. Everyone is easily accessible and friendly. Although the teaching methods used are not that aligned with the modern technology as they should be. There is also a lot of scope for improvement and advancement in terms of the course curriculum.
